The Gabriel Boric Dead Pool

How long will Gabriel Boric be allowed to lead Chile? How will his reign end?

Coup d'Etat? Hail of gunfire? Assassins' bullet? Perhaps they'll simply fit him up like that Lula bloke... Or will he simply mutate into something horrible under the pressure of endless economic sabotage, US fuckery and attempted coups? You decide!

One thing's for sure: Neoliberalism ain't going nowhere, chummy. They're just too damn used to all that power.

Great news for the people of Chile.

In other news (Brazil) -- Lula is planning to run against Bolsonaro in 2022.

Of course if things go tits up, it won't be down to his economic policies, it'll be sabotage.

I want it to work out though, I really do. Quite impressed with the South American leftists in general - they seem to know what they're doing and are generally much more competent and interested in winning (rather than whingeing) than our lot.

South America is very much the US equivelant of Eastern Europe - the US's "backyard" to Russia's "near abroad". Just as Eastern Europe has become more free and independent of their Russian overlords, South America has become a lot more free of their Yankee oppressors in recent years. Good for them!
