My McDonald's order is double cheeseburger, mayo chicken and large fries. Big Mac, Big Schmac.

BBBilly - 27 Feb 2017 17:51:14 (#2 of 611)

Home made, plenty of black pepper, topped with bacon and cheese, caramelised onion chutney.

helenskywalker - 27 Feb 2017 17:57:15 (#3 of 611)

I miss the BK Mushroom Double Swiss. That was ace.

Is this the thread to talk about the descent of the US into fascism?

It is one of the mysteries of our time that the enjoyment of a burger decreases exponentially with its cost and quality.

£20 hand-reared organic efforts in specialist restaurants are far less enjoyable than the £1.50 god-knows-what-burger with onion from the van outside the football ground.

Cat and horse

Mushroom Double Swiss. Oh yes!

fogger - 27 Feb 2017 18:29:07 (#8 of 611)

Mushroom Double Swiss? Was that one of those short-lived guest burgers that I never order?

mememe - 27 Feb 2017 18:39:26 (#9 of 611)

Five Guys cheeseburger with mustard, ketchup, tomatoes, pickles and jalapeños.

Cannot be beaten.

HerrWalrus - 27 Feb 2017 18:42:33 (#10 of 611)

Still much to be said for a well done steak. With sauce.

Tadagee - 27 Feb 2017 18:43:17 (#11 of 611)

Five guys is too damn expensive.

Still much to be said for a well done steak.

Such as 'who ruined this steak?'

CloakAndDagger - 27 Feb 2017 18:43:53 (#12 of 611)

I've been known to make burgers with a cheese and chorizo mix in the middle of the patty. They are, needless to say, feckin' awesome. Get some bacon on there, extra cheese, lettuce and tomato. Lovely.

mememe - 27 Feb 2017 18:44:07 (#13 of 611)

Five guys is too damn expensive.

Worth every cent. Plus keeps the riffraff in McDonalds.

baddams - 27 Feb 2017 19:11:22 (#14 of 611)

Have you tried the 7 Bone place in town, C&D?

BBBilly - 27 Feb 2017 19:22:44 (#15 of 611)

I'm staying in London tonight, and there's a burger place just up the road. I will report back.

zardoz - 27 Feb 2017 19:24:48 (#16 of 611)

Five Guys is just barely better than Burger King, much more expensive, and remarkably hideous inside. In London, the place for a premium burger is Honest.

fogger - 27 Feb 2017 19:35:19 (#17 of 611)

Five Guys is weird as it's not fast food, but looks like it should be. And is expensive. Didn't think it was any better than countless other places, such as here:

My home burgers are now served in brioche buns.

fogger - 27 Feb 2017 19:35:52 (#18 of 611)

In London, the place for a premium burger is Hache.

Another vote for the Mushroom Double Swiss. Yer actual food of the fucking Gods.

baddams - 27 Feb 2017 20:12:17 (#20 of 611)

Thoughts on Byron? It's where I've taken The Nippers the last couple of times we've been to London (Mainly because they sell London Pride). Pretty average 'high end' burgers - all 'nice meat but a bit greasy'.
