I picked up a modern pair of football boots in the shoe shop the other day and couldn’t believe how light they were. They were like plastic carrier bags.

Picked up as in literally picked up, or picked up as in bought and took home as you launch your bid for MLS stardom?

TinyMcOtter - 23 Apr 2018 06:40:02 (#3 of 74)

The last time I played an 11 a side game I found the modern light boots to be scarily lacking in protection. It made me think twice about some of the more physical aspects of the tackling game. Which I suppose is kind of the point with the modern game.

A goal and two assists for Jadon Sancho for Dortmund yesterday -

Whither the metatarsal injuries of yesteryear?

SteveFrench - 23 Apr 2018 11:36:07 (#6 of 74)

Just picked them up to look, Bonsu. I haven’t played an 11 a side game in 15 years!

dreams99 - 23 Apr 2018 11:38:42 (#7 of 74)

I haven't played one in 22 years. I remember when I was 17 I couldn't imagine a time when I wasn't plying football. Last played 5 a side about 10 years ago.

I'm gonna have to stop soon I think, or get much fitter. One of these scenarios is far more likely

In surprising news, Klopp thinks Liverpool Britain should remain in Europe;

rexit-makes-no-sense-and-britain-should-vote-again-says-jurgen-klopp

(not an especially interesting article, German thinks being in the EU is better than not being in the EU, but there you go)

HerrWalrus - 23 Apr 2018 16:17:23 (#13 of 74)

Is there a famous footballer or manager who supports Brexit? I'm sure there must be, just never seen them quoted.

widenation - 23 Apr 2018 16:19:42 (#14 of 74)

Düsseldorf look set for a return to the Bundesliga. 2nd spot is a fight between Nurnberg and Holstein Kiel who play one another tonight.

Bonusy - 23 Apr 2018 16:21:18 (#15 of 74)

Possibly not the most creditable source, but BSA put himself as a Brexit man in an interview with... err... Paddy Power:

widenation - 23 Apr 2018 16:21:58 (#16 of 74)

Sol Campbell was a leave supporter.

Moschops - 23 Apr 2018 16:22:13 (#17 of 74)

Of course he was.

Moschops - 23 Apr 2018 16:22:20 (#18 of 74)

The twat.

Arjuna - 23 Apr 2018 16:31:32 (#19 of 74)

There must be other 'jobs for the boys' style managers who would be brexiters.

Moschops - 23 Apr 2018 16:32:17 (#20 of 74)

I reckon Pardew would be a Brexiter. Stuart Pearce as well, depressingly.
