Pujara 123, India 250/9.

lammaMia - 06 Dec 2018 16:34:12 (#2 of 274)

Pujara got out to a great piece of fielding. Others played too many loose shots.

kalva44 - 06 Dec 2018 21:04:28 (#3 of 274)

Way too many loose shots...just dreadful.Pujara played a true Dravid-like innings on a ground where Dravid scripted one of India's best wins of all time..don't think it's gonna happen this time

lammaMia - 07 Dec 2018 00:25:38 (#4 of 274)

Harris' mum is crying. Sweet!

lammaMia - 09 Dec 2018 16:37:01 (#5 of 274)

This is an engrossing game for a slow, low scoring affair. Good bowlers on a good pitch is great for Test cricket.

Michael Vaughan is capable of talking crap sometimes but he also comes up with sensible comments at times...he said the other day that he can't remember seeing a dull Test this year and I have to agree with him. At least, the ones I have seen or followed

TheSwearingBear - 10 Dec 2018 02:45:50 (#7 of 274)

Paine's gone, game over.

kalva44 - 10 Dec 2018 05:57:09 (#8 of 274)

Phew! 31 runs!

kalva44 - 10 Dec 2018 05:57:24 (#9 of 274)

Maybe I can still keep dreaming...for a little longer

TheSwearingBear - 10 Dec 2018 12:05:16 (#10 of 274)

Apparently Nathan Lyon's brother has been teaching him how to bat. Make him the coach!

A good game that went much longer than I expected.

TheSwearingBear - 10 Dec 2018 13:17:30 (#11 of 274)

BTW, that Hazelwood catch by Rahul looked pretty dodgy. But hey.

ToyDivision - 11 Dec 2018 01:09:00 (#12 of 274)

Hell of a monkey off India's back - having never won the first Test of a series in Oz before!!

Statistically, India ought to win from here (or at least not lose), although I can hear Deepak shushing my hex. Teams tend not to come back from 1-0 in any length of series, and although Australia pushed it close to the end, they looked inferior to me in every department, but especially the batting, and without Smith and Warner I don't see that improving. It could be as bad as the Ashes for them. England had lots of good moments in the first Test last year, but still lost it and the series 4-0...

kalva44 - 11 Dec 2018 04:59:51 (#13 of 274)

It got really close at the end especially while Starc and Cummings were together. Now onto Perth and hoping for another team performance.

lammaMia - 12 Dec 2018 22:33:14 (#14 of 274)

There is good news for both teams. Australia fell short by only about 15 runs in each innings. India won this without depending on Kohli.

kalva44 - 13 Dec 2018 05:37:01 (#15 of 274)

Big setback for Aussies with news Rohit is injured. Ashwin is out as well.

I would pick Bhuvi and Jadeja...they will score as many runs as Vihari will score

TheSwearingBear - 13 Dec 2018 05:50:06 (#16 of 274)

About now is the time for the ACB to do an urgent review of Smith's suspension.

TheSwearingBear - 13 Dec 2018 06:10:30 (#17 of 274)

And while they're at it, lets face facts, there's no compelling video evidence of Warner having sandpaper in his underpants

Moschops - 13 Dec 2018 07:06:30 (#18 of 274)

Though his usual facial expression is a clue

kalva44 - 13 Dec 2018 15:28:41 (#19 of 274)

Yep.. it was striking that the Aussie pacers were unable to get any reverse swing last match, compared with last year.. almost as striking as Starc’s loss of form and record since Cape Town

kalva44 - 14 Dec 2018 17:53:32 (#20 of 274)

Good to very good day for Australia. India were very disappointing and will really struggle facing the scoreboard pressure of 350plus on the first inns.
