Loosely based on all the other Predicto games, here's yet another chance to prove that you know more about English league football than a bunch of other internet randoms.

Each of the four English professional leagues has been split into four equally-sized groups. All you have to do is pick the team out of each group that will score most league points over the upcoming season. Every point your selections score will be added together to give a final total, and whoever gets the highest total wins this lovely sash*.

*-loveliness of sash may vary.

Let's look, as an example, at last year's Prem. If you picked Arsenal, Everton, West Ham and Bournemouth, you would have ended up with 75pts for Arsenal, 61 for Everton, 45 for West Ham and 46 for Bomo - 227 in total.

If you had looked through League One and picked Scunthorpe, MK Dons, Bury and Gillingham, you would have scored 82+61+50+50 = 243 points.

The first matches of the season will kick off at 19:45 on Friday 4th August with the Championship matches between Nottm Forest/Millwall and Sunderland/Derby. You'll need to get your selections in by then - if you select later than this you'll be deducted three times the points your teams have scored in the league from any matches completed or in progress.

So, the following 4 posts will give you the groups - remember it's one (only) out of each of the sixteen groups below.

I will certainly attempt this Vendy, just wondering whether to try and do any research on it or just write down a random list of names. I suspect the random list would probably get me more points.
