Trumpocalypse XIV: DO SOMETHING!

Thirteen days.

What could possibly go wrong?

Let the cunt swing from the nearest lamppost

13 Days. They'll need a different title for the movie, that one's already been taken.

He's still saying he disagrees with the outcome. Cunt.

FleurDuMal - 07 Jan 2021 09:22:35 (#4 of 3287)

I wonder if he'll have to be dragged out, kicking and bellowing?

thePiMan - 07 Jan 2021 09:22:44 (#5 of 3287)

I hope so

Yes, here's the full 'statement':

Statement by President Donald J. Trump on the Electoral Certification:

“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th. I have always said we would continue our...

...fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”

I love the bewildered replies I'm seeing: how can he give up? Where is The Storm? Wait, you will see that he has A Plan.

Man, this is 7D chess now

Here is the letter from an Italian lawyer, on a blank sheet of paper and helpfully in English, PROOFING that the Italians rigged the election for Biden:

Still, at least the orange face will match the jumpsuit.

In 12 years they've gone from McCain's gracious concession speech to this.

Of course, McCain was a 'loser' for getting captured...

"Venezuela expresses its concern over the acts of violence that are taking place in the city of Washington, USA; condemns political polarization and aspires that the American people can blaze a new path toward stability and social justice"

The contrast between the law enforcement reaction to the storming of the Capitol on Wednesday and the suppression of peaceful protests in the summer is not just stark – it is black and white.

cozzer - 07 Jan 2021 09:55:35 (#13 of 3287)

I've seen several tweets praising the aides who rescued the electoral college ballots or otherwise they would have been burnt by the mob, but surely that wouldn't have made any practical difference? It's just academic, everybody knows what the vote tallies were, and what the electors' intentions were, you don't actually need the physical ballots to confirm the election.

HelenDamnation - 07 Jan 2021 09:56:40 (#14 of 3287)

I think it would have been highly symbolic and would have added an extra layer to the feeling of out-of-handness.

Arjuna - 07 Jan 2021 09:58:03 (#15 of 3287)

and meant there were no further delays

They're legal documents with signatures on from each state's legislature. By the process, they couldn't have completed without them. It's all archaic, but those are the rules. The US prides itself on living as if it were the 1770s.

Moschops - 07 Jan 2021 09:59:30 (#17 of 3287)

Maybe you do need them? Don't forget the US instruction manual dates from 1788.

Would probably have slowed it up whilst they printed off new copies and got them signed.

Or what dreams said

ReverendBlueJeans - 07 Jan 2021 09:59:55 (#19 of 3287)

...and if the evidence had been destroyed the Trumpeters would have suddenly become all evidence-focused.

Companies all round the world have found problems in lockdown, where the law requires actual signatures on documents, or people to actually meet in person to effect a quorate meeting. These laws will change soon.
