I've got a kilo of strawberries - has anyone got a good ice cream recipe?

Half a can of condensed milk. What do you do with the other half?

HouseOfLametta - 11 Jul 2019 16:45:05 (#3 of 59)

Massage.

JohnIlly - 11 Jul 2019 16:46:02 (#4 of 59)

It's a bit sticky for a massage.

Or so I've heard.

My Dad would make sandwiches with it. I could never see the attraction myself but then, I wasn't a kid during rationing.

My mother used it to make Swiss Milk Toffee which is the Aberdonian name for tablet. Even as a child I found it a bit too sweet.

Even as a child I found it a bit too sweet.

Exactly. I had a sweet tooth but, not that sweet.

TommyDGNR8 - 11 Jul 2019 17:31:07 (#8 of 59)

Fucking wrongmos.

Tablet is the bastard offspring of nectar and ambrosia. The true food of the gods.

And 100% carbs, so I can't have any.

My dad made condensed milk sandwiches as well. He also made brown sugar sandwiches and aero sandwiches.

AlanII - 11 Jul 2019 17:31:54 (#10 of 59)

Oh yeah, sugar sandwiches were great.

HouseOfLametta - 11 Jul 2019 17:37:22 (#11 of 59)

Aero sandwiches. This has legs.

Cordelia - 11 Jul 2019 17:41:00 (#12 of 59)

Mint flavour aero? Or chocolate?

HouseOfLametta - 11 Jul 2019 17:42:22 (#13 of 59)

Do they do orange ones? Did I imagine that?

AlanII - 11 Jul 2019 17:44:43 (#14 of 59)

They certainly used to have orange ones.

phantlers - 11 Jul 2019 17:52:45 (#15 of 59)

Aldi do an ersatz Aero in orange, mint or vanilla and its a big bar.

Leftie - 11 Jul 2019 18:27:33 (#16 of 59)

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Stellata - 11 Jul 2019 18:27:48 (#17 of 59)

He made them with mint and chocolate flavour, I think. Sometimes they really did have legs - he worked down a mine and the mice used to scuttle away with them.

I had condensed milk sandwiches as a kid. And brown sugar sarnies. But mostly lettuce sandwiches. Which wasn't as daft as it sounds, given a lettuce that actually tastes of something. A cos, in other words.

Stellata - 11 Jul 2019 18:32:52 (#19 of 59)

Did you eat them straight away? I’d imagine just a lettuce sandwich would get quite soggy.

I had honey sandwiches. Bleurgh.

And 100% carbs

Surely there's a fair bit of fat in there too.
