Foie gras

Insects

upgoerfive - 19 Feb 2021 15:26:48 (#3 of 163)

Tomato ketchup. Just the smell of it makes me gop. I would never contemplate even tasting the stuff.

FleurDuMal - 19 Feb 2021 15:31:11 (#4 of 163)

Custard. Filthy stuff.

AdonisBlue - 19 Feb 2021 15:34:21 (#5 of 163)

Fresh tomatoes. They are Satan's testicles full of his clear spunk.

elderberry - 19 Feb 2021 15:41:18 (#6 of 163)

Anything that is basically raw fish. Have you seen the size of tapeworms those things can carry?

ReverendBlueJeans - 19 Feb 2021 15:43:24 (#7 of 163)

Most seafood, especially anything that looks as if it could still dust itself off and swim away (prawns etc).

Salmon and fish suppers are OK.

TheExcession - 19 Feb 2021 15:46:57 (#8 of 163)

I'm really not keen on innards (liver, kidneys etc.) nor any vegetables that taste cabbagey or carroty. I'll try most foods at least once though. If you don't try you don't find out if you like them or not.

Snarlygog - 19 Feb 2021 15:54:24 (#9 of 163)

Mint, Anaseed and fennel don't agree with me.

tasselhoff - 19 Feb 2021 16:15:14 (#10 of 163)

Andouillette, or anything else tripey that smells of poo.

elderberry - 19 Feb 2021 16:20:41 (#11 of 163)

I don't like really hot foods either - mild chilli only. Not rocket except with egg mayonnaise to smother it.

I'm so dull.

TommyDGNR8 - 19 Feb 2021 16:25:11 (#12 of 163)

Animals - lean muscle is OK, you can keep the rest.

Plants - if it's green, don't fucking cook it!

Fish - I could live on proper fish - trout, sea bass, haddock, tuna, salmon - lovely. You can shove your calamari, shellfish and all the rest where the sun don't shine, though.

CarlosFandango - 19 Feb 2021 16:28:01 (#13 of 163)

Andouillette - yes!

Can be a less-than pleasant experience. I have however had versions that were entirely free of intestinal taint and downright delicious. Some of the Scandi festering fish preservation concoctions are way more heave-worthy.

Generally though if something has an established tradition of being edible I'll very happily edible it.

There are things which others rave over but which leave me ambivalent, or puzzled. Sweet chestnuts. Yeah, fine. They're okay in a slighty sweet, mild kind of way. But the run-up to Christmas always features people positively salivating at the prospect in, what seems to me, to be as unwarratned as it is unseemly.

GrrrIbdis - 19 Feb 2021 16:28:12 (#14 of 163)

Rot. Even a hint of gameyness is too much.

CarlosFandango - 19 Feb 2021 16:28:55 (#15 of 163)

Pfft.

Can't beat a well-hung cock pheasant.

ReverendBlueJeans - 19 Feb 2021 16:29:21 (#16 of 163)

Plants - if it's green, don't !$£&%$ cook it!

Kale - a bit crunchy and scratchy without a bit of cookery, shurely?

elderberry - 19 Feb 2021 16:31:01 (#17 of 163)

nettles nicer in soup than in salad imo

elderberry - 19 Feb 2021 16:32:11 (#18 of 163)

but maybe that's just because I'm a dullard who doesn't like rocket and hot chilli

Lento_ - 19 Feb 2021 16:35:58 (#19 of 163)

I've never enjoyed eating pasta. The flavour is fine, but there's something about the texture I find really off putting. I'd eat it if I had to, but never choose it.

I also don't like coffee. Smells great, and some coffee flavoured stuff is alright, but give me a cup of tea over coffee any day.

I'm pretty sure I'd be banned from entering Italy if they saw this post.

elderberry - 19 Feb 2021 16:39:39 (#20 of 163)

I don't even like the smell of coffee.
