First batch of contestants announced as

David James - 'Calamity' goalkeeper

Chris Ramsey - North East comedian

Someone off Eastenders (Emma Barton)

Looks like we'll have to wait longer for the official confirmation of Sam Allardyce and Anneka Rice.

It would be great to have Bros on, they are making a comeback

TommyDGNR8 - 01 Aug 2019 08:22:37 (#4 of 38)

Is OldApplejack Danny Baker?

bossab2 - 01 Aug 2019 08:29:06 (#5 of 38)

The first sign the nights are drawing in...

Arjuna - 01 Aug 2019 12:21:55 (#6 of 38)

RosyLovelady - 01 Aug 2019 12:23:26 (#7 of 38)

Who was Danny Baker? I think I've been told before but I can never remember.

Arjuna - 01 Aug 2019 12:25:49 (#8 of 38)

worse than Hitler, don't worry, he's been cancelled

solomongursky - 01 Aug 2019 12:31:32 (#9 of 38)

Bonusy - 01 Aug 2019 12:35:45 (#10 of 38)

Surely Big Sam doing the rumba is something no-one should have to see

Tenesmus - 01 Aug 2019 14:05:02 (#11 of 38)

All a bit dull so far.

Arjuna - 01 Aug 2019 23:20:19 (#12 of 38)

I had heard of the first four but now we have a YouTuber.

RosyLovelady - 02 Aug 2019 07:45:04 (#13 of 38)

I've only watched a bit of one SCD programme, and that was because we were staying with a family which follows it avidly.

Should I try again?

SaffronSunrise - 02 Aug 2019 09:14:28 (#14 of 38)

''as the star-studded lineup for the new series begins to take shape...''

Arjuna - 02 Aug 2019 09:17:57 (#15 of 38)

didn't know the name but recognised the face.

carterbrandon - 02 Aug 2019 09:41:05 (#16 of 38)

No idea. But I have got a mental image of a proctologist with a little torch.

Tenesmus - 02 Aug 2019 11:17:14 (#17 of 38)

They had to have a BBC presenter of some sort. He has a go at sports, mostly non-mainstream, for a regular BBC Breakfast piece. Netball was a good one, he's about 5' 5".

Arjuna - 03 Aug 2019 12:02:38 (#18 of 38)

Karim Zeroual is in

Verdigris - 03 Aug 2019 12:27:16 (#19 of 38)

Should I try again?

As a veteran watcher of two seasons I'd say it is worth a go. I have no idea who most of the contestants are but that doesn't seem to matter after a couple of weeks. The main benefit, to me, is the comment as you watch aspect of the JtT thread. It is what passes as a social life for me. I daresay you get out more.

Arjuna - 03 Aug 2019 12:55:47 (#20 of 38)

at it's core, it is an excellent show, watching a bunch of people with varying abilities master a new skill with the aid of some remarkably talented dancers, plus the analysis of some expert judges. However it is padded out with the staples of popular TV shows - back stories, comedy videos, Bruno acting the dick etc

and don't get me started on Halloween week
