Considering it, although we're not watching much tv. Currently paying for sky, too much, Netflix, and Amazon, which is a rip off (you have to pay extra for almost anything worthwhile, and the platform interface is terrible)

Temptation for Disney is Hamilton, plus lots of Disney and pixar stuff that dsughter will like.

Funnily enough, having been discussing this elsewhere, I've just signed up. We also have Amazon, Netflix and Now TV so this is entirely unnecessary, but I'm curious about Hamilton and Muppet movies are always a good thing. £5.99 is a fair price to pay to have a look.

Yeah, we got a cheap six month deal and shared it with friends. Unless they drop some top drawer content soon there's little chance we'll be renewing.

Actually think I posted about this other day when talking to Bonus, I'll have a look.

Trouble is they're currently not offering enough content. We got the trial, and I've not watched anything since I finished the Mandolorian. The boy has watched a few of the Star Wars Lego cartoons, and a couple of the movies but he's not really bothered.

I can pick up three kids' dvds for a quid at the tip shop, they need to offer something more if they want me to renew.

Yeah we got it at the start of lock down.

It works for us, with kids aged 7, 5 and 2 it’s pretty on target.

And it’s not bad cost wise, I think it’s £6 a month.

Wasn't Disney a massive anti-semite? Does he get a pass now?

dreams99 - 03 Jul 2020 21:28:10 (#7 of 60)

I dont believe he's making films any more.

Is this the new comedy?

dmlc133 - 05 Jul 2020 01:38:08 (#10 of 60)

We've just signed up for the free month. My kids want to do a Star Wars marathon, and who am I deny them? At least I can make sure they watch them in the best order. We should get through them all in 2 months so £6 seems reasonable.

DishyFishy - 05 Jul 2020 01:47:05 (#11 of 60)

I got a cheap deal from o2. Basically my son uses it for infinite Simpsons.

my daughter invited my wife and me to a 3-person Hamilton party today. (it was, as most everybody seems to agree, spectacular.)

she figures that, for a cost to her of maybe $7, we saved about $2993 over Broadway ticket prices. plus my wife and I paid for dinner.

Just signed up. Mainly to watch The Mandalorian and The Walking Dead.

Watched Pixar's recent film, Soul, which is pretty good.

Anyone got any recommendations for a new subscriber?

#10 Plus if any of them decide that they love Jar Jar you can disown them for life and that will save on those pesky university fees.

The Exlet passed the test: she was not impressed with his antics and spent some time stomping around the house singing The Imperial March at the top of her voice.

Good... good...

YogiMeerfield - 28 Aug 2021 13:32:43 (#15 of 60)

Watched Cruella and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Very enjoyable.

Pixar's latest, called Luca, is worth watching. Quite a sweet story. That's the latest thing I've watched on Disney+.

Also been working my way through The Mandalorian, which is slowly starting to grow on me. Would prefer it if the episodes were longer though.

dmlc133 - 30 Aug 2021 22:09:34 (#17 of 60)

I also endorse Luca, having just watched it. Beautifully animation riff on the Little Mermaid story but with more than enough charm and originality to stand on it's own.

Sabacious - 30 Aug 2021 22:55:26 (#18 of 60)

There are loads and loads of short films hidden away, mostly really good. We’ve had a lot of fun hunting them down.

YogiMeerfield - 31 Aug 2021 16:23:31 (#19 of 60)

I'll have to have a look for those.

Anyway, watched The Call of the Wild, which was quite heartwarming in parts. It took a while to forget it featured a CGI dog though.

Don't think there is an Apple TV thread so I'll put this here - am I going to end up being disappointed if I start getting excited for the adaptation of Asimov's Foundation coming at the end of September?
