I was thinking it was time to start a new thread. Was about to do so when just in time I noticed yours!

Lots of cricket going on around the world right now: Pakistan in South Africa, India in New Zealand (men and women), Sri Lanka in Australia, Nepal in the UAE.

NZ smash india in an odi, bowling them out for 92 and getting the runs in under 15 overs.

No Kohli or Dhoni though

kalva44 - 31 Jan 2019 15:32:53 (#4 of 245)

Briliant stuff from NZ.. feel sorry for the crowd who were shortchanged

Watching highlights of this now. Brilliant bowling from Boult and lots of smart catching.

Burns and Head put on 300 for the 4th wicket in Canberra, after the Aussies were 28/3

cozzer - 01 Feb 2019 10:17:07 (#7 of 245)

I just realised that that means that both teams in the Ashes might have an opener called Burns.

fogger - 01 Feb 2019 13:34:52 (#8 of 245)

Can we swap?

Karunaratne felled by a short ball and taken to hospital.

Sri Lanka score 304/9 in the fourth innings, thanks to an unbeaten 153 form Perera, to beat South Africa by one wicket.

dreams99 - 16 Feb 2019 13:36:54 (#11 of 245)

Just came here to post that. Last wicket stand of 78 in 16 overs to win it. Fernando got 6.

dreams99 - 16 Feb 2019 13:38:29 (#12 of 245)

Perera also got 51 in the first innings. Fernando took 8 wickets.

cozzer - 16 Feb 2019 13:39:31 (#13 of 245)

Can you score some runs, Fernando?

dreams99 - 16 Feb 2019 13:39:51 (#14 of 245)

Perera hit 5 6s, 3 of them in the last 3 complete overs. High risk strategy to get to the total.

He started out as a right hander and then became a left handler to emulate Sanath Jayasuriya. I am certain about the Jayasuriya part but it could be Gilchrist who switched to bat like Border.

That is exactly how much Lara scored against Australia in '99. Perera scored it against Rabada, Steyn and Philander too.

From what I saw of the highlights, Fernando is an utter rabbit who looked like getting out every ball, so I can see why Perera wanted to get it done quickly. It also seemed that Perera scored almost all his runs through the leg side - the only off side scoring shot I recall was a reverse sweep. Although the usual caveat about highlights packages applies. What an absolutely extraordinary innings.

Sri Lankans will curse the finger of Koertzen that got Sangakkara out at Hobart again.

dreams99 - 19 Feb 2019 13:54:37 (#20 of 245)

Scotland beat Oman in an ODI, bowling them out for 24 and scoring the runs in 20 balls:
