Anyone got a Sodastream? Or similar device?

I know they were big in the Last Century, but are they still a good option? Wouldn't want flavoured drink, just to make fizzy water.

If you just want carbonated water, you're cheaper with a soda syphon.

Oh, good thought, Tommy.

I looked into using a Sodastream for fizzy water and it turned out that the cost of the regassing thingys was uneconomical and it would be cheaper to buy fizzy water.

We've got one and it gets used several times a day. We use the subscription service so get sent a box of four bottles whenever we get onto the last one, it works really well. We only want fizzy water and saves on all that plastic of buying it bottled.

Which model do you have, Sab?

We have the Crystal, only use it for fizzy water (the kids might put some squash in), would much rather do my own than use all that plastic from bottles. The only thing with the Crystal is it takes quite small bottles. I like that you can control how fizzy you make the water rather than the one shot kind.

There's a bloke down the road from me who refills his own canisters and will do others too for a small price. Sab I reckon you could get in the business of refilling your own.

We've got the Spirit Classic, Airy - good because you can use either 1 or 0.5l bottles.

I hadn't thought of getting the bottles refilled elsewhere, or even that it was possible!
