Ciddy Europe Ban?

Uefa investigators want Manchester City to be banned from the Champions League for a season if they are found guilty of breaking financial rules.

However, according to one well-placed source, a final decision is yet to be made by chief investigator Yves Leterme.

Do Spuds have any sort of hoolie element? I don't think I've ever heard of them.

This is NOT a challenge, if your carer is reading this to you.

They'd only end up stanley-knifing themselves in true City fashion

Ciddy have been referred to Uefa's Financial Control Body for a telling off.

They were fined £49m last time, perhaps UEFA will cash in again rather than enforce a ban.

"Don't do it again again. We don't want to be put in a position where we have to do something about PSG"

Many people had high hopes for Financial Fair Play but its very hard to believe that UEFA have proven competent enough to implement it in a consistent and effective matter.

Uefa will give Ciddy probably around £70m for their Big Cup participation this year, so I can see why they might be leaning toward a ban and not a fine

Arjuna - 16 May 2019 10:31:14 (#23 of 33)

But they will give money out to whoever participates.

I have no idea what they will do, they are making it up as they go along.

Any ban wouldn't be for the next season, fwiw.

fogger - 16 May 2019 10:36:32 (#25 of 33)

Maybe it's a cunning plan - the total randomness of punishments and implementation designed to freak out clubs into towing the line, in case they decide offenders have to play all their home matches with players wearing blindfolds.

Arjuna - 16 May 2019 10:41:51 (#26 of 33)

So what would happen if a club won the big cup and were then found guilty of financial mismanagement? Would they be stripped of the title? Or would an asterisk go after their name? City haven't presented that problem but have picked up a fair few domestic titles in the last few years.

Bonusy - 16 May 2019 10:53:58 (#27 of 33)

Maybe they would be presented with some Swiss fudge after the game instead of the Big Cup

cozzer - 16 May 2019 10:57:10 (#28 of 33)

toeing the line, ffs

fogger - 16 May 2019 11:09:09 (#29 of 33)

Nope, towing. Like in a tug of war.

cozzer - 16 May 2019 11:10:57 (#30 of 33)

You don't tow stuff in a tug of war. You tug it. anyway, it's definitely toeing.

Bonusy - 16 May 2019 11:14:48 (#31 of 33)

Depends. If the other team are shit lightweights then you would be towing them

can't believe my Swiss fudge/Brighton rock reference was TOTALLY IGNORED, I'm wasted on you people

fogger - 20 May 2019 11:10:18 (#32 of 33)

Pep's response to the journo's FFP question sounds a bit like Don Corleone.

Arjuna - 20 May 2019 11:54:26 (#33 of 33)

Or Don Revie
