Women and girls’ sex-based rights

Sex is a protected characteristic under the Equality Act 2010. Are women’s sex-based rights being eroded? Are freedom of belief and freedom of speech being respected? What are the implications? Discuss it here.

The JTT Charter says "We support free speech, even for people we don't agree with or like. We don't support hatred or discrimination".

In order to facilitate this, we have identified new guidelines, in addition to the existing T&C and Policy, please take the time to read them here:

https://justthetalk.com/home/genderidentity

If you want to discuss them, please do this on the JtT Policy Discussion thread:

https://justthetalk.com/userspace/37097/jtt_policy
_discussion__2_

This is a trial thread, subject to being locked if the guidelines are continually breached.

It'll be interesting to work out which alleyways are safe to go down and which are covered by snipers.

I endorse this product or statement.

Respect other posters, their views, opinions and beliefs and consider your impact on others when making your contribution

" I respect you too much as a person to respect your ridiculous views, opinions and beliefs." (adapted from Johan Hari's bon mot).

FWIW, I think the gender identity statement (linkes) is a very good and laudable starting position.

The inclusion of the post snippets makes it 'real' and comprehensble in ways that dry blurb alone can't.

Let's see if we can keep it together, eh?

darkhorse - 09 Jun 2021 12:48:43 (#6 of 2109)

It's a tricky thing, so well done to the admin team for figuring out a reasonable approach.

NOTtheTalk - 09 Jun 2021 12:48:48 (#7 of 2109)

Please discuss the policy on the policy thread https://justthetalk.com/userspace/37097/jtt_policy

You're welcome.

NoobRomeo - 09 Jun 2021 12:49:35 (#11 of 2109)

Good luck with this necessary initiative.

CarlosFandango - 09 Jun 2021 12:51:05 (#12 of 2109)

OK, so where were we?

Anyone?

Dementor - 09 Jun 2021 12:54:49 (#13 of 2109)

Good job, thobut.

ReverendBlueJeans - 09 Jun 2021 13:18:38 (#16 of 2109)

Following the recent discussions here, the views of the sole owner of the site (johnnythesailor), messages to the admins, and concern about possible legal issues, we have decided to lock this thread while we discuss and clarify JtT's overall policy and moderation of this topic, while also preserving freedom of speech.

Eh?

NOTtheTalk - 09 Jun 2021 13:38:12 (#17 of 2109)

#14 Thank you. we have updated

NOTtheTalk - 09 Jun 2021 13:40:02 (#18 of 2109)

#16 Please discuss this on the Policy discussion thread, not here

We will be deleting mis-placed discussion of the policy if it gets too much on here

Kucinghitam - 09 Jun 2021 13:44:41 (#19 of 2109)

The irony! We've had days of posters discussing the Thing on the Policy thread, and now we have a Thing thread, we're going to have days of posters discussing Policy on here.

Sorry, mods.

ReverendBlueJeans - 09 Jun 2021 13:53:21 (#20 of 2109)

I didn't even know there was a Policy thread, or that there were policies to be threaded. But hey.
