Agents of SHEILD

In which characters you've never heard of perform procedural activities while THE INCREDIBLE HULK has just left the room.

Will YOU be watching this cop-show-crossed-with-saturday-morning-childrens-entertainment?

I'll be watching Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Or, you know, whatever.

BrouTwo - 27 Sep 2013 19:52:39 (#3 of 420)

I will be watching.

Rendered - 27 Sep 2013 19:53:50 (#4 of 420)

It reminded me of the first season of Heroes, minus the charm, invention and novelty.

helbel - 27 Sep 2013 19:59:44 (#5 of 420)

I'll be recording it whilst I watch Gardener's World and Strictly.

Strictly? Yup, I think it jumped the shark with Widdy.

crabbyoldbat - 27 Sep 2013 20:16:26 (#8 of 420)

Something I always wondered about The Avengers - are they Avenging something in particular? Or are they just general purpose Avengers, Avenging the small slights of everyday life when there's nothing else on?

RosyLovelady - 27 Sep 2013 20:58:09 (#14 of 420)

In the very first series of The Avengers, Ian Hendry played the lead character (name of Keel, as I recall it) who was seeking to avenge the death of his wife. After that, Ian Hendry was fired from the show and it all went haywire.

YogiMeerfield - 27 Sep 2013 20:58:19 (#15 of 420)

That was ok. More of a Saturday tea-time kids kind of show.

ashinlondon - 27 Sep 2013 21:01:42 (#16 of 420)

I developed an instant infatuation for the Corvette in the last scene. It's crummy, switch your brain off tv, which might also keep kids quiet.

Temeura - 27 Sep 2013 21:01:48 (#17 of 420)

That was fun. I will keep with it.

newtonbase - 27 Sep 2013 21:05:20 (#18 of 420)

It reminded me of the first season of Heroes, minus the charm, invention and novelty.

Like the third series of Heroes then?

ashinlondon - 27 Sep 2013 21:10:27 (#19 of 420)

Yes, it was fun. The thing is, I've enjoyed all the Marvel films. Their writing talent such as it is seems to rest mostly in witty one liners, and joke references to other Marvel characters, with references to Iron Man et al in their movies. So I'm not sure how much people are basing their 'it's shit' thing on it being properly shit, or being unaware.

Either way, it's meant to be a bit of escapist F-U-N, sorry if you can't get with that.

ashinlondon - 27 Sep 2013 21:11:34 (#20 of 420)

Hmm, perhaps I should've said 'trying to be witty'.
