Going to Rehab II

Further support for those giving up, or wanting to give up, the demon drink...

So yeah, wigs best avoided in AA. That's what I reckon.

Although there's a bloke at one of my meetings whose hair is a suspicious colour and shape.

He's an Operating Thetan, but he's not allowed to mention it.

Shows what you know. We're not allowed mirrors at meetings, as they might open a window into the dark hearts of our souls.

No, I'm not religious and while many in AA are, it's not a deal beaker.

I'm a long way from Step 3 and I don't know what my higher power will be but I don't think it will be the Christian god, it might be. Who knows?

Whatever works for you.

Anyone seen Aloy today? Unlike him not to post on here.

crabbsie - 24 Jan 2012 20:28:58 (#10 of 16477)

Yesterday he mentioned a two day conference he was going to today.

VeniVidiVicious - 24 Jan 2012 20:41:02 (#11 of 16477)

Oh I didn't know it was you either rank. But fucking well done on getting as far as sobriety.

Ghanny - 24 Jan 2012 21:12:13 (#12 of 16477)

Yep I think you have done really well Rank. It's not easy to say you have a booze problem and say you are going to give up. It takes a lot of courage. Especially when your friends are drinkers which is usually the case.

It's far easier to just keep drinking and ignore the problem. So well done. Wombat is right to be proud of you.

Cheers, all.

Good meeting tonight. Shared some really private and deep down stuff and feel good for it. I always have a real sense of peace when I come out of a meeting. It's a good medicine to take.

How's everyone this morning?

manlee - 25 Jan 2012 08:39:12 (#15 of 16477)

Present, Sir!

I don't have much of interest to declare, which I guess is a good thing.

Ghanny - 25 Jan 2012 08:39:24 (#16 of 16477)

Morning everyone. Good thanks Rank, crazy busy week in work so a bit stressed.

RankBajin - 25 Jan 2012 08:45:36 (#17 of 16477)

Stress is an ever present thing. I treat it with herbal tea as, after a lengthy discussion with our head of HR, it became apparent that self pollution is a bit of a no no in the modern office.

pipsqueak - 25 Jan 2012 09:23:45 (#18 of 16477)

I hadn't guessed either, but well done Rank x
