Tik-Tok: I can't be arsed to pretend to understand what the fuck it is

Endless teenagers dancing to the same 20-second snippets of the same three songs, plus some random gammon banging on about Brexit.

Also it's discriminatory - when I, as a 47-year-old male, make a video displaying my tits, people swipe right past, but when it's a 20-year-old female in a bikini, it's a different story.

My niece posts those on Facebook. I find them amusing, but not for me.

I wouldn't mind if any of the teenagers had some dancing talent, or evidence of having taken lessons, but they're all like the shit ones at the back of the school show who didn't really learn the moves and are just vaguely copying the person in front.

It's a bit more-ish once you start getting in to it. My teenage colleagues persuaded me to download it. It's all a bit random at first but when the algorithms kick in... woah! Then you realise you've wasted an hour watching lesbians dance to ELO.

Is it called TikTok because that's the sound of your life passing you by?

I read this years ago - excellent black humour.

Somebody mentioned a thing called 'Twitch' in a meeting the other day.

I had only previously heard of it from 'trending stories' (which I ignore) about rappers with silly names being banned from it.

Peacock - 18 Dec 2020 11:27:17 (#9 of 16)

its for posting self soft porn for youngsters

ReverendBlueJeans - 18 Dec 2020 11:28:27 (#10 of 16)

How do you get banned from that ?

TheVoiceOfReason - 18 Dec 2020 11:29:36 (#11 of 16)

Why would youngsters want soft porn when they can download DVDA 24/7 onto their mobile phones?

champagnerocker - 18 Dec 2020 13:11:16 (#12 of 16)

Ah yes, what was the Viz definition of DVDA: One rather uncomfortable lady and four indian rubber men?

AdonisBlue - 18 Dec 2020 13:16:25 (#13 of 16)

I have no idea what DVDA is either. If could Google but cha and don't want to know.
