Might as well start Saturday Scandi salon as get rat-arsed in splendid isolation.

Is nobody watching? I need someone to read the subtitles for me!

TRaney - 26 Nov 2016 21:27:17 (#2 of 60)

I'm in

Verdigris - 26 Nov 2016 21:34:41 (#3 of 60)

Vicaress's husband has recovered well from his kicking in The Fall.

Vassant - 26 Nov 2016 21:39:57 (#4 of 60)

I'm hooked already. The lovely interiors are a real bonus.

Vassant - 26 Nov 2016 21:43:18 (#5 of 60)

Whoa!

TRaney - 26 Nov 2016 21:44:27 (#6 of 60)

I think what we've got here is a gastro-religious conspiracy

Vassant - 26 Nov 2016 21:50:04 (#7 of 60)

I think that continuity announcer was talking to me. As if I wasn't freaked enough.

TRaney - 26 Nov 2016 22:01:31 (#8 of 60)

Ill-advised moustache

TRaney - 26 Nov 2016 22:31:38 (#9 of 60)

What did they say in English at the end?

Verdigris - 26 Nov 2016 22:34:16 (#10 of 60)

No idea. Should have had subtitles.

JohnIlly - 27 Nov 2016 00:07:48 (#11 of 60)

We had the sound a bit low and didn't hear the English properly either.

Good stuff, though.

The kids were very good. I noticed in the credits there was somebody who did CASTING and someone else who did BARNCASTING. I assume the latter is child casting.

moto748 - 27 Nov 2016 02:32:09 (#12 of 60)

It's a bit woo, a bit hey, though, isn't it?

yumyum - 27 Nov 2016 05:55:52 (#13 of 60)

I didn't see it in the end. Is it as good as The Bridge/The Killing?

TRaney - 27 Nov 2016 08:00:20 (#14 of 60)

I wasn't that impressed. If you were hearing the script rather than trying to rush read it I think it would sound pretty clunky.

Is it as good as The Bridge/The Killing

A bit early to tell, I think. I remember being, initially, a bit underwhelmed by Forbrydelsen when I first cottoned on to it. Hoping I'll warm to the Scandi coolness as the series unfolds.

Anyone know how many episodes there are, in total? Usually they seem to end the Scandi seasons the weekend before Yule, which would suggest another 8 parts to come.

TRaney - 27 Nov 2016 10:16:48 (#16 of 60)

8 in total in four 'double helpings' as continuity announcers like to say

Verdigris - 27 Nov 2016 10:22:00 (#17 of 60)

So, finishes on Christmas Eve. It'll be better viewing than the usual festive tosh, hopefully.

#9 Killer: Hands over phone...'Just seen on tv show's phone. Get rid of it. No trace.'

Dodgy Swede: 'Yeah. Of course.'

Killer: 'I have a new assignment for you. It's about a little girl...Stina!"

moto748 - 27 Nov 2016 11:53:02 (#19 of 60)

Yeah, I never understood why chucking a mobe i nthe river is such a specialised job you need an expert to do it.

Killer really rocking the 'young Ray Liotta' look.

TRaney - 27 Nov 2016 12:03:04 (#20 of 60)

The only one of these I've watched was Trapped which I enjoyed, mostly for the John Goodman-esque long-suffering fat bloke schtick which is always a winner. I don't find any of the characters in this particularly sympathetic. Gave up on Follow The Money too after the first 'double helping'.
