Someone should reply to all saying "PLEASE don't reply to all!"

Rewatched Scissored Isle last night and laughed again at Alan's rapid transformation into a checkout person.

"Some said I was scanning even quicker than Tesco lifer, Pat Bevan, she could barely conceal her rage".

Pretty decent first ep - particularly enjoyed the bit with Sidekick Simon.

The actress playing Jenny is brilliant at trying to maintain a professional veneer. It's not going to last.

“Bedroom-based do-badders.”

TheVoiceOfReason - 25 Feb 2019 22:25:45 (#6 of 335)

“Look who’s big in the back time!”

Lucy (Mrs) Mangle was raving similarly. It didn't really do it for me although there were some good gags but I suppose in the age of the Twitters it's not possible to not have a STRONG OPINION immediately.

TheVoiceOfReason - 26 Feb 2019 09:11:28 (#9 of 335)

I have to say I was a little underwhelmed. I don’t think the character will ever reach the heights of the Linton Travel Tavern days again, but there are worse ways to spend half an hour.

popstar7 - 26 Feb 2019 09:13:15 (#10 of 335)

”Like the student who stood in front of the tank in Chinaman square”

Moschops - 26 Feb 2019 09:13:15 (#11 of 335)

I think they've evolved the character really well. Not sure if this construct can sustain a series though

The word play is still as delicious but I don't believe the premise of the new setting but it's the detail which will prompt repeated viewings.

CaptainBlack - 26 Feb 2019 09:17:54 (#13 of 335)

There's fun to be had with Lyn's passive aggression against 'that slag from the bible'.

Rendered - 26 Feb 2019 09:19:08 (#14 of 335)

The mere sight of Lynn made me smile.

popstar7 - 26 Feb 2019 09:19:18 (#15 of 335)

Can I have your email?

No.

tasselhoff - 26 Feb 2019 09:21:38 (#16 of 335)

#10 Haha. Cringe. Haha.

HouseOfLametta - 26 Feb 2019 09:55:37 (#17 of 335)

I’m disappointed they did the 50 year old Fluck/Clunt gag.

CaptainBlack - 26 Feb 2019 09:57:04 (#18 of 335)

And the rest - it was Diana Dors' real surname.

HouseOfLametta - 26 Feb 2019 09:58:50 (#19 of 335)

Usu attrib “The Mayor Of Swindon”

Shadrack22 - 26 Feb 2019 12:32:42 (#20 of 335)

Slightly underwhelming. Partridge peaked with KMKYWAP, the series in the Travel Tavern and that Christmas special. So at least twenty years ago.
