No Anderson or Broad, Leach and Woakes in. I'm slightly surprised.

cozzer - 07 Dec 2021 23:58:21 (#2 of 111)

What's the blue and green flag in between the Aboriginal one and the St George's Cross?

Atticus - 08 Dec 2021 00:02:24 (#3 of 111)

Does it have a white arch and star thingy in the centre?

cozzer - 08 Dec 2021 00:03:08 (#4 of 111)

I couldn't see, it wasn't hanging straight.

Atticus - 08 Dec 2021 00:05:33 (#5 of 111)

OK. Not sure. The flag I found was for the Torres Strait but that's nowhere near the venues.

cozzer - 08 Dec 2021 00:07:01 (#6 of 111)

I mean, they're in Queensland, so Torres Strait isn't a crazy shout.

cozzer - 08 Dec 2021 00:07:44 (#7 of 111)

I've looked, I think that's the one, thanks.

Atticus - 08 Dec 2021 00:13:41 (#8 of 111)

Fluke!

My fee is $500.

The good kind, not Australian monopoly money.

spirali - 08 Dec 2021 00:33:29 (#9 of 111)

Burns out first ball, Malan soon after, Root gone for 0, England 11-3. Nightmarish stuff.

Atticus - 08 Dec 2021 00:34:02 (#10 of 111)

11-3?

Fucksticks.

spirali - 08 Dec 2021 08:53:53 (#11 of 111)

Feel sorry for Rory Burns. Whatever else he may achieve in cricket, it's likely he will primarily be remembered for his first baller here.

nac1001 - 08 Dec 2021 08:58:55 (#12 of 111)

His 6th duck of the year. Only Bumrah has more.

spirali - 08 Dec 2021 09:09:35 (#13 of 111)

In an alternate universe where Nasser's disastrous decision to put the Aussies in here in 2002 had never happened, would Root have chosen to bowl first?

barkis - 08 Dec 2021 09:11:20 (#14 of 111)

#13

If he had you can be sure it would have been put down to fear of the Australian attack.

cozzer - 08 Dec 2021 09:17:07 (#15 of 111)

Not if Woakes and Robinson had reduced Australia to 11/3

kalva44 - 08 Dec 2021 09:45:54 (#16 of 111)

#11- re:Burns; I’ll always remember him for the fact that I was there at The Oval when he practically got a standing ovation for reaching 50(!) and got out next ball!!!

That was truly awful last night.

DugDug - 08 Dec 2021 23:16:35 (#17 of 111)

Burns has been solid for England, but last night he got a fast swinging yorker on leg stick. Tough. The Aussie bowlers though, were they good or were they good? Really looking forward to seeing if Robinson, Woakes and Wood can match them.

cozzer - 08 Dec 2021 23:42:09 (#18 of 111)

Nice first over from Robinson. Woakes a bit more mixed so far.

DugDug - 09 Dec 2021 02:31:26 (#19 of 111)

Good bowling from England I thought. Warner very lucky, not fluent but still around at lunch. Labuschagne was excellent, though - showing how to leave.

This is like the 90s all over again
