RadMac demoted to weekends!

Lauren Laverne and her ghastly Every Night Is Clubnight! rave show promoted to breakfast time (now you can hear a load of horrible club shite at 7.30 on a rainy Wednesday morning instead of 10.30 on a Wednesday morning - brilliant.)

MorrisMitchener - 09 Aug 2018 13:08:54 (#1 of 106)

Mary Ann Hobbs gets the weekday 10AM show which will be an improvement.

Semi-ironic Lad Shaun Keaveney gets the Radmac slot. Meh.

MorrisMitchener - 09 Aug 2018 13:09:58 (#2 of 106)

Marc Riley to stay as he is and hopefully the same with Gideon Coe?

SheikYerbouti - 09 Aug 2018 13:13:49 (#3 of 106)

I like your earnestly special interest threads.

Vendor - 09 Aug 2018 13:14:10 (#4 of 106)

Mary Ann Hobgoblin is TERRIBLE in a daytime slot.

Vendor - 09 Aug 2018 13:15:28 (#5 of 106)

And I'd have put Keaveney into Lamacq's place and left RadMac alone.

jambeslourdes - 09 Aug 2018 13:15:30 (#6 of 106)

Mary Ann Hobbs five days a week is nothing to celebrate. She’s a simpering twat.

OTOH, weekend mornings will be far more enjoyable.

SheikYerbouti - 09 Aug 2018 13:15:49 (#7 of 106)

I am fond of Radmac in the afternoons but Keaveney will fit that slot pretty well too. Lets hope for no more of the appalling Liz Kershaw.

jambeslourdes speaks TROOT!

How's you and yours, all well?

6Music: that's where the Scandis get the theme music for all their TV series, isn't it?

MorrisMitchener - 09 Aug 2018 13:17:41 (#10 of 106)

I prefer her to Laverne who is dreadful. Good interviewer but I think her mid-life crisis has kicked in and she's been younging down the show for ages.

Not enough frowning men playing guitars!!!Give me frowning men playing guitars, goddamnyou!!

So, yeah. She's the one having the mid-life crisis. Definitely her...

MorrisMitchener - 09 Aug 2018 13:28:39 (#11 of 106)

My idols Mark and Stuart taking it on the chin, with good grace!!

Of course, part of the problem was/is that the pair are so busy they do the show together less than half the time. That may have ruffled feathers...

When the flip is the wonderful Katie Puckrik gonna get her own show?!

Zugunruhe1 - 09 Aug 2018 14:00:43 (#12 of 106)

And the woeful Huey Morgan keeps his gig.

JessicaEccles6 - 09 Aug 2018 14:03:34 (#13 of 106)

NOOOOO!!! I love Keaveney in the mornings - he's the only person who has made me laugh since the much lamented Mark and Lard R1 breakfast show.

Lauren Lavern is too serious for the mornings.

MorrisMitchener - 09 Aug 2018 14:10:58 (#14 of 106)

Huey Morgan is mysteriously popular, it seems. He just sounds like some tired old burnout playing Sly Stone and Led Zep album tracks to me.

Gigi76 - 09 Aug 2018 14:35:05 (#15 of 106)

I'm OK with most of that. I like LL, and I don't always get the time to hear her, or Radmac. This way I will hear them more, but SK less which is a shame. I'd have been happy to see Steve Lamacq moved, he bores me. I don't like MAH so hopefully I will hear her less now.

MorrisMitchener - 09 Aug 2018 14:38:52 (#16 of 106)

Hobbs is okay but surely she has a voice for late night radio? That flat monotone - makes me sooo sleeeepy...

SheikYerbouti - 09 Aug 2018 14:40:57 (#17 of 106)

Breathy reverence is what you get with hobbsy.

MorrisMitchener - 09 Aug 2018 14:42:12 (#18 of 106)

Voices are important in radio (obviously!).

I'd be better able to deal with Lamacq and his obsession with the duller end of early 90's NME indie (Shed 7, Carter, Teenage poxy Fanclub) if his horrible nasal voice didn't make me want to strangle him...

CaptainBlack - 09 Aug 2018 14:44:39 (#19 of 106)

Less Radmac, but I suppose Mark has just turned 60. Now shuffling towards the exit.

jambeslourdes - 09 Aug 2018 14:45:39 (#20 of 106)

Breathy reverence is exactly it.

Very well thanks Vendor! Hope you are well.
