barafundle - 09 Jun 2018 18:04:47 (#2 of 21)

This series is excellent.

Verdigris - 09 Jun 2018 21:06:39 (#3 of 21)

Dyma ni'n mynd.

moto748 - 09 Jun 2018 21:26:08 (#4 of 21)

Is it going to be on BBC4 from now on? I've already watched Ep1 on the i-player.

barafundle - 09 Jun 2018 21:35:18 (#5 of 21)

Seems to be their new Saturday night drama so I guess that they will show the whole series.

Verdigris - 09 Jun 2018 21:36:46 (#6 of 21)

Yes, eight weeks.

Verdigris - 09 Jun 2018 21:41:36 (#7 of 21)

Well up to Hinterland standards, thus far.

mingmong - 09 Jun 2018 21:58:11 (#8 of 21)

Da iawn!

Verdigris - 09 Jun 2018 22:10:08 (#9 of 21)

My Welsh is nearly as good as my Scandi, these days.

Looking like a whydunnit, at this stage.

TheVoiceOfReason - 10 Jun 2018 20:48:50 (#10 of 21)

Interesting so far. The police achieved a lot on day 1, didn’t they? Found body, identified body, got pathology report, notified family, interviewed social worker, etc. And the police station seems very large for a rural area (although that said, where in Wales is it meant to be?).

Verdigris - 10 Jun 2018 20:52:26 (#11 of 21)

Snowdonia, generally, so I'd guess Bangor for the urban bit.

moto748 - 10 Jun 2018 20:56:24 (#12 of 21)

They don't speak Welsh much in Snowdonia, surely?

Electro2 - 10 Jun 2018 20:57:37 (#13 of 21)

Detective inspector Cadi John lives in a small island called Ynys Castell, located in the strait which separates Anglesey from the rest of Wales.

Electro2 - 10 Jun 2018 20:58:37 (#14 of 21)

... and yes The city of Bangor is heavily featured in the series.

Goneril - 10 Jun 2018 21:00:20 (#15 of 21)

They don't speak Welsh much in Snowdonia, surely?

Over 50% do, I think, though I have no idea where that figure came from. Perhaps my fevered imagination?

Tadagee - 10 Jun 2018 21:02:35 (#16 of 21)

My mum is from Snowdonia and when she lived there everyone spoke Welsh in preference to English.

Doctor5 - 11 Jun 2018 19:19:38 (#17 of 21)

Particularly if an English official turns up...

Yammoto - 13 Jun 2018 12:03:34 (#18 of 21)

Yep, North Wales is a hotbed of welshspeakingness.

Meibion Glyndwr!

Doctor5 - 13 Jun 2018 14:23:59 (#19 of 21)

My home is on BBC Wales news tonight at 1830. I live in a tower block...

phantlers - 13 Jun 2018 23:07:47 (#20 of 21)

Scenes in Caernarfon too, the castle prominent.
