How do you like your toast?

Hot buttered, with avocado, under beans, cheese toastie? A thread for toast.

Yes

I like mine quite dark with salted butter and either marmalade or marmite. Never jam.

Browned, not burnt, with real butter. Sometimes with Marmite, or cheese; occasionally, jam.

with PB, cheese (sliced and grated), caramalised onion jam, meat or quorn, and microwaved just enough to melt the cheese, onion jam and PB

Quite dark, butter (salted butter is for the English and Bretons) and either jam or marmite. Don't have toast very often though.

PB - peanut butter?

Toasted mini baguettes with real butter.

With onion jam?

I often have toast and hummus for lunch.

for a light snack, with cheese, PB and jam will do.

can swap the PB and jam for marmite or honey (not honey with jam though)

As much butter as I can cram into it. I’ve been known to sprinkle salt on it, too.

As soldiers dipped in soft boiled or coddled eggs.

I haven't gone that far yet, Laz!

I like peanut butter and banana on toast for a snack.

goldfinch - 17 Jan 2019 16:14:22 (#14 of 341)

Toast and eggs are great, scrambled or poached for me.

Pimento cheese makes a fantastic toast topping or toasted sandwich filling

Dayraven - 17 Jan 2019 16:24:36 (#16 of 341)

Raw.

solomongursky - 17 Jan 2019 16:26:00 (#17 of 341)

Raw bread has fewer calories than toasted.

I'm not sure that's true. Surely the reaction is basically the Maillard reaction, and that is going to have some products that are non-digestible and thus non-calorific. You're not adding anything.

FrankieTeardrop - 17 Jan 2019 16:32:38 (#19 of 341)

Done on one side (apparently)

solomongursky - 17 Jan 2019 16:33:41 (#20 of 341)

Oh.
