Is there much happening at the moment?

davedanon - 29 Apr 2020 19:43:50 (#2 of 334)

Nah.

Shouldn't have bothered, really.

Tinymcsmithy - 29 Apr 2020 19:48:57 (#3 of 334)

I haven’t even followed the footy much. Have Arsenal won the league?

thisonehasalittlehat - 29 Apr 2020 19:50:36 (#4 of 334)

Who has won the plague?

thisonehasalittlehat - 29 Apr 2020 19:50:50 (#5 of 334)

Whoops. Awkward autocorrect.

davedanon - 29 Apr 2020 19:52:39 (#6 of 334)

TheDonald has unfollowed theModi. A lot of angst in India over this apparently.

Arjuna - 29 Apr 2020 21:32:12 (#9 of 334)

Poland is planning a presidential election on May 10th. By post.

Postal workers aren't happy so the government is offering them more money and letting them work alongside a family member.

Radio 4 seems to have even longer Here's Gary With the Sport slots in the Today programme than it did pre-lockdown.

nac1001 - 30 Apr 2020 09:25:11 (#12 of 334)

Mostly quite boring interviews with locked down stars

Teenagers wanting to drive in Georgia no longer need a driving test, just parents' approval:

Arjuna - 30 Apr 2020 11:57:52 (#14 of 334)

Parents approval could be tougher than a driving test

Postal workers aren't happy so the government is offering them more money and letting them work alongside a family member.

I'm sure their family members are thrilled!

British Airways has told staff that its Gatwick airport operation may not reopen after the coronavirus pandemic passes.

dreams99 - 30 Apr 2020 17:33:18 (#17 of 334)

That's Gatwick stuffed.

Tadagee - 30 Apr 2020 17:34:03 (#18 of 334)

oh ffs.

Verdigris - 30 Apr 2020 19:08:14 (#19 of 334)

It'll make a good third runway. That'll save some dosh for something useful, like zero carbon energy/transport/housing.

On 25th Jan 2017, BA (were?) moved from the North Terminal - which they had almost exclusive use of - to the South Terminal, with easyJet moving in the opposite direction to take effectively exclusive hold of the North Terminal.

Today, easyJet is Britain’s biggest airline by passenger numbers, and the largest operator at Gatwick by some distance. It will carry almost 20 million passengers in and out of the airport this year, more than twice as many as the second-placed carrier, British Airways.

https://www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/gatwick-terminal-swap-simon-calder-travel-a6997351.html

More interesting is that BA's Gatwick flight crews are generally on lesser pay and pension deals than those of their (generally longer serving) equivalents, based out of Heathrow.
