93 for Billings. I see Morgan is continuing his role as non-playing captain.

Didn't even know this was happening - thought the India tour was over. Is this the prelude to some ODI's and/or T20's?

Looks like a good run chase by England. Interesting to see Billings doing well - during the Test series I heard various pundits chuntering about how he's one of England's best players of spin and should have been in the team.

2017 fixture list is eccentric

64 for Bairstow batting at 3 today

Golden ducks for Morgan & Buttler

3 wkts for off spinner Parvez Rasool

Rashid & Willey 71 for the last wkt

England 282 all out off 48.5

moonriver - 12 Jan 2017 12:13:01 (#6 of 1614)

India A 283-4 off 39.4

Played two, won one, lost one

kalva44 - 12 Jan 2017 12:58:49 (#7 of 1614)

England tours to India have been split for a number if years as the players want to be home for Christmas.

moonriver - 12 Jan 2017 14:07:17 (#8 of 1614)

Points victory for India A over the two matches

Would be India A 7 England 6 on our league rules

moonriver - 13 Jan 2017 01:39:17 (#9 of 1614)

Rest of this minitour is

ODIs: Jan 15 (Pune), Jan 19 (Cuttack), Jan 22 (Kolkata)

t20s: Jan 26 (Kanpur), Jan 29 (Nagpur), Feb 1 (Bangalore)

cozzer - 13 Jan 2017 07:39:48 (#10 of 1614)

Double ton for Shakib al Hasan as Bangladesh put on 542/7 in two days at the Basin. Boult, Southee and Wagner all go for over 100.

moonriver - 13 Jan 2017 14:46:52 (#11 of 1614)

359 partnership with Mushfiqur Rahim

The Bangladesh record

spirali - 15 Jan 2017 12:07:24 (#12 of 1614)

England 350-7. Fine effort. Jason Roy is a hell of a player in this format.

Morgan got 28 - I haven't checked but it feels like his highest international score for some time.

LumpyBits - 15 Jan 2017 13:34:23 (#13 of 1614)

This could be a close one. India are doing well with the run rate, but not so good with their wickets.

moonriver - 15 Jan 2017 20:38:48 (#14 of 1614)

India 356-7 (48.1). Story of the winter.

500 the bare minimum in a test match, 350 in an ODI.

spirali - 15 Jan 2017 23:10:36 (#15 of 1614)

Just catching up with this. Not that surprised by the result I suppose, but to get there from 60-odd for 4.. well, that is amazing. Must have been an incredible partnership between Kohli (again) and Jadhav. The latter made 120 from 76 balls.

Yes, it was. The latter ended his innings batting on one leg due to cramp. There was a point where he missed a run by collapsing in pain in his crease after hitting the shot. Kohli is sublime.

ToyDivision - 16 Jan 2017 06:01:21 (#17 of 1614)

Poor old Bangladesh. Just lost to NZ after posting 595/8 in their first innings. That's the largest total by a defeated side ever. Fell apart today. 24 hours ago it was a nailed on draw.

Peacock - 16 Jan 2017 10:50:32 (#18 of 1614)

yep, amazing stuff

spirali - 17 Jan 2017 18:41:11 (#19 of 1614)

Without checking stats, I'd speculate that Kohli is currently the world's best batsman across all formats. I'm not sure that's been true of one player before (since the start of the T20 era, I mean).

Kohli was #1 in ODI and T20 around late December with a chance to overtake Smith in the Test rankings. But Smith scored a century in the subsequent Test so nobody has been ranked no. 1 in all 3 formats yet.
