Fantasy Premier League 20/21

The ink is barely dry on Epping Forest’s sash but here we go again. Rant about the new positions, changes to the bonus points, and 59th minute substitutions to your heart’s content.

If you were in the JtT league last season you should added automatically, but new players are welcome - the joining link is https://fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/auto-join/8a12o4

I’ve also set up a head-to-head league for us, anyone who wants to play (no auto-renewal for h2h leagues) should use this link: https://fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/auto-join/mvykgp

Aubameyang and Rashford being midfielders is very weird. Would make more sense to make Salah and Mane strikers.

In

CaptainBlack - 15 Aug 2020 17:57:36 (#3 of 107)

Anybody fancy a Fantasy Draft League?

Vendor - 15 Aug 2020 18:06:08 (#4 of 107)

On the app, Kalvin Phillips is in a Liverpool kit.

Vendor - 15 Aug 2020 18:08:42 (#5 of 107)

And Timo Werner is in a Burnley kit.

They only really class central strikers as forwards in the game don't they? Which for Pool would be Firmino I'm guessing.

Wide players, regardless of them being forwards, have tended to be classed as midfielders in the past as well.

Leeds have 3 keepers and 1 forward. Boring.

Anybody fancy a Fantasy Draft League?

Yes.

CaptainBlack - 15 Aug 2020 22:46:48 (#9 of 107)

Okay, if there's enough interest I'll set up a league. This is where you take turns to grab the best players - which nobody else can have too - and then you're stuck with them, come what may.

dmlc133 - 15 Aug 2020 23:42:42 (#10 of 107)

I’ll give the draft a go too this year.

Vendor - 16 Aug 2020 06:30:04 (#11 of 107)

me three.

BigJoe - 16 Aug 2020 06:41:48 (#12 of 107)

Entered - though it wouldn't let me pause my choices and come back so filled it out with low cost Leeds players until I get chance to look proper.

Catspyjamas17 - 16 Aug 2020 08:25:21 (#13 of 107)

I'm in. What's the difference with the head to head league v the JTT one?

CaptainBlack - 16 Aug 2020 12:11:56 (#14 of 107)

I think I've set up a Draft league. Can anybody interested log in to the draft option and join league with the code gp8unc

Tell me if this doesn't work. I'm new to this.

I've set the draft date to Monday 7th Sept at 8pm.

Vendor - 16 Aug 2020 13:48:18 (#15 of 107)

In a head-to-head league, you're in a group of (usually 20) players. Each gameweek corresponds to a head-to-head match played between two players, so say you and I are in a league and we play each other in week one, and I score 30 and you score 35, you win that game and get 3 league points. When we play the return game in week 19, and we both score 40 points, that's one league point each for the draw.At the end of the season, whoever is top of the league table wins the sash.

Vendor - 16 Aug 2020 13:52:40 (#16 of 107)

In for the Daft League.

Catspyjamas17 - 16 Aug 2020 14:15:07 (#17 of 107)

I see, thanks Vendor.

Catspyjamas17 - 16 Aug 2020 14:25:52 (#18 of 107)

I'm in the draft as well, thanks, CB.

What tends to happen is that you triple-captain De Bruyne who has an absolute worldie and scores 57 points and you smugly look up the H2H league to find your opponent did exactly the same thing but he doesn't have the defender that De Bruyne spent the afternoon terrorising and you do because the phone rang as you were about to swap him out and you lost 91-87.

No one else in the league scores over 60.

dmlc133 - 16 Aug 2020 17:21:41 (#20 of 107)

H2H is very much the Carabao Cup of the FPL world, I think (although I am the reigning champion...)

I'm in the draft league too. We did a draft league a couple of seasons ago when it was first offered. I'm not sure it was a total success as a game - seemed like interest waned as the season progressed because the best performing players were all taken and there wasn't much chance to improve your team. Maybe with a smaller number of teams, and therefore more players not in a team, there will be more scope for transfers throughout the season. More than willing to give it another go and see.
