RASCIST ban on Scottish monarchs, eh? Robert the Bruce woulda maced them all to pulp.

Tadagee - 16 Nov 2021 15:56:39 (#3 of 77)

Blimey, i'm not sure William I would be that popular, especially in the North where frankly his harrowing was a tad overzealous at times.

Henry II didn't get v far which is a shame as he is the father of the common law, introducing the insane idea that even peasants had some rights.

Tadagee - 16 Nov 2021 16:04:00 (#4 of 77)

Anyway worst Monarch would be good.

George IV, Edward II, Henry VI, John, Mary, Stephen, Richard II, Charles I and Henry VIII spring to mind for starters

Or most forgettable? Anne, William IV, Henry III, Edward V?

Or most forgettable? Anne, William IV, Henry III, Edward V?

Surely it will be one you haven’t remembered.

Henry VI set up schools for poor children, didn't he?

staticgirl - 16 Nov 2021 16:10:36 (#7 of 77)

Surprised at how well Athelstan is doing.

Tadagee - 16 Nov 2021 16:10:48 (#8 of 77)

Henry VI set up schools for poor children, didn't he?

Yes, but arguably his crapness at Kinging* resulted in the bloodiest domestic war in history.

so, swings and roundabouts...

*yes I am aware he almost certainly had a mental disorder.

He also set up the first ever hippie festival:

Henry VI. "His breakdown was a tragedy but his recovery was a disaster".

He also set up the first ever hippie festival:

Sadly, not an overwhelming success with this only three years later

Henry VI set up schools for poor children, didn't he?

Yes - Eton.

Tadagee - 16 Nov 2021 16:26:12 (#13 of 77)

How did Charles II end up in the seeded pot? His main selling point is that he wasn't a puritan.

Atticus - 16 Nov 2021 16:29:39 (#14 of 77)

Successfully walking the tight-rope his Father and Brother failed to?

staticgirl - 16 Nov 2021 16:29:39 (#14 of 77)

He pretty much oversaw the rebuilding of London, sort of. Other people did the work, he shagged actresses.

Wipe out of existence anyone with any trace of royal dna. Then, wipe out all records, books and statues, paintings etc and any reference to any and all past royal. Erase them from the now and history. Let them never be mentioned in the future.

It is a bit of a strange one that Henry II has such a bad reputation, despite doing a lot of good things for England, while his son Richard I is seen as a heroic figure despite being a being pretty bad as a king.

Mao Zedong, there !!

Macpaddy - 16 Nov 2021 16:43:58 (#18 of 77)

Mao was a great man, a true world leader.

Successfully walking the tight-rope his Father and Brother failed to?

I think with Charles the I it wasn't so much falling off a tightrope as having a nice wide bridge to walk along and then jumping head first off it in a fit of stubbornness.

OK, maybe a bit unfair because things were chaotic, but Charles rarely failed to take whatever hand he was dealt and then do the worst possible thing he could with it.

Tadagee - 16 Nov 2021 16:47:54 (#20 of 77)

Wipe out of existence anyone with any trace of royal dna

Given that's a hefty proportion of the population, you'd be going full Thanos there.
