MadamGeorge - 04 Aug 2015 08:06:15 (#7 of 43)

At the weekend I was talking to an old guy (even older than me) who has been a season ticket holder for over 30 years, he had arranged his visit to Germany to see his family but also the friendly against Hoffenheim on Saturday (0-0 draw). He was pretty confident that they would stay up.

Moschops - 04 Aug 2015 08:19:35 (#8 of 43)

Fuck Off Bournemouth. Twice I have paid real money to watch you roll over for Forest, neither time did you oblige.

invicta - 04 Aug 2015 08:48:57 (#9 of 43)

You'll gave to get your chairman to hunt down some cherries.

TommyDGNR8 - 04 Aug 2015 08:51:03 (#10 of 43)

My first supervisor when I worked in Poole reserved an unusual hatred for Bournemouth. His grandfather had played for Boscombe and my supervisor absolutely hated that the club was now called AFC Bournemouth.

invicta - 04 Aug 2015 09:00:41 (#11 of 43)

It is a shame. AFC B&B has a nicely appropriate ring to it.

Moschops - 04 Aug 2015 09:02:22 (#12 of 43)

Is that pronounced BampersandampB ?

invicta - 04 Aug 2015 09:11:42 (#13 of 43)

B and B. JTT has a bit of a problem with that character.

I like the Bomo kit I must say:

Bournemouth sign Max Gradel. Again.

I remember watching him when he was there on loan a few years back and he was consistently the best player on the pitch. Still lightning quick, apparently.

Last time I saw Bournemouth play was at the start of the 2009/10 season, and it was memorable as Rochdale put on one of the best away performances I have seen from them to win 4-0, and avenge Bournemouth's defeat of us at Scotland by the same score at the end of the previous season. Didn't manage to get the next few games between us before the return of Eddie Howe and the cash injection saw you rocket up the table.

My eldest kid's best friend at school's Dad is a Bournemouth fan though, a season ticket holder who has been making the trip down from North London pretty consistently for a good few years now, so I am predisposed to wish you well for the coming season. The Burnley connection notwithstanding, I think Eddie Howe is a great manager who plays good football so it would also be good to see him do well.

I'm glad the thread is properly named The AFC Bournemouth Thread to save any confusion with Bournemouth F.C.

CloakAndDagger - 18 Aug 2015 09:05:35 (#18 of 43)

Well, good to see the new offside law properly enforced. Coutinho actually attempted to make contact with the ball from a four yard offside position, missed and it fell to Benteke who stuck it in. So much for "showing an obvious movement towards the ball that distracts an opponent" being now offside.

Couple that with a pretty harshly disallowed opener from Bournemouth and I think they're entitled to feel pretty hard done by.

Jacob_Richter - 18 Aug 2015 09:13:21 (#19 of 43)

You mean refereeing decisions favoured Liverpool? At Anfield?

Moschops - 18 Aug 2015 09:20:19 (#20 of 43)

Bomo will be down by March, Liverpool may actually need those points to get in the Europa League.
