Trumpocalypse XV: Old Man Yells At Cloud

You know the drill.

Pixiedust - 10 May 2021 23:52:00 (#321 of 1856)

In a letter to GOP members arguing for the removal of Liz Cheney, Kevin McCarthy writes: “We are a big tent party. We represent Americans of all backgrounds & continue to grow our movement by the day. And unlike the left, we embrace free thought & debate.”

I think the only logical response to that is to ask what kind of solvent he's huffing.

Just yesterday one of the MAGAts I know through Facebook informed me that Republicans have more diversity of thought than Democrats do.

This must be the talking point on Fox and Newsmax

We are a big tent party, which is why we're excluding anybody who doesn't believe the election was stolen.

I can see this Republican level of denial about Trump being, in future, studied as some kind of group psychosis. What the hell is wrong with them? He abused almost all of them on his journey to losing everything and they are still in thrall. It's very strange.

Isolde2 - 11 May 2021 09:43:03 (#326 of 1856)

What the hell is wrong with them?

Disordered ducklings with a lemming as leader?

Is it weird just because its the US though? I mean, plenty of other nations have had (and have) idiots just like him. Brazil, Turkmenistan, Turkey etc recently and, of course, Italy, Japan and that weird bloke with the Charlie Chaplin moustache a while back.

And the UK has this cheeky chappie with funny hair who’s killed 150,000 people,...

SinnerBoy - 11 May 2021 10:24:25 (#328 of 1856)

I see that Trump has brought a lawsuit, in a Michigan county, which he won. He's alleging massive fraud, again.

AlanII - 11 May 2021 10:26:53 (#329 of 1856)

Sounds like he may have a point in that one, just not the way he thinks he has.

misosoup100 - 11 May 2021 10:44:29 (#330 of 1856)

As many have said the reason he's so adamant there was fraud is that he knows there was fraud.

thePiMan - 11 May 2021 10:45:53 (#331 of 1856)

there was plenty of fraud, his loss would have been much bigger if there wasn't. he just didn't do enough fraud.

BasilSeal - 11 May 2021 13:50:09 (#332 of 1856)

His logic appears to be he cheated, so the only way the dems could have beaten him is if they'd cheated more bigly.

What the hell is wrong with them? He abused almost all of them on his journey to losing everything and they are still in thrall. It's very strange.

Yeah but he owns the libs, and that's the really important bit.

TRaney - 11 May 2021 13:55:40 (#333 of 1856)

It's not that complicated. Continuing to believe their guy is a hero and was cheated makes them feel better than admitting he lost fair and square and may have misled them.

TheSwearingBear - 11 May 2021 13:58:52 (#334 of 1856)

The only conclusion I can come to is that they are very very stupid. He was, and is such an obvious con man.

popstar7 - 11 May 2021 13:59:01 (#335 of 1856)

He increased their vote in the presidential election from Romney's 61 million to 63 million in 2016 and 74 million last year. He can turn out voters no other Republican can. There's solid political reasons they can't/won't turn their backs on him.

TRaney - 11 May 2021 14:00:29 (#336 of 1856)

He was, and is such an obvious con man.

But the heart of all cons is selling the feelgood. Usually on the basis you are getting one over on someone else. You can't con an honest man and all that.

TheSwearingBear - 11 May 2021 14:01:20 (#337 of 1856)

He obviously can turn out Democrat voters like no other Republican can.

misosoup100 - 11 May 2021 14:20:53 (#338 of 1856)

He increased their vote in the presidential election from Romney's 61 million to 63 million in 2016 and 74 million last year.

Both of those represent reductions in % of votes cast.

Moschops - 11 May 2021 14:23:58 (#339 of 1856)

the election of GWB in 2004 hurt more than 2000, as he didn't (obviously) cheat in that one

misosoup100 - 11 May 2021 14:27:30 (#340 of 1856)

His proxies slandered Kerry relentlessly- but I guess that isn't exactly cheating.
