Looking forward to erstwhile crush Greg Wise, and Robert Webb throwing some shapes.

helbel - 11 Sep 2021 11:13:42 (#2 of 109)

Excellent work. I did see the announcements of who was in it, but have pretty much forgotten. So it’s all going to be a surprise.

Catspyjamas17 - 11 Sep 2021 11:15:38 (#3 of 109)

Class of '21, if you would like to refresh your memory.

Catspyjamas17 - 11 Sep 2021 11:18:56 (#4 of 109)

I hope Nancy Wu gets a celeb partner this year.

helbel - 11 Sep 2021 11:21:44 (#5 of 109)

Still only know five of them. And one of those because I was pleased when he won BakeOff.

helenskywalker - 11 Sep 2021 11:26:34 (#6 of 109)

8 for me.

Arjuna - 11 Sep 2021 11:33:53 (#7 of 109)

I only recognised four names. I do know FrankiefromEastenders but did not know the actress's name or even recognise her out of her cockney garb. One or two others look familiar.

Catspyjamas17 - 11 Sep 2021 13:25:05 (#8 of 109)

9/15 for me.

Verdigris - 11 Sep 2021 12:49:42 (#9 of 109)

0/15 here.

Do I get a prize?

airynothing - 11 Sep 2021 14:20:17 (#10 of 109)

I think you do. Not having managed to encounter Adam Peaty at the Olympics, John Waite in GBBO, Robert Webb in Peep Show/discussions of masculinity, or Greg Wise in anything is quite an achievement.

Verdigris - 11 Sep 2021 13:25:01 (#11 of 109)

Indeed. I have watched none of those programmes. I suppose the penny might have drop when I heard RW's voice. Then I could have said, to nobody, "Ooh, isn't he that bloke off the wireless?"

Catspyjamas17 - 11 Sep 2021 14:33:51 (#12 of 109)

I didn't even include Waite in my nine, as I know who he is now from the SCD announcements, but didn't watch GBBO when he won.

Catspyjamas17 - 11 Sep 2021 14:42:10 (#13 of 109)

Nina Wadia has also been on TV, particularly BBC, quite regularly for the last 25 years, and Dan Walker has been around for a good ten years. I think most people would recognise them as someone off the TV even if they couldn't name them.

Hoping that after Strictly I'll stop getting Nina Wadia mixed up with Meera Syal.

carterbrandon - 11 Sep 2021 15:02:08 (#14 of 109)

Ooo! One of them nearly stayed in our house last year (theatrical digs, luvvie) in that period between being in a Poliakoff and Eastenders. presumably found somewhere nicer on the digs list. MrsB said she seemed lovely; they bonded over BSL.

Tenesmus - 11 Sep 2021 16:43:02 (#15 of 109)

3 for me, and no stand-outs to automatically love or loathe.

mancurse - 11 Sep 2021 20:18:39 (#16 of 109)

6 for me, although a couple of the names are familiar if not their faces.

But it never matters to me if I know who they are, I'd be perfectly happy if they did a non-celebrity one, it's usually their dancing or occasionally their personality that determines who I want to win/get to the final.

I haven't watched any It Takes Two since they gave the gig to Rylan, so for the last couple of years I've been much less engaged with Strictly, just watching the Saturday and Sunday shows.

mancurse - 11 Sep 2021 20:19:27 (#17 of 109)

Begins next Saturday! Winter has arrived.

Verdigris - 11 Sep 2021 19:28:43 (#18 of 109)

And I've got a pain in all the diodes down my left side.

Gigi76 - 11 Sep 2021 20:33:53 (#19 of 109)

I know 8 of them, but it hardly matters how many, as you get to know them.

airynothing - 11 Sep 2021 20:56:07 (#20 of 109)

#18 Ahahaha!
