Bypassing paywall - Is it this easy?

I saw a Tik Tok video on the weekend that explained if you go to a news site and the story you want is behind a paywall, if you press F12 and go to that 'inspect' part and click on the settings wheel, you can disable Javascript on the page.

You then reload and the paywall disappears!

I just tried it on a few news sites and it worked.

Someone posted this site a few months ago to get around paywalls. It works on some sites.

Disabling Javascript works with some, but it won't work with all. It'll work with the Telegraph. And as I've posted several times, you don't have to faff with Inspect on individual pages. You can just set your browser settings to disable Javascript for the whole domain permanently.

Must get round to trying that for the Independent, which is getting ever more strident about subscribing.

It'll work with the Telegraph.

Also worked with the Indy and New York Times.
