The Mash Report - BBC2's new topical comedy show.

Starting tonight. It has writers from the UK's Onion-like website, The Daily Mash. Please let it be funny.

Good to know, cheers.

If they didn't drink Um Bongo in the Congo, could they have been done under advertising standards?

Brunothecat - 15 Feb 2018 22:32:01 (#183 of 327)

They probably sent a few cases over first to cover themselves.

Ebadlun - 15 Feb 2018 22:32:18 (#184 of 327)

The DRC was Zaire then, so presumably they were referring to what is now Congo-Brazzaville.

TRaney - 15 Feb 2018 22:32:56 (#185 of 327)

It’s hard to prove due to the decades long civil war that’s killed more people than any other since WWII but nobody gives a fuck about, especially Jeremy ‘bleeding heart’ Corbyn.

I rest my case

Ebadlun - 16 Feb 2018 01:22:29 (#188 of 327)

Watching it on iPlayer now, still jumping. (The program, not the DRC or Corbyn).

Ebadlun - 16 Feb 2018 01:27:39 (#189 of 327)

It is rather tiresome they don't appear to know that Finnish is unrelated to Swedish or Norwegian when making up their comedy names.

TRaney - 22 Feb 2018 22:28:42 (#190 of 327)

What does this Labour pol think he’s doing?

Arjuna - 22 Feb 2018 22:30:23 (#191 of 327)

not sure, its all a bit crap though

only funny thing has been the mangina guy

TRaney - 22 Feb 2018 22:32:32 (#192 of 327)

It’s not growing into itself or whatever

xbod72 - 22 Feb 2018 22:35:11 (#193 of 327)

The mangina?

Arjuna - 22 Feb 2018 22:36:38 (#194 of 327)

The mangina bloke was utterly absurd, amusing enough to watch him destroy himself with some great prompting from Desiree but why the need to hammer it home with all those stats?

GyratingTrampoline - 22 Feb 2018 23:56:46 (#195 of 327)

I like it, purely because its so rare to see any overt leftwing content on the telly.

TRaney - 22 Feb 2018 23:58:39 (#196 of 327)

It’s a humour show not a political show. And it’s not funny.

GyratingTrampoline - 23 Feb 2018 07:07:34 (#197 of 327)

If the beeb recategorised it as "political show with elements of humour" would you like it then?

Half of the time its not even trying to be funny, like the last episode when Nish talked about how shit brexit is, or the thing about snowflakes.

SunkenTreasures - 23 Feb 2018 07:53:22 (#198 of 327)

The Last Leg does it all much better.

xbod72 - 23 Feb 2018 08:41:27 (#199 of 327)

I don't like that show, Widdecombe gets on my nerves. And the other guy on the sofa with him likens every situation to some game on the Playstation. The host is very good, though.

barafundle - 24 Feb 2018 11:38:35 (#200 of 327)

Try Unspun XL with Matt Ford on Dave. It is a similar sort of show but does it so much better.

Very amusing interview this week with Alastair Campbell.

There are two versions of the show, the short one and the long one (XL).
