Kynren - the Story of Us

£30-odd million spent turning a golf course into a multi-acre stage.

1000 volunteers present 2000 years of English history - real and myth - in 90 minutes.

Dancing maidens! Knights on horseback! Shakespeare! Churchill! Stephenson's Rocket! Geese! (yes, really). More special effects than you can shake a shitey lance at!

Inspired by Puy du Fou in France and very reminiscent of the London olympic opening ceremony in style.

And, just for a change, it's oop North!

What's not to love?

We went on Saturday.

It's actually very, very good indeed.

But what about the golfers? Who will speak for them, in their tartan trousers? #votetrumpton

Best use of a golf course ever. Until someone turns one into a concentration camp for golfers.

Set the geese on 'em. They'll have their tartan trousers off just like that.

The Romans were keen golfers you know. And Shakespeare was killed on a golf course when struck accidentally by a wayward niblick thrown by Ben Jonson in a fit of pique after a bad experience on a par 3 of some sort. Or was it some port. Difficult to be sure now. Histories score cards are notoriously unreliable.

Blimey, shame we've missed the opportunity to see that, during the summer holidays. Only 45 minutes South, to Bash-yer, as well.
