Never Gonna Give TOTP 1987 Up

Rick, Terence and Her out of T'Pau entertain people with red braces and Filofaxes (this is what we did before mobile phones, kids).

"Never gonna give EU up" is a good title for the next brexit thread

FleurDuMal - 04 Jan 2019 17:32:48 (#2 of 348)

I agree - let’s use it!

If music be the food of love, let’s eat it.

Trying to think of big bang related puns

I used to work with a Rick Astley lookalike in 1987. That is my Rick Astley story.

Oh this is the year of sophisti-pop.

Johnny Hates Jazz

Curiosity Killed the Cat with Ben Vol-au-vent (c. Smash Hits)

Black with poor Colin Vearncombe

Fricking Deacon Blue with their meaningful dirges about austere lives and boats.

And fricking Hue and Cry.

Pat "pat kane" Kane is a dead ringer for a young George Osborne at this point.

‘Blue-eyed soul.’

StakludKar - 04 Jan 2019 18:42:36 (#8 of 348)

Arrrgh that's it. Someone do a Venn diagram with Rick Astley in the middle between that and stock aitken and waterman

CaptainBlack - 04 Jan 2019 19:35:20 (#9 of 348)

Stiff crinkly pyjamas?

I'm losing the bid for Never Gonna Give EU Up on the brexit thread

CaptainBlack - 04 Jan 2019 21:08:54 (#17 of 348)

'Respectable' is the other SAW track I like.

I remember A Ship Called Dignity by Deacon Blue getting Single Of The Week in either Melody Maker or NME. A more rave review you could not imagine. I just though "Wow, what a review, got to hear that".

Happened to be in my local record shop, there it is on offer, only 50p. I snapped it up. Took it home. Played it.

To this day it is, with just one exception, the worst fucking piece of shit song I have ever heard in my life.

Oh.

Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton.

xDiggy - 04 Jan 2019 21:17:48 (#19 of 348)

I see that berk from Curiosity Killed The Cat still looks like a berk.

CaptainBlack - 04 Jan 2019 21:21:13 (#20 of 348)

I admire his commitment to looking like a tit 32 years later.
