Probably a toss up between Charlize Theron or Nicole Kidman in terms of best performances in differing roles for film.

Don’t really watch a lot of tv, but June Brown is pretty great.

Jennifer Connelly seems to have had a fun and varied career with a few stand out performances. In fact she's been in the business 35 years now, with decades ahead of her.

Meryl Streep. She becomes each different characters, as Brando and Guinness used to do.

Helen Daniels.

I saw Jodie Foster recently in Panic Room, the movie was OK, but she was excellent. Probably in my top three actresses

Good shout Peacock.

Jodie Foster is ace and a top director as well.

Actress?

Lady actors.

Much better.

solomongursky - 22 May 2019 13:27:10 (#10 of 108)

Jodie Foster is fantastic, she elevates films like Inside Man or Flight Plan. And she's a child star who isn't mad or on drugs.

popstar7 - 22 May 2019 13:29:55 (#11 of 108)

Based on only two films, Gemma Arterton.

wickeltisch - 22 May 2019 13:35:04 (#12 of 108)

Judi Dench.

She looks great and she's a good actress. Her 'Philomena' was fantastic.

Julie Walters comes second. I've liked her ever since "Educating Rita" and even that horrible film "Mamma Mia" couldn't change that.

Felicia 'Snoop' Pearson has an interesting story:

Won't mean alot unless you've seen The Wire.

Keri Russell. Underrated.

Monica Dolan.

moto748 - 22 May 2019 13:56:55 (#16 of 108)

Stockard Channing

Gene Tierney

Gena Rowlands

yumyum - 22 May 2019 13:57:12 (#17 of 108)

Janet McTeer equal first with Fiona Shaw. Saw a lot of their stage work over the years and they are both magnificent.

TheSwearingBear - 22 May 2019 14:01:20 (#18 of 108)

Don't think I have a favourite, but Cate Blanchett's very bloody good.

solomongursky - 22 May 2019 14:03:03 (#19 of 108)

Annette Bening is awesome.

moto748 - 22 May 2019 14:10:52 (#20 of 108)

Ooh, can I add her? Yes, she's great, always.
