Theme tunes that grate on you.

Mine are:

Bargain Hunt

Hollyoaks.

Both are these I regularly hear but only because I want to watch the thing on afterwards. I'm tempted to add The Archers but I don't think it is the theme tune that grates on me it's just that, well, I associate it with The Archers which I dislike.

Thought immediately of Hollyoaks. Also Click and The Travel Show on BBC News 24.

The Archers tune is widely recognised, even if they've never heard the programme.

Antiques Roadshow theme just makes me think of Tories.

carterbrandon - 01 Oct 2019 13:46:49 (#4 of 101)

The whole credit sequence does. I would drop that cunt with a grandfather clock in his Morris Minor onto an 18th century man-trap head first.

Coronation Street is the most dreary depressing bit of music I think I've ever heard.

FrankieTeardrop - 01 Oct 2019 13:52:07 (#6 of 101)

gosh yes

widenation - 01 Oct 2019 13:53:44 (#7 of 101)

QI is fucking annoying if it hasn't changed from years ago.

NotACloggie - 01 Oct 2019 13:55:35 (#8 of 101)

The One Show.

Probably due to the fact that when it comes on whilst I'm visiting mum, she screams Oooonnnnnnneeeee about 10 times.

FrankieTeardrop - 01 Oct 2019 14:16:04 (#9 of 101)

Alphablocks

hailesaladdie - 01 Oct 2019 14:21:59 (#10 of 101)

Yes, Numberblocks is much better.

Raa-raa the Noisy Lion, simply because the gap between the lines isn't right for the beat to continue.

FrankieTeardrop - 01 Oct 2019 14:22:56 (#11 of 101)

"You can darnce, you can sing, you can make any fackin' fing, wiv ver Alan Ford Blocks"

TRaney - 01 Oct 2019 14:23:44 (#12 of 101)

University Challenge. Achieves the seeming impossible for a tune by sounding smug.

FrankieTeardrop - 01 Oct 2019 14:24:49 (#13 of 101)

I liked their Kraftwerk covers better.

widenation - 01 Oct 2019 14:44:04 (#14 of 101)

Cuntryfile.

Peacock - 01 Oct 2019 14:45:03 (#15 of 101)

The One Show

You can laugh

ha ha!

You can sing

La la la la

You mean.

NoSleep - 01 Oct 2019 15:24:43 (#17 of 101)

Red Dwarf and QI - base products of Howard Goodall (and god knows why they entrusted the history of music to him either - making it up as he went along).

thisonehasalittlehat - 01 Oct 2019 15:33:35 (#18 of 101)

The original red dwarf theme was better than the second version.

thisonehasalittlehat - 01 Oct 2019 15:33:50 (#19 of 101)

Based on a bit of Chopin.

FrankieTeardrop - 01 Oct 2019 15:34:29 (#20 of 101)

"You mean."

Indeed - hopefully you'll now hear the Alan Ford version every time it is on.
