Cheery viewing for difficult times

I rather like the documentaries on the Smithsonian Channel, Freeview 57. Who knew Kansas was so interesting and scenic?

Who knew Kansas was so interesting and scenic?

Donald Trump there

FGBFGB - 20 Mar 2020 20:36:50 (#4 of 19)

Tsk! It was more scenic than I had ever imagined!

Supermarket Sweep.

The Dale Winton version or modern travesties?

Moschops - 20 Mar 2020 20:40:56 (#7 of 19)

Read that as transvestite

FGBFGB - 20 Mar 2020 20:43:09 (#8 of 19)

That's what it originally typed out as, before I auto uncorrected

Tinymcsmithy - 20 Mar 2020 20:43:45 (#9 of 19)

Me too.

On the evening following the funeral of princess Diana bbc1 showed the Victoria Wood play Pat and Margaret

Tinymcsmithy - 20 Mar 2020 20:44:26 (#11 of 19)

Misread it, that is. I’m not a transvestite.

Moschops - 20 Mar 2020 20:45:23 (#12 of 19)

Gardener's World is back on, which is always quite reassuring

I have a likeness for Antiques Roadshow.

I was just thinking of digging out Carl Sagan's Cosmos.

NOW 70s (freeview 84) is a welcome bit of escapism.

Thoroughly recommend Psychobitches, originally shown around 8 years ago, with a fine roster of funny women visiting therapisty Rebecca Front for 3-minute or so sessions. They include Katy Brand, Frances Barber, Samantha Spiro, Julia Davis and Michelle Gomes.

Hilarious. Ideal.

Antiques Road Trip runs pretty much back-to-back on REALLY (Freeview 17).

Fluffy, undemanding, upbeat and fun.

Switch off at 9, though, as it usually runs into one of those overhyped, over-egged, fake SCARED AMERICAN, LIKE, GHOSTHUNTERS, YEAH? programmes.

FGBFGB - 23 Mar 2020 16:15:04 (#19 of 19)

Yes, ART is a favourite. But switch over at 9 for Masterchef!
