Just plugged in my Amazon Firestick, but bufferings a bitch

Is this just that my ISP is puny or should I get a booster to the living room (the box is in the bedroom i.e. the opposite corner of my not particularly big flat). Living in Germany and with a reputable provider - I'm even fairly sure that I signed up for the high-speed option. Techno-pranny request so please keep it simple.

Is it plugged directly into the TV? If so try using an HDMI extension cable. Ours is a 2m extension and it works fine. The electronics of the TV may be interfering with it.

Will do and report back - though I reckon it'll be more like a 4m cable - should this be okay?

Depends on your property, but the idea is to get the stick away from the telly and any signal interference therein, with closer to the wifi router more desirable.

#2: 4m cable is fine.

Thanks guys will let you know. The idea is that a 5M cable (four metre not being available) will take it right away from the TV, etc, to the hallway and leave it with a pretty clear line to the hub (if needs be I can move the hub into the hall way as well).

Again will post the result - it cost me less than €10 as an experiment anyway.

Amazon do supply a titchy lead with it but as long as its about 1 to 2m away from the back of the telly it appears to work fine. Ours does anyway.

I've just bought one of these today and I can't find the BBCiplayer on it. I am being spectacularly dim?

You have to download the app first. Should be easy to spot where you do this.

What a palaver. No app available as it thinks I'm in America. Now trying to remedy by long tedious phone call.
