Festivals at 40 - helped needed choosing one

Looking for music festival recommendations for a couple of middle-aged former indie kids....

I spoke to my best friend from school earlier this evening, and we're now going to see The Cure in December. All good, and we also discussed the possibility of a festival in the summer as well. To sum us up (we are extremely easy to desctibe/stereotype :-) .....)

We're both 40, ex-indie kids/occasional forays in Goth and rave in our late teens and twenties. Been to several Glastonbury's and Readings, and the occasional T in the Park and Womad, but nothing for either of us for several yaers. Anyone got any ideas?

Robert Smith already looked like the corpse of his granny 20 years ago. God love you for showing an interest.

End of the Road or Latitude? Great line ups, both.

One "n".

At least 4, in fairness.

Given the shocking levels of musician mortality in 2016 so far, I rate Robert Smith's chances of making it through to December as 50-50 at best :-(

Green Man looked the obvious choice, but the dates don't work for my friend. Neither of us have been to Latitude, so that's definitely an option. I know very little about End of the Road or Good Life Experience, so will investigate...

I am going to Latitude this year as my first ever festival.

Ooh, this Dutch one looks good!

Shameless plug alert - you could go to the festival I work for in my spare time: http://www.also-festival.com/

Small, grown-up(ish) and fun.

That Shine weekender in November looks good as well!

End of the road spun off from GreenMan but is marginally more hipster/populist.

Good life experience is Cerys Matthews pet project and big on crafts and cookery.

That actually looks really interesting - Ted Talks in a field! :-) Unfortunately, the dates don't work for him again.

That Butlins weekender looks ace as well. You can never see Suede too many times, in my opinion :-) Bit of a trek for me from Peterhead to Bognor (the best part of 600 miles), easy enough for him to get to from Somerset though.

SGM1A1 - 06 May 2016 23:06:23 (#18 of 24)

The Minehead one will be on his doorstep then.

zoltanbuchan - 06 May 2016 23:08:29 (#19 of 24)

Indeed it will, lucky sod.

Just checked the Latitude Bill, have never seen British Sea Power or John Grant live, so may well investigate further...

Thanks for the suggestions everyone :-)

You sound like me. I am off to Bearded Theory later this month, Primavera Porto in June, Lovebox/Citadel one dayers in July and End of The Road in September.
