I'm just getting flashbacks of working in an office

TRaney - 10 Nov 2020 22:49:53 (#2 of 44)

I thought the atmospherics were excellent. I had flashbacks too.

StakludKar - 10 Nov 2020 22:56:34 (#3 of 44)

BANKS OF DESKS!

carterbrandon - 10 Nov 2020 23:20:09 (#4 of 44)

"This Life, but for Bankers"

Or "Capital City, but for Shithouses."

AdonisBlue - 10 Nov 2020 23:24:19 (#5 of 44)

I could never get past them mostly being twats in The Life so I've no hope with this.

It was greatly improved by the full frontal nudity.

I can’t remember any of the characters’ names which is either my age or poor writing. Will give it another shot next week but not blown away by it.

Bribaba - 12 Nov 2020 12:08:13 (#8 of 44)

It was greatly improved by the full frontal nudity.

Yes, and the music, too.

StakludKar - 18 Nov 2020 09:58:01 (#9 of 44)

I missed it. Was there any more office paraphernalia

Or full frontal

TheVoiceOfReason - 18 Nov 2020 10:12:09 (#10 of 44)

It took far too long to get to the full frontal last night (in the last 2 or 3 mins) but it was an impressive full frontal.

There was some interracial gay action but almost fully clothed.

The rest of the storyline - meh.

StakludKar - 18 Nov 2020 10:20:08 (#11 of 44)

It's almost as if people don't instantly warm to investment bankers

1MELSM - 18 Nov 2020 10:36:33 (#12 of 44)

I watched the first episode last night with no great expectation but was pleasantly surprised. There was rather a lot happening and I remember nobody but Harper's name and that of the building they were living in, it was all enough though to intend watching the second episode. Even though formulaic diversity drama is usually something I avoid.

TheVoiceOfReason - 18 Nov 2020 10:49:11 (#13 of 44)

What did you think of the full frontals, 1MELSM?

StakludKar - 18 Nov 2020 12:17:30 (#14 of 44)

Do we have mo full frontal nowadays?

There's this plus Normal People plus Naked Attraction

1MELSM - 18 Nov 2020 12:22:15 (#15 of 44)

I assumed he was thinking of offering his underlying fundamental 2xxs in a trade for some serious cross-ethnic currently-besuited two-for-ones with the side-option of a triple spreadsheet cross-sort laid out in tabular form, in time for tomorrow morning's 6.45 meeting with Marketing, Selling & Nattering. Either that or put his residuals on the table and see how many flagpoles arise mid-meeting, TVoR.

TheVoiceOfReason - 24 Nov 2020 21:17:31 (#16 of 44)

Oh my, masturbation in the first ten seconds!

TheVoiceOfReason - 24 Nov 2020 22:03:14 (#17 of 44)

No full-frontal nudity tonight! FUMMIN.

bossab2 - 24 Nov 2020 22:13:00 (#18 of 44)

Banking isn't industry.

crackfox - 24 Nov 2020 22:24:55 (#19 of 44)

Prince Edward from The Crown wandered into this episode as a random stoner

xDiggy - 27 Nov 2020 11:42:01 (#20 of 44)

https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2020/nov/27/industry-is-the-bbcs-banking-drama-this-life-for-a-new-generation

It has everything the classic show had 20 years ago: sex, drugs and a bunch of photogenic newcomers. But, most of all, every single character is obnoxious. So is it destined for greatness

Bit harsh on Warren, maybe.
