Hooray!

StillCiars - 14 Nov 2019 11:38:41 (#2 of 162)

I was just coming to post this! Hurrah!!

dreams99 - 14 Nov 2019 11:58:36 (#3 of 162)

Only 5 so far.

Cordelia - 14 Nov 2019 11:59:53 (#4 of 162)

Me too. Though to be fair I'm doing it in the office when no-one's looking...

thisonehasalittlehat - 14 Nov 2019 12:01:35 (#5 of 162)

I've got 20.

Yersinia - 14 Nov 2019 13:23:24 (#6 of 162)

Me too.

elderberry - 14 Nov 2019 14:14:06 (#7 of 162)

Just finished it, and now terribly tempted to call my new kitten (NEW KITTEN!) Caboodle instead of Roisin dubh.

Rosie's better really, but suppose she's a boy.

Cordelia - 14 Nov 2019 14:58:31 (#8 of 162)

I think Caboodle would be a great name for a kitten!

I can’t get anymore clues by just flipping to the image for a second every now and again while no one’s around. I’ll have to look at it properly tonight.

Peacock - 14 Nov 2019 16:31:34 (#9 of 162)

  • milkman
  • the tiger who came to tea
  • the wind in the wilows
  • the kite runner
  • the old curiosity shop
  • Washington Black
  • the woman in the window

that's my limit as I don't read much

goldfinch - 14 Nov 2019 16:59:05 (#10 of 162)

I'm stuck on 10.

dreams99 - 14 Nov 2019 17:01:51 (#11 of 162)

6

Bodgit - 14 Nov 2019 17:08:20 (#12 of 162)

Oi Peacock! At least put it as a spoiler. I’d like to have a go myself before seeing all the answers.

Catspyjamas17 - 14 Nov 2019 17:10:29 (#13 of 162)

I've only got one so far (Toad Hall clue!), I really have no idea. I got another one by googling, and I had read the book but ten or more years ago and would never have remembered that detail for the clue. None of the rest ring any bells whatsoever.

StillCiars - 14 Nov 2019 17:16:29 (#14 of 162)

I've got a few by just treating them like crossword clues and basically going with 'say what you see'. Currently on 13.

Peacock - 14 Nov 2019 17:18:52 (#15 of 162)

Sorry Bodgit

Bodgit - 14 Nov 2019 17:36:01 (#16 of 162)

That’s ok. :) I managed to look away without seeing any I hadn’t already got.

crackfox - 15 Nov 2019 09:09:13 (#17 of 162)

Stuck on 13/20.

It's a mixed bag of clues - some cryptic, some blindingly obvious, some a bit annoying (the bookshop clue one is a bit infuriating and you wouldn't get it unless you either knew the book already or googled the name on the shop).

dreams99 - 15 Nov 2019 09:12:25 (#18 of 162)

My partner had done well, we're up to 11.

Peacock - 15 Nov 2019 09:39:20 (#19 of 162)

11 for me, all by myself

loving the lindley hall farm fenny drayton

goldfinch - 15 Nov 2019 09:51:59 (#20 of 162)

Can you give a hint for that one, Peacock?
