Any other Virgin Media sufferers today?

First they came for Eurosport, but I didn't mind, cos I could watch the snooker on BBC. Then BBC died.

"This channel is not authorised".

A quick Google tells me there are outages all over the country.

Obviously I'm the only VM customer on JTT...

Tadagee - 02 Dec 2021 17:36:32 (#2 of 24)

Nope I got dun VMd

JennyRad - 02 Dec 2021 17:42:02 (#3 of 24)

We had a brief internet outage, but neither of us has tried TV today.

Electro2 - 02 Dec 2021 17:45:42 (#4 of 24)

Yes all afternoon…BBC iPlayer fortunately showed snooker live…back to normal 6:00pm.

moto748 - 02 Dec 2021 17:49:51 (#5 of 24)

Is that what they're saying? I just tried TV, Channels 1-5 (in old money) are present and correct, but nothing much else, it seems.

moto748 - 02 Dec 2021 17:56:53 (#7 of 24)

So still 1-5 only.

Policywatcher - 02 Dec 2021 19:26:27 (#8 of 24)

I've got broadband but no TV.

I'd love to know exactly why, but their service status page isn't working, and nobody at the call centre is answering the phone.

Some idea of the scale of it here:

Worth scrolling all the way down.

Electro2 - 02 Dec 2021 19:36:00 (#9 of 24)

And tv has returned.

HollyAndTheArriveAlIvy - 02 Dec 2021 20:23:06 (#10 of 24)

VM here too. TV and broadband OK (but have only just switched on the telly for the first time today). Email was playing unreachable silly buggers in the morning. By the afternoon you could get in, but had to go through an Ooops... page first. All back to normal now.

OctonThwing - 02 Dec 2021 20:47:51 (#11 of 24)

Mrs Thwing is on VM and had the telly on all day.

Electro2 - 02 Dec 2021 20:51:27 (#12 of 24)

If that’s her alibi….

moto748 - 02 Dec 2021 21:04:15 (#13 of 24)

Heh!

upgoerfive - 02 Dec 2021 23:43:20 (#14 of 24)

Ah - I thought it was just our Tivo playing silly buggers.

Virgin Media down: TV update given after channels didn't work for hours

The issue was being reported by Virgin Media all over the country

moto748 - 04 Dec 2021 12:23:27 (#16 of 24)

It's almost like posters don't believe what I say...

Policywatcher - 04 Dec 2021 13:29:33 (#17 of 24)

Oh I knew you were right - we lost all TV for several hours.

I was just interested in what amounted to the non-response, barely-apology superficial comment from Virgin.

moto748 - 04 Dec 2021 14:18:01 (#18 of 24)

Par for the course, PW.

Tenesmus - 04 Dec 2021 14:30:04 (#19 of 24)

That's something I don't miss about VM, the outages. And it turns out 80mbps is perfectly adequate, so don't miss the speed either.

moto748 - 08 Dec 2021 18:33:44 (#20 of 24)

Just had it again. Only fairly briefly, though.
