RCB crumbling at 53/6 against champions CSK.

Harbajan (who must be in his late fifties by now) opened the bowling and took three wickets (Kohli, ABDeV and Moeen).

djsuggz - 23 Mar 2019 15:25:32 (#2 of 88)

53/7

djsuggz - 23 Mar 2019 15:35:54 (#3 of 88)

59/8.

djsuggz - 23 Mar 2019 15:47:54 (#4 of 88)

70/9

djsuggz - 23 Mar 2019 15:51:33 (#5 of 88)

70 ao

That’s going to be a short game.

djsuggz - 23 Mar 2019 16:35:01 (#6 of 88)

Maybe not.

CSK chasing at a very gentle pace. 16/1 off 6. Behind the run rate!

djsuggz - 23 Mar 2019 16:42:26 (#7 of 88)

Easing through the gears now. 32/1.

djsuggz - 24 Mar 2019 11:02:24 (#8 of 88)

Day Two

SRH making a fast start against KKR. Warner (spit) doing the damage.

54/0 off 6.0

djsuggz - 24 Mar 2019 11:36:34 (#9 of 88)

118/1 off 13.

Warner 74*

Bairstow the man out, for 39.

djsuggz - 24 Mar 2019 11:49:06 (#10 of 88)

Out to a blinder at Extra Cover. 85 off 53.

djsuggz - 24 Mar 2019 14:24:20 (#11 of 88)

Amazing from KKR, chasing 182. Nowhere after 16 overs, but 65 off 26 balls gets them over the line with two balls to spare. Ferocious hitting from ‘Dre Russell.

djsuggz - 24 Mar 2019 15:16:46 (#12 of 88)

Ricky Ponting’s Delhi Capitals off to a modest start against Mumbai Indians in the second match of the day.

That said, Colin Ingram’s just heaved a six.

62/2 off 8.0

djsuggz - 24 Mar 2019 16:30:15 (#13 of 88)

Wow. I went for a run, and DC took off!

Rishad Pant smashes 78 off 27 balls. 213/6 off 20.0.

Ashwin gets some flak for running Buttler out at non-strikers end

fogger - 25 Mar 2019 18:51:01 (#15 of 88)

I don't have a problem with that. Once the bowler has released the ball you can do what you like. Until then, stay behind the line. It's not rocket surgery.

cozzer - 25 Mar 2019 20:59:20 (#16 of 88)

I would agree with that, there seem to be a lot of nonsense comments on twitter. Except that in this report, it says that Buttler was in the crease when Ashwin arrived at the stumps, but Ashwin stopped and waited for Buttler to move forward. Which is a bit less straightforward.

Hmm. I see your point. Buttler wasn't exactly trying to steal second base; just kinda mooching forward.

lammaMia - 25 Mar 2019 21:13:39 (#18 of 88)

MCC changed the rules. I didn't know you can handle the ball now.

Re. the Buttler dismissal - I had little/no sympathy for him when it happened in that ODI v SL some years back, and I was expecting to feel the same about this one... but having seen the vid, it's actually quite different. I don't think it should have been given out, because as far as I can see he was still in his crease at the moment when Ashwin would normally have delivered the ball, which is the criterion under the Laws.

kalva44 - 26 Mar 2019 17:32:24 (#20 of 88)

Having said that, there is a tweet doing the rounds that show that he was out of the crease on at least 3 occasions during that same over.

Remember the saying about "fool me once..." George W mangled it but I would have thought that the fact that Buttler has already been run out like this once before in his not-very long career is a warning in itself.

Ashwin is a prick though...just generally
