That's enough of that.

Verdigris - 17 May 2020 09:21:18 (#4 of 1643)

He started it, Miss!

The rascal sneaked in whilst I was a-pondering.

Transition to Greatness

Is there a name for apocalyptic-stylee belief? "Transition to Greatness" is very reminiscent of "phase transition", so beloved of new age "thinking" - the idea that there will be a sudden event where order is created from chaos.

I know several people who have embraced trump beause they believe he is the harbinger f a phase transition. It's so shit.

bossab2 - 17 May 2020 09:28:39 (#6 of 1643)

cf Age of Aquarius

quartus - 17 May 2020 09:33:59 (#7 of 1643)

By using that slogan, he's admitting the failure of 'Keep America Great'.

Arjuna - 17 May 2020 09:46:54 (#8 of 1643)

So Trump is now transgreat?

Pixiedust - 17 May 2020 09:54:35 (#9 of 1643)

I don't think the EvanTaliban would approve of that.

slimpickins - 17 May 2020 09:56:39 (#10 of 1643)

TTG isn't going to look as good on a hat, it doesn't form a word and it's clumsy to say. They can't shorten it in the logical way either because 'trans' is a loaded word for them.

I bet it was thought up by Kushner.

Arjuna - 17 May 2020 10:04:26 (#11 of 1643)

it is harder to go for the cheap shot when actually in power, although Trump does keep trying, but even so this slogan is unwieldy.

has he built the wall yet?

Ebadlun - 17 May 2020 10:06:11 (#12 of 1643)

Some bits of fence here and there, so yeah, near enough.

Ebadlun - 17 May 2020 10:06:50 (#13 of 1643)

On December 17, 2019, acting Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection Mark Morgan stated that 93 miles of new wall has been built during the Trump administration; according to CBP figures, at least 90 miles of that replaced existing structures.[13] A private organization called We Build the Wall has constructed 0.5 miles (0.80 km) of new wall on private property near El Paso, Texas, with Trump's encouragement.

Arjuna - 17 May 2020 10:16:18 (#14 of 1643)

but that's someone else's fault?

slimpickins - 17 May 2020 10:16:57 (#15 of 1643)

These two stories would pair nicely in a campaign ad:

thePiMan - 17 May 2020 10:32:41 (#16 of 1643)

David Wohl has been using the hashtag KAGA, as in Keep America Great Again, the stupid is strong with that family.

Ebadlun - 17 May 2020 10:34:12 (#17 of 1643)

What about 'Get America out of the bottom quartile for every meaninful metric of wellbeing?'

pranzingfrogg - 17 May 2020 10:47:13 (#18 of 1643)

Meaningless, I know, but it’s just occurred to me that “Hail Trump” is an anagram of “Triumphal”. Nobody tell his cult.
