New model house

Come and smize here

foxybrown - 15 Mar 2011 11:20:23 (#1 of 967)

Cycle 16: very predictable final two last night

KittyKarateRedux - 15 Mar 2011 17:18:38 (#2 of 967)

Not got there yet, cluttering up my Sky +.

foxybrown - 15 Mar 2011 18:22:53 (#3 of 967)

Ok I'll keep schtum

ottoline07 - 15 Mar 2011 20:56:55 (#4 of 967)

I was very disappointed with 'the most amazing person we have ever had on ANTM' being the editor of Italian Vogue. I thought it was going to be Anna Wintour.

I'm currently watching Gok, featuring a beautiful Matthew Williamson dress.

KittyKarateRedux - 15 Mar 2011 20:57:57 (#5 of 967)

Don't worry about it, it's gonna be Ann + sacrificial victim who has a less strong portfolio.

So probably not Kayla as she has a pretty consistent portfolio.

ottoline07 - 16 Mar 2011 18:13:11 (#6 of 967)

Was Tyra Banks an editorial or commercial model when she was working?

foxybrown - 16 Mar 2011 18:53:05 (#7 of 967)

She did runway in her early days AFAIK. Does Sports illustrated and Victoria secrets count as editorial or commercial?

ottoline07 - 16 Mar 2011 19:10:24 (#8 of 967)

Yes definitely commercial.

doctorsyntax - 16 Mar 2011 19:34:00 (#9 of 967)

There was one episode where she sat around scarfing pizza with the girls at a kind of slumber party. She shared that she was catwalk until she was 18 or thereabouts and developed BOOTY, when her managers told her to lose a few pounds. Then her mom stepped in and said "Screw that, let's get pizza". So they RE-SMIZED her career into commercial modelling.

ottoline07 - 16 Mar 2011 19:36:37 (#10 of 967)

I think she is really beautiful. I never think any of the girls get anywhere near her really.

foxybrown - 16 Mar 2011 19:39:49 (#11 of 967)

She's going to Harvard business school

doctorsyntax - 16 Mar 2011 19:41:26 (#12 of 967)

I don't know, there have been some right stunners over the years, although they don't always win. Some right mingers, too, though, like Lluvy, Xiomara, Jaeda, or Janet. Or the one from New Orleans who looked like a hammerhead shark.

I might take ANTM a leeeeeetle too seriously.

foxybrown - 16 Mar 2011 19:42:22 (#13 of 967)

Who was Janet?

doctorsyntax - 16 Mar 2011 19:47:37 (#14 of 967)

Oooh, about series 6 or thereabouts. She worked in a waxing salon and simulated giving Ty-ty a full Brazilian on the desk at her audition.

(I should point out I don't set out to remember this stuff, I have a stupidly retentive memory for this kind of crap).

Edit: Here she is:

I take it back, she's not as fug as I recall.

foxybrown - 16 Mar 2011 20:06:37 (#15 of 967)

I still don't remember her! she's rather plain like that Brenda from not long ago. More catalogue than catwalk

doctorsyntax - 16 Mar 2011 20:10:18 (#16 of 967)

Wendy Wiltz, that's the hammerhead shark girl:

foxybrown - 16 Mar 2011 20:25:41 (#17 of 967)

I remembered this one she had some beak on her

foxybrown - 21 Mar 2011 23:36:52 (#18 of 967)

Ann shouldn't be anywhere near this final. Her walk is ridiculous, she has to be one of the worst finalists of all time

KittyKarateRedux - 22 Mar 2011 08:20:06 (#19 of 967)

Her walk has improved - she's gone from 'Day of the Dead' to '28 Days Later' zoombie.

foxybrown - 22 Mar 2011 10:16:20 (#20 of 967)

HahaHa Kitty, I don't remember her walk early on tbh but this was so bad for the final.

Krista was a bit blue steel on the runway

Post by deleted user
foxybrown - 22 Mar 2011 15:39:47 (#22 of 967)

You mean Chelsey right? I didnt notice she had a tat tbh. Both finalists bored me. Krista was last years winner she was stomping down the runway last night too.

ottoline07 - 22 Mar 2011 22:20:23 (#23 of 967)

Big ears? Adams' apple? Spots on chin? Yes. Where can I sign on to become America's Next Top Model?

doctorsyntax - 23 Mar 2011 19:20:12 (#24 of 967)

Big ears? Adams' apple? Spots on chin?

C'mon, Isis wasn't that bad ;-)

(actually, while I applauded the sentiment behind Isis's presence on the show, I did think she was one of the fuglier contestants over the years. Not a patch on Andrej Pejic).

foxybrown - 23 Mar 2011 20:46:11 (#25 of 967)

Surely having a boy with no chest, arse or hips modelling women's clothes is the ultimate insult?

doctorsyntax - 23 Mar 2011 21:42:37 (#26 of 967)

I take your point. But it's not like any of the women have chests, arses or hips either.

foxybrown - 23 Mar 2011 22:10:17 (#27 of 967)

Yeah I did think that as I typed

FestinaLente - 24 Mar 2011 20:05:17 (#28 of 967)

What's up with emphasizing the gap between the front teeth? And the tattoos on everybody? These women are supposed to be chameleon coat-hangers, not individuals!

KittyKarateRedux - 12 May 2011 15:13:22 (#29 of 967)

I wrote something for mostly film on their blog about ANTM season 15

foxybrown - 12 May 2011 17:21:55 (#30 of 967)

Have we had 15 here yet? I don't to be spoiled, so to speak

Who did the last one? Was that jug eared Ann or did we have one after that?

KittyKarateRedux - 12 May 2011 19:47:53 (#31 of 967)

That was Ann, safe for spoilers.

DejaLu - 13 May 2011 14:16:34 (#32 of 967)

When do we start smizing for Season 16?

foxybrown - 13 May 2011 21:34:29 (#33 of 967)

God knows, maybe they will show BNTM first

doctorsyntax - 17 May 2011 20:31:59 (#34 of 967)

I see cycle 17 is announced as an all-star edition, bringing back wannabees from past cycles. One of whom is now 33 years old. Of course no-one with a shred of a career has signed up, so it'll be dreckitude all round.

foxybrown - 17 May 2011 21:17:38 (#35 of 967)

Hahaha 33 years old? Is it Jade? Or maybe Adrienne Curry?

Sounds like a classic

doctorsyntax - 17 May 2011 21:19:03 (#36 of 967)

No, it's Camille, way back from cycle 2 or something. All the mad girls and bitches (except Jade), plus lovely Allison.

foxybrown - 17 May 2011 21:29:49 (#37 of 967)

Oh I think Camille was a beeyatch; she wore red gold and green sweatbands as she was Jamaican. She was convinced she was going to be a superstar. This will be fun.

I didn't like Allison with her freaky eyes. Shudder

doctorsyntax - 17 May 2011 21:39:13 (#38 of 967)

Awww, Allison was a sweetie though. Freaky eyes notwithstanding.

KittyKarateRedux - 18 May 2011 08:52:08 (#39 of 967)

I loved Allison, she never seemed that she *needed* to be a model and was just along for a laugh, but gave it 100% throughout.

Was Camille the one with the signature walk?

foxybrown - 18 May 2011 09:16:21 (#40 of 967)

Yes now you mention it, I didn't post that last night as I wasn't sure. Didn't she say something like the walk was going to make her or break her? I guess it broke her if she still needs ANTM at 33

doctorsyntax - 18 May 2011 09:35:52 (#41 of 967)

Yes, Camille was indeed the one with the Signature Walk That Would Make Her Famous.

I also loved Allison's dress sense. She really had an eye for fashion, whereas most of them look like they dress at New Look.

foxybrown - 20 May 2011 09:41:20 (#42 of 967)

Grrr don't go on DM website today, I think I just saw the winner of the next ANTM not the all-star one

KittyKarateRedux - 20 May 2011 09:41:58 (#43 of 967)

The Daily Mail is a bloody nightmare. Good job I have the memory of a goldfish.

Post by deleted user
foxybrown - 20 May 2011 10:08:47 (#45 of 967)

Strangely I will remember crap like this, but important stuff.. no chance

doctorsyntax - 20 May 2011 10:19:45 (#46 of 967)

That's why I watch it on Youtube - it even scoops the DM! (My favourite in cycle 16 got kicked out half-way through for having dead eyes).

foxybrown - 20 May 2011 11:44:43 (#47 of 967)

Do they have whole episodes on you tube or do you have to watch twelvety bits to make up one show?

doctorsyntax - 20 May 2011 11:48:55 (#48 of 967)

They're usually chopped up into chunks of five.

foxybrown - 20 May 2011 12:08:22 (#49 of 967)

Ok, now do I have the patience for that?

KittyKarateRedux - 02 Jun 2011 09:10:33 (#50 of 967)

Oooh trailers for BNTM..

Looks like the same people on the panel, Elle looking fab but facially immobile. Charly looking all cheekbones. Vile little dwarf looking like a poisoned apple and fashionista actually looking quite pretty without all her pointless accessories.

foxybrown - 02 Jun 2011 10:04:19 (#51 of 967)

Ooh I was just coming to post about seeing the trailer. I see they have included Ireland too, is that really necessary seeing as they had a Maltese winner last time

KittyKarateRedux - 28 Jun 2011 15:15:39 (#52 of 967)

Monday July 4th!

foxybrown - 28 Jun 2011 15:21:04 (#53 of 967)

Oh yes!

Open the windows to air out the model house

That little judge from a few seasons back, Louis Mariette was all over the royal Ascot coverage, he makes some ridiculous hats

DejaLu - 28 Jun 2011 15:28:54 (#54 of 967)

<smizes in delight>

DejaLu - 04 Jul 2011 20:49:08 (#55 of 967)

foxybrown - 04 Jul 2011 21:17:51 (#56 of 967)

I'm here late after going to water my garden

not a euphanism

Are they doing some kind of X Factor format?

foxybrown - 04 Jul 2011 21:18:54 (#57 of 967)

Oh it's now being called BINTM. Ahem

foxybrown - 04 Jul 2011 21:26:55 (#58 of 967)

It is damn boring

schamachameleon - 04 Jul 2011 21:27:24 (#59 of 967)

foxybrown - 04 Jul 2011 21:30:13 (#60 of 967)

Hello Schama, I'm bored

Is Grace pregnant?

schamachameleon - 04 Jul 2011 21:38:39 (#61 of 967)

Grace who?

This is not very good. Is this a new format?

foxybrown - 04 Jul 2011 21:42:24 (#62 of 967)

Grace is one of the judges, the one that isn't Elle

I love taking off the Afro to display another wig. WTF?

foxybrown - 04 Jul 2011 21:44:27 (#63 of 967)

Yes it's a new format, they are going for the X Factor thing and it's not working

I hope this is only for this week. It's dragging

schamachameleon - 04 Jul 2011 21:46:50 (#64 of 967)

This is really tedious and rather cruel.

I'm glad they ditched the arrogant drama student though.

Who is the Welshman with lipstick? He reminds me of someone.

foxybrown - 04 Jul 2011 21:57:13 (#65 of 967)

Julian McDonald he's a designer. Very bitchy, I liked his line about Brenda needing a personality

schamachameleon - 04 Jul 2011 22:03:33 (#66 of 967)

Ah, the designer. I've seen his stuff in Debenhams. I hate it.

schamachameleon - 04 Jul 2011 22:03:59 (#67 of 967)

I liked his line too, though. And I enjoyed his contributions generally.

foxybrown - 04 Jul 2011 22:04:59 (#68 of 967)

It's overly colourful isn't it? His clothing line

He is the Janice Dickinson of the panel; albeit prettier

I hate this format, I may return when they actually get into the house

Sorcha65 - 04 Jul 2011 22:09:34 (#69 of 967)

I did like the short clip of the lumpen blonde woman who was utterly incredulous that she didn't have what it took to be a model, and instantly said that neither did Elle McPherson. Something very Pete and Dud about her (could've been a High Court Judge, but she didn't have the Latin).

foxybrown - 04 Jul 2011 22:10:55 (#70 of 967)

Damn I missed that Sorcha, sounds like the best bit of the programme

That big girl they chose at the end was frightening

schamachameleon - 04 Jul 2011 22:29:37 (#71 of 967)

She was very scary indeed.

Sorcha65 - 04 Jul 2011 22:30:43 (#72 of 967)

Didn't scare me as much as the girl who just thought she was the best person she'd ever met. I thought they were far too gentle on her.

DejaLu - 04 Jul 2011 22:38:03 (#73 of 967)

Oh, she was terrifying. And how can most of these people think they look modelly?

foxybrown - 04 Jul 2011 22:38:44 (#74 of 967)

I bet she auditions for everything, look out for her on BB later this year

KittyKarateRedux - 05 Jul 2011 08:57:22 (#75 of 967)

Isn't the Xfactor format an import from early OzNTM? Erika and other grumpy blonde used to do audition panels in shopping malls. At least OzNTM used to get a decent turn out. Literally tens of girls were there at Glasgow.

Julian is little poisoned apple, and I now have an inkling about his 'type' thanks to the girl he championed.

They really don't need 2 episodes of auditions, just 1 with a certain amount of freak pointing and lingering camera shots of the girls that get through boot camp.

I think the highland dancing/cossack hat girl had the worst cankles I've seen since I looked in the mirror.

foxybrown - 05 Jul 2011 09:11:34 (#76 of 967)

I also missed highland Cossack dancing girl.

Kitty you are so right about Julian's type; I bet he likes to be squashed

DejaLu - 05 Jul 2011 16:00:22 (#77 of 967)

Ohhh! Horror!

I did think the very tall girl Charlie model-spotted looked Erin O'Connor-ish.

KittyKarateRedux - 06 Jul 2011 09:35:51 (#78 of 967)

Did anyone watch that Dirty Pretty Things (E4 Mondays 10pm)?

Internationally renowned photographer 'Perou' taking pictures for an exhibition.

sophster - 06 Jul 2011 16:21:15 (#79 of 967)

Just caught up with this off the v-box. Was quite a tedious episode, laughed at the sad handful of girls loitering outside some warehouse type building in Glasgow, laughed more at the highland dancing cankles. I really liked the supertall Glasgow streetwalker Charlie picked. I thought the london girls were all a bit meh apart from afro girl who looked quite petite and Wonder Woman who was certainly a bit different.

Tenesmus - 08 Jul 2011 00:53:21 (#80 of 967)

This programme looks very good in HD on my 50" plasma.

foxybrown - 11 Jul 2011 21:14:33 (#81 of 967)

It looks like only 30 girls turned up in Cardiff and they were looking for talent on a Monday night

foxybrown - 11 Jul 2011 21:24:44 (#82 of 967)

The jiggly girl is deluded. The other one in the bikini is very pretty

foxybrown - 11 Jul 2011 21:27:04 (#83 of 967)

They are liking the big mixed race draggy ones so far this series

schamachameleon - 11 Jul 2011 21:27:06 (#84 of 967)

This is very dull. When will this audition tedium end?

foxybrown - 11 Jul 2011 21:39:47 (#85 of 967)

It seems like it's gonna take ages, they are talking about semi finals. Why didn't they just do it as normal? Or even have 2 hours last week and get the thing going this week

foxybrown - 11 Jul 2011 21:42:21 (#86 of 967)

Are they just picking the tallest people regardless of looks?

Three post ment but the Morticia one with the overplucked eyebrows is awful.

I love Grace's blue tassled shoes. Gorgeous

Oh god more auditions next week, this is going to go on for weeks; it's no X Factor

schamachameleon - 11 Jul 2011 23:18:21 (#90 of 967)

Wake me up when it actually starts.

doctorsyntax - 11 Jul 2011 23:32:39 (#91 of 967)

I liked it when Highland Cankles said "I was third runner-up in Fife's Next Top Model".

so far, I like the va-va-voom Turkish girl. I think there are some possible diamonds in the rough among the rest.

foxybrown - 11 Jul 2011 23:35:49 (#92 of 967)

I Paid attention this week and still don't know the ones you are referring to

KittyKarateRedux - 12 Jul 2011 09:21:26 (#93 of 967)

Ye Gods! Another week of this audition tedium? Bored Bored Bored.

sophster - 12 Jul 2011 09:31:26 (#94 of 967)

They were all pretty forgettable last night except for juliens art student and morticia adams, and that's only really because they got most of the screen time. I am so bored of auditions I want makeovers and model house bitchiness.

KittyKarateRedux - 12 Jul 2011 10:19:45 (#95 of 967)

Dirty Pretty Things (E4) is getting a bit bitchier.

This week we had 3 (Ariella, Jay and BB) off to Paris to meet agencies there. In order:- Too old, too short, possibly too black but booked.

Jessye J (girl who didn't pay attention) and Lingerie girl went on a blind date dinner party hosted by Rob (Mens Health model), which was a disaster as the host served them red meat and tried to fix them up with porn barons.

Poor Man's Jude Law was pretty much anonymous in this episode.

Ocean, the quirky girl booked some catwalk work, and then was a complete mardarse on the Perou shoot as the hairdresser had put her ponytail in too tight. She did the best photos in the end.

foxybrown - 12 Jul 2011 14:55:22 (#96 of 967)

Poor Man's Jude Law

That really made me laugh

Maybe I should watch this instead of BINTM which is terrible

KittyKarateRedux - 12 Jul 2011 15:00:33 (#97 of 967)

Would help if I gave you the proper name of the program.

foxybrown - 12 Jul 2011 16:05:03 (#98 of 967)

Ha I still knew what you meant Kitty

Junebug - 12 Jul 2011 19:31:57 (#99 of 967)

why do they walk in their swimsuit in Glasgow and in their clothes in London?

First time I'm watching the UK version and the judges are hateful!

foxybrown - 18 Jul 2011 21:07:00 (#100 of 967)

Last week of auditions thank god

But then there will be at least one week of bootcamp until we get to the promised land of model house and shit makeovers

KittyKarateRedux - 19 Jul 2011 09:44:11 (#101 of 967)

Still bored with this. Why did Elle meet up with Ronan Keating?

Did like the lumpen girl saying that Elle didn't have that 'model face' and it was much easier to get into the industry back then. Then referring to Grace as a bitch.

Dirty Sexy Things was pretty good - Perou was once again a weapons grade cock to his models, but the final shot was brilliant (but so much to chance in it - if the people manning the paint buckets cocked up then the shot was worthless). Ariella refused to wear a thong body. Pretty soon she'll be showing up in a niquab.

foxybrown - 19 Jul 2011 10:11:28 (#102 of 967)

Did like the lumpen girl saying that Elle didn't have that 'model face' and it was much easier to get into the industry back then. Then referring to Grace as a bitch.

I only saw this bit as just after the beginning I turned over to Embarrassing Teens and was engrossed (grossed) but a girl's infected scalp, was much more interesting

Still didn't watch the Dirty Pretty Things

I wonder if NTM has lost viewers?

sophster - 19 Jul 2011 10:57:55 (#103 of 967)

Only half watched this last night. All the girls seemed pretty forgettable except for stroppy lumpy blonde, baby faced Gina Davis lookey-likey and strange big faced manc.

UnequalTwin - 19 Jul 2011 13:06:47 (#104 of 967)

Why did Elle meet up with Ronan Keating?

Presumably to explain the existence of Ireland for the less mentally astute viewer.

Actually, I happened to be in BT2 on one of the days they were filming. I saw nothing but a few cameramen.

doctorsyntax - 20 Jul 2011 19:09:28 (#105 of 967)

I've just caught up on Youtube. Only seen one really modelesque girl so far - Amy (?) who looks like a cross between Noel Fielding and Paula Hamilton. She's head and shoulders above any of the others, yet only Julien liked her. Honestly, they should put me on the panel. I've got much better taste than Grace and Charlie put together.

Sorcha65 - 21 Jul 2011 21:06:32 (#106 of 967)

I did like the cross girl who couldn't see what Elle had that she hadn't, and who thought Elle got into modelling when there was less competition.

DejaLu - 21 Jul 2011 21:22:43 (#107 of 967)

Is it worth catching up with the past two weeks? I've zapped them but am weighed down by audition ennuie.

foxybrown - 21 Jul 2011 21:34:41 (#108 of 967)

No point whatsoever Deja, delete

Hopefully the final sift will be on Monday and the show will start proper the following week

DejaLu - 21 Jul 2011 21:52:33 (#109 of 967)

Thanks, Foxy. Less queuing, more SMIZEing!

doctorsyntax - 21 Jul 2011 22:00:14 (#110 of 967)

Watching Julien + mate trogging round a completely empty Cardiff shopping precinct on a Saturday night on the lookout for the next Gisele the was mildly amusing. Best watched with severe jetlag.

Sorcha65 - 23 Jul 2011 11:14:29 (#111 of 967)

No, wouldn't bother. Next week is the sift, so will probably be skippable as well. It only really gets interesting when you start to get a vague sense of what they're like.

btw am I very old, or very reticent, to be shocked by the number of girls who when asked 'tell us what you're like' start by saying 'I'm a really great person'? I just find this bewildering, and it seems to come from what may be ordinary decent human beings as well as fame-crazed dipsticks.

DejaLu - 23 Jul 2011 11:53:53 (#112 of 967)

Nope - I can't imagine saying that in a million, billion, zillion years.

foxybrown - 23 Jul 2011 18:26:04 (#113 of 967)

I'm a really great person

Because I said so, innit

If you have to say that you are, you probably are not

doctorsyntax - 23 Jul 2011 18:27:29 (#114 of 967)

I suspect it's because they've all been watching too much ANTM, where if you don't say that, you're out on your ear for not believing in yourself.

foxybrown - 25 Jul 2011 21:14:28 (#115 of 967)

So far not too bad, still sticking with the poundland X Factor format though

I laughed at one of the group shots where someone tilted their head back so far the picture was of their neck

foxybrown - 25 Jul 2011 21:23:35 (#116 of 967)

Kimberleigh? Juste?Lauri?

I have a weird first name but WTF?

Sorcha65 - 25 Jul 2011 21:25:27 (#117 of 967)

Don't be hard on yourself. Foxy's a great name.

foxybrown - 25 Jul 2011 21:27:04 (#118 of 967)

I'm liking this week's ep so far

foxybrown - 25 Jul 2011 21:37:09 (#119 of 967)

Big Jessica the squasher looks my age

ottoline07 - 25 Jul 2011 21:58:43 (#120 of 967)

That Liverpudlian girl looks like Lindsay Lohan - post binge. Photo-genity is like alchemy. A lot of them look rough as fuck and then look amazing on film.

foxybrown - 25 Jul 2011 22:08:09 (#121 of 967)

Yes I'm not impressed by any of them tbh, that final ensemble photo was not memorable. The freckled girl looks the prettiest but possibly too similar to the winner from a couple of years ago who incidentally has Bern in the guardian saturday magazine a couple of times

The Liverpudlian girl looked like one of the Atomic Kittens, the one that presents Hotter than My Daughter

schamachameleon - 25 Jul 2011 22:56:45 (#122 of 967)

Haven't watched for a while. Have they stopped with the stupid shopping centre selection committee now?

foxybrown - 25 Jul 2011 23:48:24 (#123 of 967)

Yes they selected the final 13 tonight, we get new model house next week

DejaLu - 25 Jul 2011 23:49:52 (#124 of 967)

Yay! Let the smizeing begin and the fierceness be unbounded!

foxybrown - 25 Jul 2011 23:53:20 (#125 of 967)

And the eyebrow transplant for one inmate

KittyKarateRedux - 26 Jul 2011 08:23:57 (#126 of 967)

Oh lord yes! That girl really needed her tweezers confiscating.

Not sure about any of the girls yet, I do quite like the look of Jade (freckles and golden skin - reminds me of Fo from ANTM) and I'll be really interested to see what they do with Modelzilla, apart from get her to crush Julian with her thighs.

foxybrown - 26 Jul 2011 14:29:56 (#127 of 967)

There was a freckly girl in the last ANTM (I think) who was booted out in the first week, she was very similar to this Jade

DejaLu - 26 Jul 2011 23:14:43 (#128 of 967)

Right - caught up now. I like Juste. She looks fantastically "modelesque". Jade's very pretty but she may develop the curse of "commercial".

foxybrown - 01 Aug 2011 21:30:08 (#129 of 967)

That Tanya is minging, wrinkled eyes, yellow teeth, witchy hair

I already hate Juste and Anastaja

foxybrown - 01 Aug 2011 21:59:03 (#130 of 967)

Makeover week next week. At last

schamachameleon - 01 Aug 2011 22:46:23 (#131 of 967)

I don't know who is who yet. So these names mean nothing!

foxybrown - 01 Aug 2011 22:57:17 (#132 of 967)

Surprisingly I know a few, the two I don't like are the eastern European sounding ones, they are making me feel all UKIP

doctorsyntax - 02 Aug 2011 12:09:57 (#133 of 967)

I finally worked out who Amy reminds me of: not Paula Hamilton, Patricia Hodge. Or, as Grace less charitably suggested, Kenneth Williams. Anyway, she's still my favourite.

I wonder what the deal with Brenda's passport was?

foxybrown - 02 Aug 2011 13:28:56 (#134 of 967)

She could not get a copy of her Ugandan passport, that was quite a common occurance I heard when I dealt with organisations who dealt with asylum seekers, maybe she is one.

That happened with a somali girl in the American version a couple of years back, she was in the competition until they had to go abroad.

KittyKarateRedux - 02 Aug 2011 13:31:02 (#135 of 967)

CNTM had a similar problem with an Iranian girl. She managed to spin it out for weeks, even having a private photoshoot done so she had something to present on the weeks where they rest had gone abroad. It was getting ridiculous though, and I think all the franchises have learned to check for passports early on now.

foxybrown - 02 Aug 2011 13:35:24 (#136 of 967)

I think all the franchises have learned to check for passports early on now.

Sounds like it. In the ANTM, they never said anything about this girl's passport until the episode where they were meant to be leaving.

I dont get that private photoshoot thing, she should have kicked off!

I dont like Kenneth Williams, she does indeed look like she is smelling shit. Poor girl

KittyKarateRedux - 02 Aug 2011 15:39:59 (#137 of 967)

In the ANTM, they never said anything about this girl's passport until the episode where they were meant to be leaving.

In America it used to be much less common to have a passport, you could get in and out of Mexico, Bermuda and Canada on just a driving license. Chaos followed when they swapped it to need a passport as their passport service was inundated with requests and a 6month wait was possible. So I could see ANTM getting suckered by "It's in the post" a lot more than other franchises.

I dont get that private photoshoot thing, she should have kicked off!

I agree. But she did take such good photos, and it was a good way of getting rid of commercial girls.

Junebug - 02 Aug 2011 17:49:51 (#138 of 967)

they are all so so skinny! Can't believe Jess is the 'fat' one.

doctorsyntax - 03 Aug 2011 08:29:15 (#139 of 967)

I used to be that skinny, and I was hugely self-conscious and lived in baggy jumpers hiding behind my hair. Sigh. Youth is wasted on the young.

foxybrown - 03 Aug 2011 09:21:18 (#140 of 967)

They did give Jess a most unfortunate dress

sophster - 03 Aug 2011 09:31:05 (#141 of 967)

Glad they got rid of the two most annoying girls last night.

KittyKarateRedux - 03 Aug 2011 09:53:47 (#142 of 967)

I feel sorry for Glamazon - she will have her self esteem whittled down mercilessly. Thought the eastern european girls were a bit of a nightmare.

sophster - 03 Aug 2011 10:04:29 (#143 of 967)

That Anastasia seems a right bitch what with Tanya not taking her along to the crystal shop and hardly being grateful for the bracelet she was given as a peace offering.

I am liking Jess a lot. I'm always a bit confused when the models get really good feedback at the shoot and then end up with a crap picture.

Can't wait until makeover time next week, that's probably always my favourite bit.

KittyKarateRedux - 03 Aug 2011 10:21:01 (#144 of 967)

Makeover week is usually when the girls start to look distinctive and I can start remembering their names.

Junebug - 03 Aug 2011 10:54:35 (#145 of 967)

me too I used to be that skinny, able to count my ribs. Did I use it, flaunt?! Did I heck: oversized clothe as I was feeling 'insecure'. Youth is wasted on the young indeed.

foxybrown - 03 Aug 2011 12:06:18 (#146 of 967)

That Anastasia seems a right bitch what with Tanya not taking her along to the crystal shop and hardly being grateful for the bracelet she was given as a peace offering.

Oh she was grateful for the bracelet, but if she crosses her again.... what a bitch; if she was so mad with Tanya she should have refused the bracelet

doctorsyntax - 03 Aug 2011 21:03:53 (#147 of 967)

This has been niggling away at me for days: Stacey = Tilda Swinton.

DejaLu - 03 Aug 2011 21:31:02 (#148 of 967)

I really hated that they had to play that stupid questions game that seemed designed to engineer bitchiness. And I don't think Anastasja (or however you spell it) looks modelly at all. Just ordinary pretty. And Jess has a fantastic, athletic body - I hope she doesn't try to starve herself to the others' size.

doctorsyntax - 03 Aug 2011 21:42:31 (#149 of 967)

I quite agree.

Tanya is a sweetie for buying Anastasija a bracelet. What a nice gesture.

KittyKarateRedux - 09 Aug 2011 10:10:11 (#150 of 967)

Ah, makeover week! Gotta love it.

So most of the girls got 'like you but better' make overs. Tanya got the photo from the wall of the 1980s hairdresser, but it did look really good on her. Really liked the dark elfin cut on eastern european girl.

Pity the girls that got Julian as makeover chooser. You know your doomed when you look at his hair, which he considers 'Gowgeous'. Anastasija got a my little pony pink dye job. Amy, had her hair dyed black. At this point MrKitty started guffawing and saying "She looks just like Noel Fielding". This did make the photoshoot where she gained Vince Noir eyemakeup even more awkward.

foxybrown - 10 Aug 2011 23:06:51 (#151 of 967)

She did look like Noel fielding, she needs to go as she will never have any other expression than smelling shit

The pink hair was revolting, the girl who got booted had nothing done to her; she and the big girl were supposed to have their hair relaxed but they both looked like it wasn't done. Didn't like the bowl head one of Tanya either

As per usual I'm amazed that people who want to model dont expect to change their hair

DejaLu - 11 Aug 2011 00:21:13 (#152 of 967)

Ha! I was shouting NOEL FIELDING! at the screen.

foxybrown - 11 Aug 2011 00:36:25 (#153 of 967)

Until I read it here it didn't click but she has a future career as his stunt double

DejaLu - 11 Aug 2011 08:17:39 (#154 of 967)

I do feel sorry for her - she looked so much better at the red-head stage of her make-over. Julian is utterly evil.

foxybrown - 11 Aug 2011 08:35:42 (#155 of 967)

Julian was just wrecking people for kicks

Junebug - 11 Aug 2011 09:07:35 (#156 of 967)

Noel Fielding! That's it!

And what about what the non-elle judge was wearing at elimination? It looked like an old curtain. HORRIBLE. And she dare critice the girls?!

pink hair are awful and don't match her skin tone. She looked ill. And they should have booted the too skinny girl. She also looked ill in her picture.

ottoline07 - 11 Aug 2011 09:21:41 (#157 of 967)

We were all Noel Fielding here too. By God she was miserable cah. I very much liked short haired girl although I did as usual laugh at their haircut angst. As someone who changes their hair all the time I have no sympathy for the haven't cut my hair since I was five flappy hand brigade. Grow up, you want to be a model and you think you're going to get any say over how you look?

foxybrown - 11 Aug 2011 09:42:23 (#158 of 967)

But Otto they are sooo beeyouteefull who would want to change them?

ottoline07 - 11 Aug 2011 09:47:45 (#159 of 967)

Yeah right Foxy. I actually do think terribly thin Irish girl is beautiful whilst the Irish girl with long hair they are all raving about is nowt special (thank God this thread doesn't have a web-cam).

sophster - 11 Aug 2011 09:50:41 (#160 of 967)

Another Noel Fielding giggle here as well. Definitely thought she looked better at the intermediate red stage.

I think Juste looks soooooooooooo much better and much more model-ly with the short brown hair.

Skinny girl ended up with grey hair to clash with her grey skin which was a bad look.

Loved Jess nailing the nude shoot, especially after the fugly green debacle last week.

Still liking Tanya who managed to rock a pretty ropey makeover.

Bottle blonde (Holly?) was so meh at judging she didn't look anything like her photo. Can't see her staying long if she doesn't cheer up at judging.

foxybrown - 11 Aug 2011 09:55:38 (#161 of 967)

I mixed Holly and Thin girl up, I thought one of them should go

ottoline07 - 11 Aug 2011 09:56:40 (#162 of 967)

Is grey locks tosser Lamb always one of the judges, because he leant a decidedly creepy air to the proceedings, like Nigel but without the photography skills.

ottoline07 - 11 Aug 2011 09:58:04 (#163 of 967)

Also someone needs to have a word with McPherson about her hair, she needs to let go of the 1990s big hair thing she's clinging on to.

foxybrown - 11 Aug 2011 10:01:10 (#164 of 967)

I though McPherson had a cheek telling people to lop off their hair when she looked like an afghan hound

Lamb has been on before but is not a regular judge

Oh I've just remembered the treat, what rubbish. A burbling child called Chipmonk

ottoline07 - 11 Aug 2011 10:04:11 (#165 of 967)

Who most of them didn't know.

foxybrown - 11 Aug 2011 10:05:38 (#166 of 967)

Apart from the one who tried to give him her number, I couldn't help imagining her parents watching that!

Junebug - 11 Aug 2011 11:00:38 (#167 of 967)

arf, Elle's hair were awful! It's so much better (read worse) than the US one.

scotsbear - 11 Aug 2011 14:57:40 (#168 of 967)

Do they show RuPaul's Drag Race in the UK? It's everything ANTM wishes it could be.

DejaLu - 11 Aug 2011 17:28:06 (#169 of 967)

Also someone needs to have a word with McPherson about her hair, she needs to let go of the 1990s big hair thing she's clinging on to.

Absolutely! It looks completely ridic.

The not-anorexic Irish girl (Hannah?) reminds me a bit of the nice girl who everyone liked in the last series but wasn't quite modelly enough. What was her name?

foxybrown - 11 Aug 2011 18:43:30 (#170 of 967)

Charlotte, yes I thought that the other day. I did like Charlotte, this one not so much

DejaLu - 11 Aug 2011 22:12:41 (#171 of 967)

Yes! Charlotte.

Narnia - 13 Aug 2011 19:31:35 (#172 of 967)

I have a burning hatred of Anastasja. I thought she was ok at first but when Tanya won the challenge and she stropped about not being invited, I thought what a spolit bitch!

peally - 15 Aug 2011 13:33:47 (#173 of 967)

foxy told me to watch this, and then to join you all on here. I've never watched any before so I'm turning up at episode 6 and will annoy you all with my lack of etiquette :-).

I too think Elle's hair is ridiculous, smooth it down! It's all I can look at.

The girls all crying at their hair getting the chop made me laugh, it will grow back! I'd love someone to chop all my hair off, I only keep it long because it's quicker to tie back and you have to style short hair. I though the really short style was great and looked it too, it was wasted on the girl moaning that she looked like a boy. The pink hair was shit and didn't match the girl's skin tone at all. Everyone else's hair looked the same - oh wait! Noel Felding - yes! That was who she looked like.

I didn't understand why they didn't get rid of the girl who was too skinny, she isn't suddenly going to fatten up is she?

KittyKarateRedux - 15 Aug 2011 13:36:21 (#174 of 967)

They have had a too skinny girl previously - Jade, who was very open about her previous eating disorder.

I think they monitor the too skinnies to see if they're eating or not, and shuffle them out if they are too much trouble.

foxybrown - 15 Aug 2011 13:41:21 (#175 of 967)

Welcome to the thread, Peally

eyes the newcomer suspiciously

I think they have chucked someone out before for being too skinny, maybe that was the american one

peally - 15 Aug 2011 13:47:31 (#176 of 967)

Do they have to do a shuffle of shame? That would be good, not because they are too skinny obviously, any reason will do

Narnia - 15 Aug 2011 16:34:58 (#177 of 967)

It would be tops if after Elle told them they were out she pointed at the door and said "Now do the Shame Shuffle"

foxybrown - 15 Aug 2011 18:02:18 (#178 of 967)

It's odd now how they are showing them corralled in a tatty little room, they still have the bitter little speech at the end but not much of a shuffle of shame

foxybrown - 15 Aug 2011 21:19:28 (#179 of 967)

The two European girls really are being the wicked witches of the east(ern bloc)

arborealprimate - 15 Aug 2011 21:22:02 (#180 of 967)

They're evil!

foxybrown - 15 Aug 2011 21:43:12 (#181 of 967)

Hi Arbs, long time no see

I've enjoyed this week's episode so far: cussing, psyching out attempts, hawks, drunken fumbles. What's not to like?

DejaLu - 15 Aug 2011 23:08:19 (#182 of 967)

I can't actually work out what Evil Anastasija and Bolshy Tanya were supposed to be arguing about. Or what, in the judges' opinion, makes a good or a bad pic. Seems completely random. And I thought Juste's pic was great.

foxybrown - 15 Aug 2011 23:18:22 (#183 of 967)

Wasn't it just a BUILD UP of tension, DejaLu?

I thought Juste's pic was alright but she is a cow so she can feck off

DejaLu - 15 Aug 2011 23:33:47 (#184 of 967)

But Bolshy Tanya was telling Evil Anastasija that she was fookin' low, and I don't know why!! I feel there's something we're not being told...

foxybrown - 16 Aug 2011 00:09:23 (#185 of 967)

She was fooking lower than dirt!

Yes you are right, the aggro was rather disjointed; I assumed that Tanya had heard about the backbiting, but her reaction was rather too strong for that

I've just switched back to Living Tv and there's a programme on about soldiers having sex changes, this station just keeps on giving

KittyKarateRedux - 17 Aug 2011 09:23:15 (#186 of 967)

The wicked witches of the Eastern Europe are getting very annoying, especially Anastasija. Classic the way they try and get Tanya to say that her photoshoot went well, just so they can slate her for being over confident. Also all the complaining about noise in the bedroom, buy an eyemask and some earplugs you silly mare!

Juste's outfits looked good on the catwalk, but surely she should have lost for faceplanting off the stairs twice?

I thought Noel Fielding's picture was terrible. No neck and still the fart smelling expression. I felt sorry for pretty girl losing out to her really.

How good was that photographer? All of his shots seemed really well composed, with the right balance between background stuff and the model.

foxybrown - 17 Aug 2011 09:32:39 (#187 of 967)

Kitty you just summed up this week excellently, I did not get the Juste win either, all adds to the drama I suppose

I didn't see the bit in the trailers where that silly girl with the bob was going on about needing big teeth to win, was it at the beginning? And was she referring to Jessica? She seems to be taking a battering from the other girls as the judges like her

sophster - 17 Aug 2011 09:44:51 (#188 of 967)

I am liking Jess more and more every week. Her photo this week was a bit mad starey eyes but it was all about her rather than anything else in the photo and I liked the way she was a bit wobbled by the mean girls but then though fuck 'em they're just being bitchy and playing mind games.

Really bored of Noel Fielding, can't see her lasting much longer unless she learns to tilt her chin up and stop doing the smelled a fart expression. amazed that Holly is still in the competition as she always looks so bored with everything.

I couldn't understand Juste winning the challenge when she was really wobbly in heels, I do think she looked best in her outfits. Much better than naked dress Tanya, that was yukky.

Much as I hate Anastasijas bitchiness I kind of get the grumpy sleep thing. I am totally evil if I don't get my sleep and it must be really hard sleeping in a small room with loads of shrieky girls.

foxybrown - 17 Aug 2011 10:18:51 (#189 of 967)

I get the sleep thing but I think they said she wanted everyone to go to bed the same time as her, which is rather controlling

I like Jess but she's not a top model though

Tanya is rather skanky, the multitude of tags and net dress didnt help

I saw Ufoma and Alisha from last year (Richard Blackwood) on a website for hair extensions.

I notice that when they show the prizes in this series, the model agency has pictures of last year's winner, snaggle toothed misery Joy and the winner from the year before but no Alisha, the runner up; which is a shame as I thought she was really good

DejaLu - 17 Aug 2011 22:19:29 (#190 of 967)

Joy Green-teeth!

I can't believe Holly's still in it. She doesn't look like a Topp Modelle, she looks like a Saturday girl in Miss Selfridge.

arborealprimate - 17 Aug 2011 22:27:05 (#191 of 967)

I loved Joyless. She should so have won.

foxybrown - 17 Aug 2011 22:33:01 (#192 of 967)

Joyless made me want to slit my wrists, I can't imagine what she'd be used to sell funeral cover? Certainly not toothpaste

Holly is just bizarre, she's so boring. Same with Stacey (I think), another blonde

arborealprimate - 17 Aug 2011 22:34:34 (#193 of 967)

Her teeth were awful, but her photos were ace. Better than bloody mogadon-voice who won it, anyway.

Holly is amazingly out of place and can't possibly last much longer.

foxybrown - 17 Aug 2011 22:38:33 (#194 of 967)

Mogodon voice was a wierd one, still she has one gig on hair dye box shown in Glee ad breaks

peally - 18 Aug 2011 10:18:09 (#195 of 967)

I would never, ever hold one of those eagle thingies for a photoshoot, I don't care how nice that sandal's holiday looks.

I think they are keeping in Noel Felding because they feel bad about what they did to her hair.

KittyKarateRedux - 18 Aug 2011 10:20:13 (#196 of 967)

I really fancied the look of the falconry - really would like to have a go.

foxybrown - 18 Aug 2011 10:24:13 (#197 of 967)

They really fucked Poor Noel over, strangely it looked better this week but she has only one expression, smelling shit which is really unfortunate. It was funny how she was the one who copped off with the wanky male model

peally - 18 Aug 2011 10:25:59 (#198 of 967)

the male models were SO annoying, with their catwalk stuff

I'd have killed them

I'm now practising fierce expressions to see if I look like I'm smelling shit

foxybrown - 18 Aug 2011 10:27:30 (#199 of 967)

I think you need to have Noel's particular eye, nose, mouth ratio for that special look

doctorsyntax - 21 Aug 2011 20:32:11 (#200 of 967)

I don't think they should have eliminated sqiffy-eyed Hannah over Holly. That girl is as bland as white sauce. Stacey was by far the best photo this week.

DejaLu - 21 Aug 2011 21:22:02 (#201 of 967)

Holly looks like a goldfish in a wig.

doctorsyntax - 21 Aug 2011 21:44:09 (#202 of 967)

In profile, her nose could double for one of those big long bumpy slides you have at adventure playgrounds.

I did love the styling for the falconry shoot, I have to say.

ottoline07 - 21 Aug 2011 22:09:41 (#203 of 967)

Is Stacey the terribly thin one? I like her a lot. I'm also beginning to quite like Noel Fielding and Chrissie Hynde.

Why didn't they point and laugh at Elle when she walked in at the beginning with enormohair?

doctorsyntax - 21 Aug 2011 22:44:22 (#204 of 967)

Stacey is a Terribly Thin Tilda Swinton. She's my second favourite after Patricia Hodge (or Noel, if you prefer) who I suspect is for the chop in the next week or two.

doctorsyntax - 22 Aug 2011 07:38:37 (#205 of 967)

I don't think Jess is quite top model material, but I love her now I know she's got a degree in translating and interpreting from UEA. I love a smart girl, me.

foxybrown - 22 Aug 2011 21:04:43 (#206 of 967)

Who are these chumps?

foxybrown - 22 Aug 2011 21:10:19 (#207 of 967)

Huh? You were totally unprofessional but you win the challenge. WTF?

foxybrown - 22 Aug 2011 21:43:21 (#208 of 967)

I know it's just me here but decisions must surely be easy this week

DejaLu - 22 Aug 2011 21:59:02 (#209 of 967)

I'm here. Jordan next week! Can't wait!

Sorcha65 - 22 Aug 2011 22:06:39 (#210 of 967)

Jordan and Julian are going to be the combo from hell.

They're mostly a dull lot, aren't they? Jessica and Jade are gorgeous, Anastasija and Juste seem to have entered into some bizarre paranoid folie a deux, and I've forgotten most of the rest already.

DejaLu - 22 Aug 2011 22:08:48 (#211 of 967)

Jessica is fab, but at some point they'll notice she doesn't look like a Modelle.

Julian is a horror. And a lying little toe-rag - he was the one who didn't want Noel Fielding in the house, and then made her over to look like something from a Japanese horror film.

foxybrown - 22 Aug 2011 22:17:34 (#212 of 967)

Jordan is going to be class next week telling people to jog on

Anawhatsit and Juste are slowly driving each other crazy. Good

I am now watching Extreme Couponing. Bonkers consumerism and hoarding with a bit of god bothering thrown in

Sorcha65 - 22 Aug 2011 22:55:35 (#213 of 967)

I think Julian's been asked to ramp up the bitchiness, having been all fluffy for the last few weeks.

Narnia - 23 Aug 2011 10:53:14 (#214 of 967)

My hatred of Juste and that other pink haired girl is growing. How can you be so un-self aware to think that when you decide to alienate yourself from th erest of the group and they decide not to bother to try and draw you in anymore that it is them being bitches.

ottoline07 - 23 Aug 2011 10:54:34 (#215 of 967)

It's a shame that the two bitchiest girls are also the two not born in either UK or Ireland.

foxybrown - 23 Aug 2011 11:17:35 (#216 of 967)

It made me laugh that they didn't speak to the others about their night out, which was totally fine of course, but how dare the others not talk to them thenext day. Does self awareness stop at Dover? I sound very UKIP there, but they are bringing it out of me.

peally - 25 Aug 2011 10:02:43 (#217 of 967)

I watched this with my niece last night, she said it was rubbish and that she was only going to watch ANTM from now on

I feel sorry for Noel, but not for Holly or whatever she was called. I think Noel felt uncomfortable all the time because they made her look shit and she was a bit posher than the rest. I like it that she had no idea who The Wanted are, as I don't know either.

Imogen only seems to have on expression as well, blank, with a straight mouth. Do they not all practise in the mirror nonstop?

foxybrown - 25 Aug 2011 10:09:14 (#218 of 967)

Peally your niece is a hard woman

I too loved that Noel had no clue who that twatty group was; she dented their rubbishy patter with that.

She was found on the street by one of the judges, so probably never wanted to model and now they've fucked her up with stupid jet black straw hair

DejaLu - 25 Aug 2011 10:11:22 (#219 of 967)

"The Wanting" was a perfect description of those boys.

doctorsyntax - 25 Aug 2011 15:28:09 (#220 of 967)

She was found on the street by one of the judges

Sorry, no, she was a regular auditionee. Hannah was the only scouted one who made it to the house.

Stacey FTW now.

foxybrown - 25 Aug 2011 17:55:32 (#221 of 967)

I'm sure she was.

Oh well, if she was not she should have known better

ottoline07 - 25 Aug 2011 21:22:10 (#222 of 967)

I can't work out whether I'm behind or in front but I'm boggling slightly at the nips out male ballerinas.

ottoline07 - 25 Aug 2011 21:56:20 (#223 of 967)

Oh I'll miss Vince.

doctorsyntax - 25 Aug 2011 22:31:02 (#224 of 967)

Imogen is smuggling major peanuts in her ballet pic. I love the movement in the skirt though.

DejaLu - 26 Aug 2011 00:15:55 (#225 of 967)

Oh, the nips-out Ballet Boi was most disconcerting.

foxybrown - 30 Aug 2011 17:49:18 (#226 of 967)

Watching this week's now. Sharks? Come on now

foxybrown - 30 Aug 2011 17:53:52 (#227 of 967)

How would you do this if you can't swim? No way, that's the worst part of can't-swimming being under the water and deep too

foxybrown - 30 Aug 2011 18:09:03 (#228 of 967)

Multi post ment: Jess has a lovely personality

But boy does she need a retouch

Oh can it with the sob stories. What has that got to do with smizing. They are all trying to out cry each other

foxybrown - 30 Aug 2011 18:44:02 (#229 of 967)

The model's are reacting to Jordan's comments like she's vomiting shit but I think her comments are not inaccurate

Two out again. They really want to get this over and done with

sophster - 30 Aug 2011 20:37:50 (#230 of 967)

Still loving Jess. She is possibly the nicest reality TV people ever. Jade was amazing for getting in the tank even though she couldn't swim at all and not making a big deal about it.

doctorsyntax - 30 Aug 2011 20:56:26 (#231 of 967)

Damn, just saw a spoiler on Youtube, even though the actual episode doesn't appear to be up yet.

foxybrown - 30 Aug 2011 21:02:59 (#232 of 967)

There was a spoiler in next week's trailer

arborealprimate - 30 Aug 2011 23:49:05 (#233 of 967)

Massive spoiler. Quite a pleasing one, though.

DejaLu - 31 Aug 2011 16:27:59 (#234 of 967)

Jess is lovely. And the sharks challenge really was Too Much. Worse modelle-torture than even the giant cockroach challenge in ANTM.

And HUGE spoiler! Wonder if it's another passport ishoo.

Narnia - 31 Aug 2011 16:31:59 (#235 of 967)

If it is who I think it is I bloody well hope so.

foxybrown - 31 Aug 2011 16:44:11 (#236 of 967)

Well if you see next week's trailer, it's obvious who it is and I'm presuming it's a passport/ immigration thang

Re shark torture- is it really ok for Grace to say well of course you should know we wouldn't do anything dangerous to you? I think not.

And I'm still not buying the Jade can't swim thing, when I couldn't swim the worst thing was putting my head under water and not breathing, let alone going deep down under water.

KittyKarateRedux - 01 Sep 2011 00:43:06 (#237 of 967)

It does bug me that they pissed around for 3 weeks doing 'auditions' and now when it's down to them doing the photos they are throwing girls out 2 at a time.

Narnia - 01 Sep 2011 12:04:24 (#238 of 967)

We were watching a repeat of Monday's show at my mums last night and when Tanya came on my Mum said "ahh they've got a deaf girl in the competition this year", It took me at least 15 minutes before I could stop laughing long enough to explain that she wssn't deaf her accent was just terrible.

foxybrown - 01 Sep 2011 14:48:06 (#239 of 967)

I thought last year's winner was deaf for ages

DejaLu - 01 Sep 2011 16:25:40 (#240 of 967)

So did I.

Narnia - 01 Sep 2011 16:33:21 (#241 of 967)

It makes me feel bad though because I am from Birmingham. I would hate to think that my accent sounds anything like that.

doctorsyntax - 03 Sep 2011 13:55:05 (#242 of 967)

I'm bored with it now they've got rid of the only 2 edgy girls. I've started watching The Model Agents on Youtube, where the girls are much more modelesque, although the editing is truly truly terrible.

peally - 05 Sep 2011 12:58:28 (#243 of 967)

I saw who it was from the trailer as well.

I'm glad Tanya went, she just annoyed me a bit. I quite liked Anastacia (or whatever) practically laughing in her face after Juste slagged her off to Elle, for no real reason than I'm evil.

It seemed liked a hard task to me, I practised holding my breath and I can only do it for like 20 seconds and whilst blowing out my cheeks for some reason. I can't swim very well but I can swim a lot easier under water for some freaky reason.

schamachameleon - 05 Sep 2011 21:46:00 (#244 of 967)

All of these girls are incredibly pretty and lovely looking, but Jade and Jessica are absolutely gorgeous.

Jess in particular is stunningly beautiful.

schamachameleon - 05 Sep 2011 21:51:57 (#245 of 967)

I'm clearly blind as I cannot see anything wrong with Jade's editorial. She's stunning looking and looks so beautiful at the moment in her little peach dress and enviable rack.

"vile" was way out of order from Ms Orange lips.

Sorcha65 - 05 Sep 2011 21:52:49 (#246 of 967)

I love Jade and Jess. The rest are pretty forgettable.

schamachameleon - 05 Sep 2011 21:53:38 (#247 of 967)

Quite, Sorcha. Jade is as far from "vile" as David Cameron is from "competent".

schamachameleon - 05 Sep 2011 21:54:24 (#248 of 967)

I mean - "vile"?

Fuck right off.

schamachameleon - 05 Sep 2011 21:55:29 (#249 of 967)

I knew that was going to happen.

Now apologise to Jade, you orange monstrosity.

Sorcha65 - 05 Sep 2011 21:57:04 (#250 of 967)

Grace's giant orange Dalek kaftan is one of the oddest garments I've ever seen, outside West African churchwear.

schamachameleon - 05 Sep 2011 22:08:14 (#251 of 967)

I have no idea who she is, and haven't watched every episode of this so I barely know what's going on. But that orange nightmare was hideously rude.

Sorcha65 - 05 Sep 2011 22:10:39 (#252 of 967)

They're all rude, apparently on rotation (it was Julian's week to be warm and fluffy). Apart from Elle, who is always meant to be 'lovely'.

schamachameleon - 05 Sep 2011 22:16:42 (#253 of 967)

The male model seems like a right twat. Up himself OR WHAT!

Sorcha65 - 05 Sep 2011 22:17:13 (#254 of 967)

Oh yes. V smug and always extra-favourable towards the girl he'd most like to shag.

arborealprimate - 05 Sep 2011 22:17:40 (#255 of 967)

Jade is lovely and has lovely freckles. Jess is extraordinary. Incisive commentary from me tonight, clearly.

Juste is a very good model but not as interesting as the others in photographs.

Charlie seems to fancy Sophie Ellis-Bextor with her head in a vice (what is her name?) judging by his comments. She's a bit rubbish and is my top tip for departure next week if Evil Anastacia returns.

schamachameleon - 05 Sep 2011 22:19:48 (#256 of 967)

Is it Imogen, or the other one?

I like Sophie Ellis Bextor. I hope she would laugh callously in his face and walk over his groin in high heels.

Sorcha65 - 05 Sep 2011 22:20:24 (#257 of 967)

Imogen, that's the one Charlie fancied.

foxybrown - 05 Sep 2011 22:28:58 (#258 of 967)

That must be the only explanation for Imogen still being in, she is rubbish.

Grace's panel outfit looked like my mum's 70's bedspread. Now that was vile

ottoline07 - 06 Sep 2011 08:14:32 (#259 of 967)

I quite like Imogen, but I want Jade to win.

KittyKarateRedux - 06 Sep 2011 09:13:09 (#260 of 967)

You do get the feeling that they were treading water in Miami - if Anastasija managed to board a plane one of the other girls would be out on their ears.

wonder what Anastasija did to upset American pre-boarding screening?

foxybrown - 06 Sep 2011 09:20:21 (#261 of 967)

Heh we can only imagine, with her nasty attitude she probably told one of them not to question her

ottoline07 - 06 Sep 2011 10:58:25 (#262 of 967)

Oh is that what happened? I missed the first part of the programme.

doctorsyntax - 06 Sep 2011 13:03:39 (#263 of 967)

Maybe she's a secret Al-Qaida operative. That would liven things up a bit.

DejaLu - 06 Sep 2011 22:07:49 (#264 of 967)

Jade is gorgeous and I've no idea what was supposed to be wrong with her picture, but my money's still on Juste. She just looks like a Topp Modelle.

foxybrown - 06 Sep 2011 22:10:51 (#265 of 967)

I agree with all Deja said.

doctorsyntax - 06 Sep 2011 22:12:36 (#266 of 967)

Jade's pretty, but nothing special in my opinion. I teach plenty of girls that pretty. I agree that Juste is the most modelly.

sophster - 08 Sep 2011 20:55:46 (#267 of 967)

Only just caught up with it this week. I think Juste is much nicer and more relaxed this week after head Mean Girl got left at the airport. Each time I see the opening titles I can't believe Juste and her rubbish bleached hair got into the finals, she looks so gorgeous and modelly with the short dark crop. Still loving Jess and her positive attitude to everything.

Otherwise all a bit meh and why the fuck does Grace always wear such strange outfits. She looked like a dog had vomited all over her legs walking into the hotel and the 70s bedspread dress was very strange as well.

arborealprimate - 12 Sep 2011 22:42:53 (#268 of 967)

Juste's wearing the Primark dress I want and can't find on eBay. Rather better than I would, admittedly.

arborealprimate - 12 Sep 2011 22:56:47 (#269 of 967)

What a fucking travesty.

foxybrown - 12 Sep 2011 23:05:40 (#270 of 967)

Agreed Aboreal, I felt like crying with her

DejaLu - 13 Sep 2011 21:29:55 (#271 of 967)

Should I watch it, or will it just make me cross?

sophster - 14 Sep 2011 09:10:07 (#272 of 967)

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! WTF was that episode all about then? I thought they chose to ditch Anastasjia last week with her boring beauty shot. Then she returns and gets saved. Mad.

I hope Jess goes on to have a long and sucessful career staring in telenovelas instead.

KittyKarateRedux - 14 Sep 2011 09:16:14 (#273 of 967)

It was strange to see them in the cheerleaders outfits. Jess (who is referred to as heavy or larger) looked *right* in the outfit. Just shows how thin they want the girls to be, if someone who could pass for a cheerleader is viewed as on the large side.

This series of BINTM has been a disaster.

foxybrown - 14 Sep 2011 09:34:37 (#274 of 967)

Jessica was a very nice girl, not a model as they want toothpicks but her talent in languages and sunny disposition will take her far

I can't stand any of them who are left, maybe just maybe Jade

sophster - 14 Sep 2011 09:34:41 (#275 of 967)

I loved Cheerleader Jess, she really went for it with the big toothy smile and had the bonus of pissing off Jade and Imogen who were all a bit Mean Girls to her that episode.

foxybrown - 14 Sep 2011 09:42:48 (#276 of 967)

I knew she would win that task from the toothy grin

I don't know why Imogen is still there, she is dull and has no idea what she is doing

sophster - 14 Sep 2011 09:49:17 (#277 of 967)

Didn't like Imogen's wedding shot, it looked really plain. I felt sorry for Jess getting slagged off for doing Model 101 pose, as she was just posing how she was asked by the wedding woman and photographer I thought.

foxybrown - 14 Sep 2011 10:32:52 (#278 of 967)

And they said she had lots of shots, so isn't it the panel's poor choice of shot? I liked it myself. However there always seems to be better shots taken in the photoshoot

sophster - 14 Sep 2011 10:45:25 (#279 of 967)

That's what I always wonder about foxy. I think Tyra is pretty good in ANTM pointing out if they have loads of good shots or just got lucky. With BINTM, we have no idea. Next week is the Go-sees episode and which look really harsh so I was wondering if they got rid of Jess as she isn't likely to win the whole thing and saved her from being humiliated and ripped to bits for being a bit 'heavy and bigger'.

foxybrown - 14 Sep 2011 11:48:59 (#280 of 967)

On BINTM, the photographer will often say there is or isn't lots of good shots but this is never reflected in the panel's comments, whereas it is in ANTM, could it be that the BINTM don't know what the hell they are talking about? Hmm

I don't think they would care about Jessica getting ripped to shreds tbh.

peally - 14 Sep 2011 12:09:31 (#281 of 967)

What the fuck happened? I thought Anastajia had left?

foxybrown - 14 Sep 2011 12:11:37 (#282 of 967)

No she was just in a holding pen due to some immigration/passport/ terrorism glich

peally - 14 Sep 2011 12:38:35 (#283 of 967)

but I thought her photo was crap? but, but, but....was the point of last week?

sophster - 14 Sep 2011 12:51:17 (#284 of 967)

I have no idea and am really confused as well peally. I thought last week they looked at her meh beauty shot and eliminated her from the competition.

foxybrown - 14 Sep 2011 12:59:30 (#285 of 967)

That's true, where a contestant can't/ won't do a task they just either look at what else they had done that week or their portfolio

Junebug - 15 Sep 2011 09:26:43 (#286 of 967)

yeah, ANTM has started again. Series 17.

KittyKarateRedux - 15 Sep 2011 10:41:50 (#287 of 967)

Is cycle 17 the one that should have recalled Jade, so we could rebadge it America's Next Top Mentallist?

Junebug - 15 Sep 2011 11:00:00 (#288 of 967)

don't think so as first episode was last night in the US but I haven't watched it yet.

Junebug - 15 Sep 2011 19:16:12 (#289 of 967)

you're right! New series is the ALL STARS one (i.e. favourites from previous shows). Nice

foxybrown - 15 Sep 2011 20:41:09 (#290 of 967)

BINTM has to finish, like NOW

DejaLu - 15 Sep 2011 22:00:13 (#291 of 967)

Just caught up with BINTM. WHAT? THE? FUCK?

KittyKarateRedux - 16 Sep 2011 08:28:23 (#292 of 967)

I think referring to them as 'ALL STARS' is stretching the credibility a little. However, really looking forwards to that cycle starting over here...

Junebug - 16 Sep 2011 09:31:22 (#293 of 967)

Can't believe Jess is out and can somebody explain to me why the criticise the pics as 'not your best' when 1) the girls didn't choose the pic, 2) they just did what the photographer asked them to do

doctorsyntax - 16 Sep 2011 19:55:20 (#294 of 967)

ANTM All Stars is insane.

foxybrown - 16 Sep 2011 22:22:09 (#295 of 967)

I read there was a live bearbit, sorry, audience

doctorsyntax - 17 Sep 2011 09:38:37 (#296 of 967)

There was. One of the girls was shouted and sworn at by the audience, poor thing.

The fade-out shot at the end is a sight the tackiness of which I have not seen for many a year. My seven-year-old nephew can photoshop better than that.

Junebug - 17 Sep 2011 09:41:19 (#297 of 967)

I don't knwo why they hate her so. The All Star series promised a lot of great tv.

doctorsyntax - 17 Sep 2011 10:12:06 (#298 of 967)

No, me neither. She's not the biggest bitch they've had on there by any stretch. Just a touch controlling.

The one who got sent home was very, very shiny. Botox, quand tu nous tiens...

Allison FTW, clearly.

Junebug - 17 Sep 2011 10:21:16 (#299 of 967)

well some of them are 10 years older...

foxybrown - 17 Sep 2011 13:50:59 (#300 of 967)

Yes I looked at the line up on wiki and one is 33, what modelling career is she going to have?

DejaLu - 17 Sep 2011 15:49:32 (#301 of 967)

Where are you seeing this? Is it on Living yet?

doctorsyntax - 17 Sep 2011 16:15:03 (#302 of 967)

It's on Youchoob. Apparently they're not looking for a model as such, but more an all-round media star.

foxybrown - 17 Sep 2011 17:16:18 (#303 of 967)

I hate watching bits and pieces on you tube, I'm want it in teevee NOW

KittyKarateRedux - 17 Sep 2011 17:21:21 (#304 of 967)

Hunting down all the parts on youtube drives me batty! Unfortunately telly viewers have one more cycle to go before we get to ALL STARS!

foxybrown - 17 Sep 2011 17:24:03 (#305 of 967)

NO!!!! we are usually only one series behind

silks like I'm having a makeover

Junebug - 17 Sep 2011 17:46:05 (#306 of 967) is your friend Kitty and Foxy

Sorcha65 - 19 Sep 2011 21:24:26 (#307 of 967)

Blimey, the eastern European witches are behaving worse than ever. Three cheers for Jade winning the challenge.

Sorcha65 - 19 Sep 2011 21:24:39 (#308 of 967)

Blimey, the eastern European witches are behaving worse than ever. Three cheers for Jade winning the challenge.

Blimey, the eastern European witches are behaving worse than ever. Three cheers for Jade winning the challenge.

foxybrown - 19 Sep 2011 21:32:16 (#310 of 967)

Well said Sorcha x 3!

No the beeyatches exceeded themselves this week, they are so lucky it's not a public vote this year

foxybrown - 19 Sep 2011 21:37:23 (#311 of 967)

Julian looks like my mum in that top

arborealprimate - 19 Sep 2011 21:40:34 (#312 of 967)

Jade has to win!

Sorcha65 - 19 Sep 2011 21:44:10 (#313 of 967)

Jade looking stunning in the swimsuit shoot.

foxybrown - 19 Sep 2011 21:50:30 (#314 of 967)

Imogen and anaswhatsit to go

ottoline07 - 19 Sep 2011 21:55:45 (#315 of 967)

Oh I liked Imogen. Sometimes Jade's freckles look ridiculous. Other observations as they occur to me.

foxybrown - 19 Sep 2011 22:07:47 (#316 of 967)

I never liked Imogen tbh, she's very run of the mill.

Jade's freckles are ridiculous but that's what makes her memorable IMO

Sorcha65 - 19 Sep 2011 22:13:21 (#317 of 967)

Jade's freckles are fantastic and distinctive. Imogen had quite an interesting rhombus face, but always struck me as a bit dull.

foxybrown - 19 Sep 2011 22:19:03 (#318 of 967)

Arf@ Rhombus face

KittyKarateRedux - 20 Sep 2011 13:47:15 (#319 of 967)

I've kind of lost patience with this.

To summarize - while I like the two girls they've chosen, neither is sample size. One who may be able to change this (Jade - but please don't) and one who is too broad of bone (Juste) .

foxybrown - 20 Sep 2011 14:03:14 (#320 of 967)

What is sample size? 4? These girls esp Juste look slim enough to me

KittyKarateRedux - 20 Sep 2011 16:06:20 (#321 of 967)

It's not slimness, it's the proportion as well. Juste is certainly slim enough, but like Ann from ANTM she's quite broad, which means that her shoulders/hips might be a problem.

Hence Julian wittering on about her when he saw her in a bikini.

Actually - one thing that made me laugh last night, WTF was up with Anastajia's butt wiggling walk at the swimsuit casting? She looked like a toddler showing off.

foxybrown - 20 Sep 2011 17:02:41 (#322 of 967)

Yes I thought that about Anastajia too, where did that come from? the walk was too jiggly, I thought Grace would comment

ottoline07 - 26 Sep 2011 21:20:34 (#323 of 967)

I've just rescued this poor thing from Page2.

They both look very beautiful without make-up I think.

ottoline07 - 26 Sep 2011 21:21:37 (#324 of 967)

Jay possibly over-using the 'bitch' epithet.

Really Jade should win, but Juste is also very beautiful.

foxybrown - 26 Sep 2011 21:22:02 (#325 of 967)

Was just about to search for this

It's very boring so far but c'mon Jade

arborealprimate - 26 Sep 2011 21:22:53 (#326 of 967)

I rather thought that, but I think bitch has a different resonance in the States. Not necessarily enough to excuse it though.

foxybrown - 26 Sep 2011 21:23:45 (#327 of 967)

Otto that's what I came to post, that Miss Jay needed to cut done on the bitch talk

ottoline07 - 26 Sep 2011 21:24:02 (#328 of 967)

I know it's just supposed to mean sassy, feisty and other horrible words but it doesn't sit well in this show.

ottoline07 - 26 Sep 2011 21:24:48 (#329 of 967)

(I can't wait for this Steps show)

ottoline07 - 26 Sep 2011 21:27:17 (#330 of 967)

Noel Fielding and Chrissie Hynde!

ottoline07 - 26 Sep 2011 21:31:19 (#331 of 967)

Some of the audience are straight out of Dr Seuss.

schamachameleon - 26 Sep 2011 21:32:36 (#332 of 967)

God, these people are awful. Why do they think that looking like twats is cool?

Anyway, Jade to win. Juste looks more like a model, but she also looks like about 5 zillion other models. At least Jace is unusual.

ottoline07 - 26 Sep 2011 21:35:11 (#333 of 967)

The clothes ripping off is quite savage isn't it? I know they have to be quick but gosh.

ottoline07 - 26 Sep 2011 21:36:06 (#334 of 967)

I think Jade looks amazing on the catwalk.

schamachameleon - 26 Sep 2011 21:36:18 (#335 of 967)

wtf - why did they give them dogs? That's not fair. There is now a WOLF running through the audience.

Which, now I think of it, is a good thing. I hope it eats all of those twatty wankers in the audience.

foxybrown - 26 Sep 2011 21:37:04 (#336 of 967)

The other models are really struggling with the shoes

Jade needs to improve her posture she was a bit hunched

schamachameleon - 26 Sep 2011 21:37:16 (#337 of 967)

Jade is utterly gorgeous. Juste looks, as I said, like a proper model an' ting, but she's interchangeable with any other number of proper models.

Jade looks different and stands out. And she's stunning.

arborealprimate - 26 Sep 2011 21:37:54 (#338 of 967)

Jade is just lovely though. Juste is gorgeous, but there's something really breathtaking about Jade at moments.

ottoline07 - 26 Sep 2011 21:42:05 (#339 of 967)

Last week, when they were doing the beachwear shoot, and they showed Jade's shots, she looked different and lovely in each one. She's definitely value for money. Plus she seems really lovely. However, that might mean she ends up fucked over unless someone is looking out for her.

Let's hope she doesn't go anywhere near Annie at Premier.

ottoline07 - 26 Sep 2011 21:48:38 (#340 of 967)

they gave jade a vile swim-suit.

foxybrown - 26 Sep 2011 21:48:53 (#341 of 967)

Jade is the choice for something different but aren't her boobs too big?

ottoline07 - 26 Sep 2011 21:50:13 (#342 of 967)

Her boobs are perfect. Maybe not fashiony? Fashion can fuck off though.

foxybrown - 26 Sep 2011 21:51:11 (#343 of 967)

For a model I meant, for RL they are perfectly fine

ottoline07 - 26 Sep 2011 21:51:50 (#344 of 967)

I knew what you meant Foxy.

ottoline07 - 26 Sep 2011 21:52:29 (#345 of 967)

arborealprimate - 26 Sep 2011 21:52:37 (#346 of 967)

ottoline07 - 26 Sep 2011 21:53:51 (#347 of 967)

Juste will get loads of work anyway.

foxybrown - 26 Sep 2011 21:55:59 (#348 of 967)

Well done Jade but you should have hugged your mother first instead of left her hanging

Yeah I'm sure Anastajia will be there for you, you'll tear each other apart

Hmmm I wonder what will happen to her, the previous mix race winner appears to have done ok, well I've seen her in the guardian mag a couple of times

Sorcha65 - 26 Sep 2011 21:56:41 (#349 of 967)

Three cheers for Jade, she looked ravishing this week. Juste will do fine, though, you're right.

foxybrown - 26 Sep 2011 21:57:19 (#350 of 967)

I reckon they knew Juste will find work

foxybrown - 26 Sep 2011 21:58:01 (#351 of 967)

I want ALL STARS!!!

foxybrown - 27 Sep 2011 10:51:23 (#352 of 967)

Juste calls foul:

Sorcha65 - 27 Sep 2011 10:55:57 (#353 of 967)

Silly girl - not a clever move.

foxybrown - 27 Sep 2011 11:04:41 (#354 of 967)

Well it's not unexpected tbh

schamachameleon - 27 Sep 2011 15:17:34 (#355 of 967)

I didn't like the way they described her as a "commodity" when she won. That was horrible.

doctorsyntax - 27 Sep 2011 18:29:45 (#356 of 967)

All Stars is mad. Poor Kayla in the bottom two for not knowing how to eat a hotdog in a manner that embodied her brand.

foxybrown - 27 Sep 2011 18:32:35 (#357 of 967)

What? I want. I also can't remember Kayla

Jade, last night's winner, not the original mad Jade is in a Revlon ad today in my Grazia mag

DejaLu - 27 Sep 2011 18:34:47 (#358 of 967)

I was away last week and also missed last night's. Is it worth catching up, given that I already know who won?

DejaLu - 27 Sep 2011 18:35:19 (#359 of 967)

Was Kayla the one with the unnecessary dentistry?

Junebug - 27 Sep 2011 18:43:33 (#360 of 967)

all stars is absolutely car crash tv. Their 'brand' was atrocious. 'free'? 'girlfriend'.

And is it me or are they all not very model like, i.e. not very pretty and with very bad skin and make up?! They are suppose to be working models?

foxybrown - 27 Sep 2011 18:44:31 (#361 of 967)

I wouldn't say it was worth it Deja, nowt spectacular happened

Was Kayla the one with the snaggle tooth? Possibly

DejaLu - 27 Sep 2011 19:13:43 (#362 of 967)

Thanks, Foxy. Will wait for the next bonkers "cycle" of ANTM.

Have Googled. Kayla was the nice, quirky-looking lesbian girl from the last series. How quickly we forget!

Junebug - 27 Sep 2011 19:20:09 (#363 of 967)

Kayla is the lesbian.

doctorsyntax - 27 Sep 2011 19:28:27 (#364 of 967)

Joanie was the one with the snaggle-tooth. Kayla had fire-engine-red hair and was up against all-conquering Ann.

foxybrown - 27 Sep 2011 20:07:33 (#365 of 967)

Drsyntax your knowledge is impressive

doctorsyntax - 27 Sep 2011 21:46:17 (#366 of 967)

The really scary thing is I don't even have to look any of it up.

peally - 28 Sep 2011 10:46:50 (#367 of 967)

finally watched this, due to sick kids I am well behind on the telly watching.

Yay for Jade! Juste was gorgeous but that was it really.

I fancy Charley a bit, do I need help? If it helps whenever I get out now the roads are fully of yummy mummys and not yummy men. I think it's starting to affect my mind.

foxybrown - 28 Sep 2011 10:56:45 (#368 of 967)

Peally take two tablets and have a lie down, Charley mings! He's also full of himself, not as much as NFP Nigel but who would be

I hope the kids are feeling better

Sorcha65 - 28 Sep 2011 10:59:18 (#369 of 967)

Charley is smug and awful. He's all yours.

foxybrown - 28 Sep 2011 11:00:41 (#370 of 967)

Peally must be sleep deprived, it's the only possible explanation

Sorcha65 - 28 Sep 2011 11:02:22 (#371 of 967)

He's slightly less revolting than The Lovely Nigel (other token straightish man) but that's about all that can be said. Like Nigel, judgement is generally skewed by who he'd most like to shag.

peally - 28 Sep 2011 11:11:03 (#372 of 967)

heh, thanks foxy, I think we're through it, hoping to watch Glee tonight finally

Who is Nigel? I can go and perve on him instead

foxybrown - 28 Sep 2011 11:22:55 (#373 of 967)

Nigel is one of the judges on America's NTM, ex model now Noted Fashion Photographer, which is how Tyra always introduces him.

He is known to leer at his favourite models and gets very upset if they do not fawn sufficiently when he is photographing them

sophster - 28 Sep 2011 11:38:20 (#374 of 967)

BINTM all ended a bit meh! I think. They got rid of girls way too quickly with all the double elimnations and were then stuck with recalling evil Anastasjia in america after eliminating Lovely Jess.

foxybrown - 28 Sep 2011 11:55:23 (#375 of 967)

Jess would never have won she was too big, too dark.

peally - 28 Sep 2011 12:03:54 (#376 of 967)

oooo, I'll look out for him, he better be good now

Junebug - 28 Sep 2011 12:57:53 (#377 of 967)

charley is awful

DejaLu - 28 Sep 2011 13:28:20 (#378 of 967)

Charley is NFPNigel's Mini-Me.

foxybrown - 04 Oct 2011 21:17:13 (#379 of 967)

We do all know cycle 16 is on living now, don't we? It's seemingly been booted to Tuesday for Katie Price's nonsense

DejaLu - 04 Oct 2011 21:22:51 (#380 of 967)

No! I didn't know! Is tonight the first ep?

foxybrown - 04 Oct 2011 21:24:46 (#381 of 967)

Yep. I'm recording as I'm watching Mary Portas

DejaLu - 04 Oct 2011 21:27:24 (#382 of 967)

I'll watch on +1. Thank you for the alert!

foxybrown - 04 Oct 2011 22:13:42 (#383 of 967)

2 mins in. This is already batshit

Sorcha65 - 04 Oct 2011 22:16:00 (#384 of 967)

It is indeed batshit.

foxybrown - 04 Oct 2011 22:19:04 (#385 of 967)

It's bloody mean

So what about the ones who thought they were going through?

I see there's a freckle face girl, she's not as memorable as Jade though

None seem that great at this point

arborealprimate - 04 Oct 2011 22:20:53 (#386 of 967)

I want to know what happened to all the girls who pulled out photos - I can only assume the opposite.

foxybrown - 04 Oct 2011 22:37:47 (#387 of 967)

Bubble on water is up there with the all time stupid catwalks, like the one where they were on a thin sky high runway

And if Alexandria is so good, WTF is she doing on the show?

Sorcha65 - 04 Oct 2011 22:38:38 (#388 of 967)

She's a touch rat-faced IMO.

foxybrown - 04 Oct 2011 22:41:41 (#389 of 967)

A lot of these girls are very bony

Sorcha65 - 04 Oct 2011 22:41:52 (#390 of 967)

I plan to describe myself as 'fiercely real' rather than fat from now on.

foxybrown - 04 Oct 2011 22:48:27 (#391 of 967)

Is ALT wearing lederhosen?

foxybrown - 04 Oct 2011 22:55:33 (#392 of 967)

What an ugly crier.

I hope they are chucking these out three a week so we can get to ALL STARS

DejaLu - 09 Oct 2011 20:58:04 (#393 of 967)

Just caught up. I love "fiercely real".

What a horrible way to do things, though. Am looking forward to seeing androgynous Sara after makeover. Love little Jacklyn, the junior chipmunk.

doctorsyntax - 10 Oct 2011 09:11:34 (#394 of 967)

I think the ditched girls were being paid off, actually.

foxybrown - 10 Oct 2011 09:52:01 (#395 of 967)

Maybe the ditched girls were actresses

KittyKarateRedux - 11 Oct 2011 09:43:35 (#396 of 967)

Back from holidays and just caught up on my telly..

BNTM - I loved Jade, so I'm happy she won. However, they really need to decide whether this show is for amateurs or girls who aren't quite making it in modelling. Juste had modelled previously and so had an advantage over the other girls.

ANTM - Loved the first catwalk challenge. Soon they'll be doing them over the Total Wipeout course. Really thought the ditching of the girls who thought they'd won was really nasty.

foxybrown - 11 Oct 2011 23:05:35 (#397 of 967)

Loving the idea of total wipeout TM

And tonight: Killer bees!

DejaLu - 11 Oct 2011 23:21:12 (#398 of 967)

Alexandria needs a smack.

foxybrown - 11 Oct 2011 23:36:38 (#399 of 967)

With a Killer Bee.

doctorsyntax - 14 Oct 2011 08:02:25 (#400 of 967)

Big drama on All-Stars! Looks to me like the sick one last week OD'd.

How wet is the Crying Christian? (good nickname work there Bianca)

And what the hell happened to Toy-Toy's nose?

Junebug - 14 Oct 2011 08:20:29 (#401 of 967)

all stars is such car crash tv. I love it!! And it does show you the magic of make up (sorry but some of them look well rough)

DejaLu - 14 Oct 2011 15:17:58 (#402 of 967)

Where can I see this?!

foxybrown - 18 Oct 2011 22:08:51 (#403 of 967)

arborealprimate - 18 Oct 2011 22:13:43 (#404 of 967)

Fun times - I'm loving the one who had the manly cut. She's very ugly Winona.

foxybrown - 18 Oct 2011 22:17:04 (#405 of 967)

Wow Alexandria is a bitch.

That blonde weave is a fucking mess. I pity whoever has to take that out

foxybrown - 18 Oct 2011 22:22:09 (#406 of 967)

It's very weavetactic this cycle

arborealprimate - 18 Oct 2011 22:22:42 (#407 of 967)

Big porny hair is Tyra's vision.

foxybrown - 18 Oct 2011 22:24:36 (#408 of 967)

Big pony hair more like

The red weave looks good

foxybrown - 18 Oct 2011 22:38:42 (#409 of 967)

Surely Alexandria has to go. The Naomi Campbell attitude without the paycheck is ridiculous.

The short haired duck faced girl is a waste of space

KittyKarateRedux - 19 Oct 2011 09:19:29 (#410 of 967)

Short haired Smeagol will only get a good photo through luck.

Poor girl with the spiral perm/walnut whip head weave. But you know, made her give out evil in her photo, which worked out in the end.

Alexandria really is a nightmare. I'd have smothered her after night one. (reasons why I shouldn't go on Big Brother #1)

arborealprimate - 19 Oct 2011 09:21:33 (#411 of 967)

Alexandria is a great example of the delusional "they fear me because I'm so strong" strain of contestant. It's been a while since we had a good one (crazy Dominique, maybe?) so I'm enjoying it while thanking my lucky stars that I'll never have to meet her.

DejaLu - 19 Oct 2011 23:17:44 (#412 of 967)

Aaaargh! I've just accidentally spoilered myself with the winner.

I think Sara falls into the "not very pretty" rather than "striking" camp. And I'm massively enjoying Alexandria's loopy self-belief.

DejaLu - 25 Oct 2011 21:12:03 (#413 of 967)

Inspired Topp Modelle torture!

Junebug - 25 Oct 2011 21:14:20 (#414 of 967)

am I the only one watching All stars? I liked Alexandria.

foxybrown - 25 Oct 2011 21:25:35 (#415 of 967)

Am waiting for all stars on Living, currently watching cycle 16

Sara is very tiresome

Have they thrown contestants out of a plane yet?

Big laughing at Alexandria taking over the shoot. Top mentalism

doctorsyntax - 25 Oct 2011 21:44:05 (#416 of 967)

I'm watching All Stars. Is Alexandria out then? I usually catch up with it a day or two after it's been on.

DejaLu - 25 Oct 2011 21:44:57 (#417 of 967)

Sara claws back some marks for her excellent Tyra impression.

Junebug - 26 Oct 2011 08:57:43 (#418 of 967)

she isn't doctor. I really want the blond mad one to leave!!

KittyKarateRedux - 26 Oct 2011 09:12:21 (#419 of 967)

Poor Molly and her walnut whip weave - it still looked shocking at judging.

Alexandria's sexiness was very scary in the advert - MrKitty commented that she looked like "she'd snap it off".

Why do the feminist girls 1. apply for antm 2. complain that it is all about beauty and stereotypes?

foxybrown - 26 Oct 2011 09:51:17 (#420 of 967)

Sara was deluded in many ways

Why are they so insistant on Molly having a weave? It isn't working. She looked a Bad Daryl Hannah in Splash

doctorsyntax - 26 Oct 2011 09:59:19 (#421 of 967)

You mean Lisa who looks like a fifty-five-year-old alkie? Yeah, she's not great.

Allison FTW, obviously.

Junebug - 26 Oct 2011 23:23:22 (#422 of 967)

yep her doctor and spot on description. I want the country girl to win, the one who has all her clothe made by her grandma

doctorsyntax - 03 Nov 2011 16:44:09 (#423 of 967)

I think Honeyblood is an excellent name for a perfume. Very Viktor & Rolf.

Looking forward to catching last night's music videos.

Junebug - 03 Nov 2011 16:48:29 (#424 of 967)

me too dr I dislike the girl who did honeyblood. Apart from her strange appearance she seems very very vacant.

doctorsyntax - 03 Nov 2011 16:52:15 (#425 of 967)

I don't think she's vacant at all! I think she's far too sharp to offer up every passing emotion for reality TV fodder. Which makes me think that actually she may well not win, though she's by far the most modelesque, since Tyra wants someone more relatable (and biddable).

Junebug - 03 Nov 2011 17:02:50 (#426 of 967)

well then if you're right why did she agree to it!?

doctorsyntax - 03 Nov 2011 17:07:43 (#427 of 967)

A chance to win a big chunk of cash, at a guess.

Junebug - 03 Nov 2011 17:53:15 (#428 of 967)

can't have it both way then. Anyway, wonder who will be the next to leave....

doctorsyntax - 03 Nov 2011 18:01:43 (#429 of 967)

can't have it both way then

Why on earth not?* She's doing quite a good job of staying under the radar yet still has a pretty good chance of winning.

I think I know who the next to leave is, but I won't say.

*I hope I don't sound too argumentative. I'm not **that** emotionally involved.

Junebug - 03 Nov 2011 18:20:09 (#430 of 967)

but it is allstars and they are suppose to be a allrounder and be on tv so very much have too perform in front of the camera. If she is not prepared to play the game*

* was thinking the same about myself

don't tell me! Will watch tonight.

Junebug - 03 Nov 2011 21:40:53 (#431 of 967)

ok, just watched it, doctor. She is not vacant and has some depth actually but I really don't find her attractive. She just opens her eyes real big and that's it. Not sure I find any of them really attractive in a 'I wish I was her way'. Still fab tv!

doctorsyntax - 04 Nov 2011 07:09:59 (#432 of 967)

I don't think she's that attractive but then a lot of successful models aren't conventionally attractive.

Junebug - 04 Nov 2011 09:33:42 (#433 of 967)

true 'dat but her pictures are all samy and play on her eyes. Thus said I think it is between her, laura and lisa. The girl from the 'ood is harping too much about being from the 'ood and the other 3 look like miss usa circa 1980.

KittyKarateRedux - 09 Nov 2011 11:26:45 (#434 of 967)

Some great editing work on Monique last night. Lots of cuts to her eyerolling and pulling faces about people. She seemed like a right one, full on mean girl.

Alexandria had a terrible photo in the mud shoot - she looked deformed to me.

foxybrown - 09 Nov 2011 11:39:44 (#435 of 967)

The eyerolling was par excellence, you know she was told she was the prettiest girl in her 1500 strong town. She was was just so "up herself"

Alexandra does not have a very pretty face, well compared to the other blondes. She just looked out of place.

DejaLu - 09 Nov 2011 21:31:10 (#436 of 967)

Hold onto the handlebars of fierceness!

Sorcha65 - 09 Nov 2011 23:04:23 (#437 of 967)

Alexandria's a bit poundshop Chloe Sevigny (ie a bit ferrety).

DejaLu - 09 Nov 2011 23:45:32 (#438 of 967)

She has a monkey-face.

Junebug - 12 Nov 2011 19:44:28 (#439 of 967)

watching All stars and shouting at the screen to Shannon who is proud of herself because 'she took a stand' by refusing to pose in really normal underwear (that looked like swimwear). When asked why she refuses she gave this fumbled answer about being a married woman. WTF?! Get her out!!!

foxybrown - 12 Nov 2011 19:58:26 (#440 of 967)

Shannon was the one who refused to do the topless shot in cycle 1?

Junebug - 12 Nov 2011 20:07:17 (#441 of 967)

yep, foxy. Now she is ok to do swimwear (even the raunchy kind) but not underwear (because she is a married woman). Also she looks very 80s.

doctorsyntax - 12 Nov 2011 20:15:28 (#442 of 967)

I don't get why, in TyraWorld, Bianca standing up for what she believes in = bad but Shannon standing up for what she believes in = good. Best not to expect her to make sense though, eh?

KittyKarateRedux - 16 Nov 2011 20:29:34 (#443 of 967)

Top quality breakdown by Brittani over the breast cancer challenge win by Alexandria.

DejaLu - 16 Nov 2011 21:04:47 (#444 of 967)

Alexandria's dreadful, but I hate it when the girls gang up.

doctorsyntax - 16 Nov 2011 21:39:07 (#445 of 967)

Didn't they read her diary? that's pretty low behaviour, for sure.

KittyKarateRedux - 16 Nov 2011 21:46:54 (#446 of 967)

Alexandria is dreadful, but she doesn't realise it, so it makes me sad for her. She genuinely doesn't get why people dislike her, and seems to feel pain. Unlike some of the other 'mentals' like Jade and Angelea who didn't really care about people's opinions of them.

foxybrown - 16 Nov 2011 22:54:05 (#447 of 967)

She does have the Jade mentalism though, thinking she will be the supermodel of all time

Brittani made a prime arse of herself

doctorsyntax - 09 Dec 2011 09:29:14 (#448 of 967)

I gather season 17 finished with a splash of controversy this week. There are all sorts of conspiracy theories flying around on the fan sites.

foxybrown - 09 Dec 2011 09:37:51 (#449 of 967)

Yes do not read the sodding daily mail website today.

KittyKarateRedux - 21 Dec 2011 17:19:40 (#450 of 967)

All Stars season coming to Living TV on 7th Jan.

Watched the end of the current Living TV cycle. It was hard to get passionate about any of the girls once Alexandria left, but I think the right girl won.

Loved the face plant on the final runway.

Junebug - 21 Dec 2011 17:27:32 (#451 of 967)

watched all star and promise I won't mention the winner.

what are they going to invent for next series?

arborealprimate - 22 Dec 2011 00:41:50 (#452 of 967)

We also watched the finale and I think you're right that the right girl won.

foxybrown - 23 Dec 2011 20:52:16 (#453 of 967)

I finally watched the final. I too wasn't arsed who won, both were mean miserable children. As a tooth fascist, they should have done a Joanie on Brittani's mouth

foxybrown - 09 Jan 2012 21:10:09 (#454 of 967)

All bloody stars is going to be nuts. They haven't picked favourites, they've picked all the nutters and irritants

Bianca's been hitting the bleaching cream way too hard

But no Jade, which is a travesty

foxybrown - 09 Jan 2012 21:18:21 (#455 of 967)

Camille's forehead is bloody massive

arborealprimate - 09 Jan 2012 23:39:00 (#456 of 967)

I'm pleased to see Allison and Isis back, and indifferent to several of them, but I could do with a break from bloody Alexandria.

foxybrown - 10 Jan 2012 09:04:03 (#457 of 967)

I'm sure Alexandria was there because the great Jade dropped out at the last minute. I would have liked to see lesbian Kim or old Robin who was the fellow bible basher in cycle 1. Isis still looks like a hungry man as does Angelea, I could do without seeing them again

UnequalTwin - 10 Jan 2012 13:10:08 (#458 of 967)

You know the way they all go on about Tyra being the utter brilliantest thing in the world ever?

I'm not impressed with their judgement.

doctorsyntax - 10 Jan 2012 13:11:47 (#459 of 967)

Apparently Jade was invited to participate but declined because of the hugely unfair contract.

foxybrown - 10 Jan 2012 13:16:01 (#460 of 967)

Yeah I know Dr S but its just not All Stars without her

and as for the winner....

Sorcha65 - 10 Jan 2012 13:20:29 (#461 of 967)

Much as I loathe Alexandria (and find her amazingly plain in a rat-faced way), I'm sure she was only booed because she's the most recent baddy.

Three cheers for Allison becoming an art director.

foxybrown - 10 Jan 2012 13:38:40 (#462 of 967)

I really dont want to see Allison's freaky face again.

I felt sorry for Alexandria, I felt the winner of the last series was more of a baddie than her.

Junebug - 10 Jan 2012 18:07:33 (#463 of 967)

Is allison the one with the big eyes? I saw the series last year.

foxybrown - 10 Jan 2012 19:11:03 (#464 of 967)

Yes, the big googly eyes

Junebug - 10 Jan 2012 19:12:25 (#465 of 967)

ottoline07 - 10 Jan 2012 20:31:23 (#466 of 967)

Questions; where has Nigel's hair come from and why does everyone hate Alexandria so (i didn't watch cycle 16)?

DejaLu - 10 Jan 2012 20:36:10 (#467 of 967)

Do I need to watch this cycle? I was starting to feel a bit OVAH it by the end of the previous series.

Junebug - 10 Jan 2012 20:44:08 (#468 of 967)

I don't mind Alexandria.

Late on in the series, or late in the first episode do you mean?

KittyKarateRedux - 11 Jan 2012 08:37:20 (#476 of 967)

Well that was a weird opening episode..

- Had Brittany done too much Botox? Her face looked immobile

- what was with Sheena's jumpsuit? It looked like it was made up of cheap and nasty hippy lurex scarves.

- Underwear/Swimwear dilemma. Meh! Get over it lady.

- Once again I felt sorry for Alexandria, she isn't being a bitch to be a player, or to gain advantage, she's just socially awkward and doesn't see what she's doing could upset people.

-Camille's forehead has become a sixhead.

- Bre should stop dressing from the 'Lesbian plumber's mate' section in catalogue, it made her look dumpy, when she looked ok in the photos.

UnequalTwin - 11 Jan 2012 08:50:23 (#477 of 967)

Easily 3/4 of ANTM programme is unwatchable dross at the best of times. The only two interesting parts are where the photos are taken and the photos are judged.

However, this all "stars" series is even duller than usual. The three years mugging for the audience was excruciatingly boring.

Junebug - 11 Jan 2012 09:39:49 (#478 of 967)

agree hank it very much felt like a sad filler for the network.

DejaLu - 11 Jan 2012 11:09:22 (#479 of 967)

Right. That's it. Let me know if it all gets good again.

foxybrown - 16 Jan 2012 21:54:03 (#480 of 967)

Allstars is bloody rubbish. Makeovers nonexistant. The photoshoots are brainless, the contestants too old and uninteresting

KittyKarateRedux - 17 Jan 2012 08:18:59 (#481 of 967)

I did like Alexandra's cut, I think it really suited her. The rest of the makeovers weren't all that, though thank the lord they cut back Lisa's fright wig which was adding a decade to her.

The acting your brand thing was really shit, though I did enjoy how Bianca has interpreted 'Candid' as 'Mouthy bitch'.

foxybrown - 17 Jan 2012 09:00:35 (#482 of 967)

I always loved that Mouthy Bitch Camera

None of them except Lisa seemed to act out their word but I supposed her's was the easiest

The Nigel hair thing?

foxybrown - 06 Feb 2012 21:52:38 (#483 of 967)

I'm still watching, why I don't know. The gravy browning on the models for Michael Jackson is special

Bah. They should have sent both those crazy beeyatches home

KittyKarateRedux - 07 Feb 2012 09:03:23 (#484 of 967)

ALT looked ready to kill Lisa for offending his eyes with her Ena Sharples/Dame Edna style.

I like the way Tyra basically copied a photoshoot that had happened elsewhere, even down to getting the same photographer. Nice to be innovative...

Loving Laura

Still forgotten how to model Kayla

Hating Lisa, Angelea

not minding

the rest (surprisingly including Alexandria)

foxybrown - 07 Feb 2012 09:47:34 (#485 of 967)

Agree with your list although I'm not particularly loving anyone and I'd add Bianca the cowardly lion to the loathing list

foxybrown - 20 Feb 2012 21:22:16 (#486 of 967)

I'm sure Lisa's perfume would smell of piss and weed

KittyKarateRedux - 26 Feb 2012 17:29:42 (#487 of 967)

and meth labs.

KittyKarateRedux - 26 Feb 2012 17:30:10 (#488 of 967)

I thought 'Honey Blood' was a genius name for a perfume. Perfect for all the emo-gothettes out there.

LadyInGreen - 26 Feb 2012 22:06:00 (#489 of 967)

I keep seeing random episodes of All Stars and now am desperate to know what the twist is, but don't care enough to look it up on the internets.

I should probably get out more.

KittyKarateRedux - 28 Feb 2012 14:46:58 (#490 of 967)

Urgh. Pop videos. I'm not sure how that is relevant.

doctorsyntax - 28 Feb 2012 14:49:13 (#491 of 967)

Poor Allison, pouring her heart into her song only for Tyra to pop up with her "pot ledom" bollocks. If looks could kill...

(I too loved the name Honeyblood).

foxybrown - 28 Feb 2012 17:14:54 (#492 of 967)

Last night's was even more rubbish than usual

UnequalTwin - 29 Feb 2012 08:22:21 (#493 of 967)

And Tyra is the single most rubbish thing about it.

She's almost literally insane.

Junebug - 05 Mar 2012 14:51:44 (#494 of 967)

series 18 has started in the US and guess what it's the US v UK. 7 models from the US against 7 models from the UK. All the cliches are there including a poor scottish girl who gets subtitled every time she opens her mouth.

foxybrown - 05 Mar 2012 15:13:41 (#495 of 967)

I haven't seen this yet, but heard about it. Sounds dreadful. They are running out of ideas aren't they? its past models from the UK, is it past models from the US also?

KittyKarateRedux - 05 Mar 2012 15:32:40 (#496 of 967)

Newbies from the US apparently.

The scottish girl with the grey teeth is one of the people sent across.

Junebug - 05 Mar 2012 15:41:58 (#497 of 967)

it's one of the big complain of the US girls that the UK girls have been on Top Model before.

It has the potential to reach even deeper depths of awfulness. I will suffer for you all by watching it religiously. Am good like that.

foxybrown - 05 Mar 2012 16:07:45 (#498 of 967)

I'll watch but I am still in the middle of All Star hell at the moment. Where do you watch it, Junebug?

Scottish girl with grey teeth, what a description.

It reminds me of a contestant on Take Me Out two weeks ago; he was called Whyte, dressed all in white with bleached white blond hair but had the greyest, yellowest teeth. He did not get a date

Junebug - 05 Mar 2012 16:32:57 (#499 of 967)

eztv foxy

what is it with take me out ?!

DejaLu - 05 Mar 2012 16:34:19 (#500 of 967)

I don't get it either, June. I watched it once, to try to find out what the fuss was all about, and it just depressed me. And it's not because my standards are so exalted. I watch 90210, for God's sake!

Junebug - 05 Mar 2012 16:35:12 (#501 of 967)

I did find it sad and painful too and I watch Top Model!

foxybrown - 05 Mar 2012 16:48:38 (#502 of 967)

TMO is great: the desperation, the cheese, Paddy!

90210 has gone to the dawgs.

DejaLu - 05 Mar 2012 16:50:19 (#503 of 967)

I utterly heart Naomi Clarke.

foxybrown - 05 Mar 2012 16:50:57 (#504 of 967)

Bag of Bones!

Seriously she makes me feel queasy/

DejaLu - 05 Mar 2012 16:51:27 (#505 of 967)

Oh, she is absurdly thin. But I love her insouciance.

foxybrown - 05 Mar 2012 17:14:47 (#506 of 967)

Ohhh I see.

I still watch but its beginning to bore me

DejaLu - 05 Mar 2012 17:16:34 (#507 of 967)

The plots are loopy, I grant you. That whole business with Mr Hunky/his dead friend's wife/dead friend back from the grave was exceptionally pointless.

foxybrown - 05 Mar 2012 17:28:56 (#508 of 967)

oh yes, that story finished as soon as it started. Id forgotten all about it

foxybrown - 02 Apr 2012 21:38:28 (#509 of 967)

Beyond fucking bonkers

KittyKarateRedux - 03 Apr 2012 09:39:04 (#510 of 967)

Urgh. What a nightmare.

foxybrown - 03 Apr 2012 10:44:32 (#511 of 967)

That has to be the worst ANTM ever. As for the clumsy re edit at the end. Speechless.

UnequalTwin - 03 Apr 2012 12:06:45 (#512 of 967)

Modelland looks like the worst book ever.

Junebug - 03 Apr 2012 15:45:08 (#513 of 967)

Arf I guess you got the big 'upset' at the end.

The new one is dire too. They are trying to spark up a UK/US war but it's not really working.

foxybrown - 03 Apr 2012 15:54:38 (#514 of 967)

They appear to be flogging a dead horse.

Has ALT gone now?

FestinaLente - 03 Apr 2012 15:59:01 (#515 of 967)

I've seen the second & third installments of ANTM (the first was no longer available by the time I discovered it was even on!), and I must say, it sucks. The US girls are dreadful, the UK girls all have an attitude, and the new judge is horrifying. Which leaves only Tyra, a total madwoman.

But of course I'll watch it to the bitter end, so I can have a good laugh at their expense.

Junebug - 03 Apr 2012 16:45:34 (#516 of 967)

of course I will watch too festina.

foxybrown - 03 Apr 2012 16:48:29 (#517 of 967)

New Judge? No NFP Nigel?

FestinaLente - 03 Apr 2012 17:00:41 (#518 of 967)

Nigel is still with us. It's this one:

Her title is apparently "PR maven"

Junebug - 03 Apr 2012 17:01:56 (#519 of 967)

I have yet to understand what she does exactly.

FestinaLente - 03 Apr 2012 17:03:08 (#520 of 967)

Really. What, exactly, is a maven? Can I use that as my occupation on my tax paperwork?

foxybrown - 03 Apr 2012 17:03:25 (#521 of 967)

Never heard of her.

KittyKarateRedux - 03 Apr 2012 17:32:35 (#522 of 967)

Is a maven like a raven, except that they don't wear black all the time?

DejaLu - 03 Apr 2012 17:33:08 (#523 of 967)

A raven with a penchant for mauve.

FestinaLente - 03 Apr 2012 18:50:44 (#524 of 967)

except that they don't wear black all the time?

But this one does!

foxybrown - 09 Jul 2012 21:05:52 (#525 of 967)

New BNTM on now, have we all given up?

foxybrown - 09 Jul 2012 21:30:42 (#526 of 967)

Just me then but glad to see all the stereotypes being deployed: you're aggressive, intimidating and need to get rid of the chip on your shoulder and we aren't even 30 mins in.

The girls are terribly plain, the makeovers will have to be of biblical proportions

KittyKarateRedux - 10 Jul 2012 09:00:43 (#527 of 967)

Well, good things is they didn't have 3 weeks of pointless fucking auditions.

And Tyson is easier on the eye than bitter Charley Speed and pretty much anyone is easier on the eye or ear than Grace.

Did it seem like Tyson and Whitney interpreted mentoring as standing around an iPad and going 'naaah that's shit'?

Agreed that they are all pretty average looking, and some would have been laughed off the catwalk by Janice for being too fat (or not fat enough)

foxybrown - 10 Jul 2012 09:10:19 (#528 of 967)

Greetings, Kitty.

Yes I agree about unfortunately some would have been deemed fat by mad Janice, the Somalian(?) girl for example looked wide but possibly it was my tv.

I don't think Tyson will mince his words judging by the little I saw of Make Me A Supermodel.

The girl that left.....mentally challenged?

KittyKarateRedux - 17 Jul 2012 15:12:22 (#529 of 967)

I'm not sure why Elle is bothering doing eliminations, they seem to be leaving of their own accord.

Guilty laugh at the final selection when the girl who had been boasting didn't get picked.

Junebug - 17 Jul 2012 15:33:32 (#530 of 967)

watched the first episode. God they are so meh. As somebody said the transformation will have to be radical.

foxybrown - 18 Jul 2012 19:19:37 (#531 of 967)

Very boring episode, still I'm liking the judges so far, except Elle, who is not far off Tyra's ego

KittyKarateRedux - 24 Jul 2012 11:54:47 (#532 of 967)

Still very Blah isn't it?

Someone needs to go back to the editing suite - as Madeline the girl they cast as chippy know-it-all was shown to be fun and not at all the mardarse from the first few episodes.

Did find the near passing out due to clunge strangulation quite amusing.

Can't open her eyes girl still was failing to open her eyes on camera, it's a special skill and she can't be long for this competition.

Makeovers next week. Then perhaps I'll be able to tell them apart.

foxybrown - 24 Jul 2012 17:48:13 (#533 of 967)

Can't open her eyes girl has a big mouth so maybe there for some time

Madeleine has terrible skin, even the slap couldn't hide it which is not a good advert for Revlon

Btw was there enough product placement in yesterday's show? Maybe not just a few more bits scattered round next week

KittyKarateRedux - 31 Jul 2012 09:17:59 (#534 of 967)

So the usual collection of makeovers -

6 x girls get the same but better hair.

3 x girls get crazy crops (loved the really short pixie cut on the dark haired girl, less keen on the girl with dragon tattoo).

1 x epic weave (which I did like, it really softened Maddy's face and made her look less of a mardarse)

2 x square fringes

and 1 x Ronald Mcdonald. Julien. You BASTARD. A pretty girl goes into the hairdressers and comes out like Ronald Mcdonald.

foxybrown - 31 Jul 2012 09:42:59 (#535 of 967)

I couldn't be bothered to watch last night, i'll look out for a repeat seeing as its makeovers

Does Madeline's epic weave cover her terrible skin?

KittyKarateRedux - 31 Jul 2012 09:47:29 (#536 of 967)

Well, it's got a fringe so she has something to hide behind.

Narnia - 31 Jul 2012 17:11:24 (#537 of 967)

To me Madeline looks like she forgot to pu her teeth in. Fugly

foxybrown - 31 Jul 2012 17:35:47 (#538 of 967)

In the show for the drama

KittyKarateRedux - 31 Jul 2012 18:10:26 (#539 of 967)

Blinky is still squinty too. Also there for the drama.

foxybrown - 05 Aug 2012 12:38:25 (#540 of 967)

Watching now. My god the poor Ronald McDonald. That is just cruel

And they made Risikat look like a middle aged woman

The piercing girl looks quite good

Madeline just looks like Madeline in a wig

foxybrown - 05 Aug 2012 13:14:12 (#541 of 967)

The blond wag extension don't blend in with the girl's natural hair. One is just sitting on top of the other

Squinty is so boring

Junebug - 05 Aug 2012 18:36:01 (#542 of 967)

watching the make over episode and BINTM makes USNTM look like high art. Really that's the only girls they could find?! they have no personalities and really look nothing special. And Elle is so very annoyging. Still watching.

Junebug - 05 Aug 2012 18:43:05 (#543 of 967)

and MacDonald should be arrested for crimes against taste for what he did to the poor girls. Horrible.

foxybrown - 05 Aug 2012 19:14:36 (#544 of 967)

It was like a crime wasn't it, Ronald McDonald girl was seriously violated. Funny she seemed to style that mess better than the hairdressers

I don't mind the other judges so much but agree Elle is a right pain

KittyKarateRedux - 20 Aug 2012 21:31:31 (#545 of 967)

Blimey - saw more of Maddie in the walking challenge that I wanted!

Letitia - is she that naive or the ultimate game player? Marking down Roxanne at the walk off.. accidentally cutting down time on Hawk Nose Anne.

foxybrown - 21 Aug 2012 08:58:17 (#546 of 967)

Letitia might be a great actress, she's doing a sterling job of a wet blanket assassin

I didn't see Madeleine's wild bikini line but the arse hanging out the back of the outfit was not a pretty sight

Ronald McDonald's daughter looked as impressed with her mother's hair as everyone else

KittyKarateRedux - 21 Aug 2012 16:59:37 (#547 of 967)

Is anyone else watching Styled to Rock on living? It's a bit like Project Runway in that they have clothing design challenges, but they have Rhianna selecting the winner each week.

Only watched one episode so far and seems ok, apart from having Rhianna spout some drivel when she's defining the brief.

foxybrown - 21 Aug 2012 18:25:52 (#548 of 967)

I meant to watch last week, but didn't

I really miss Project Runway and wish they'd show it here, I spent a day watching a marathon of an all stars one on holiday last year

Junebug - 03 Sep 2012 19:40:44 (#549 of 967)

ANTM is back! and this year wait for edition! and the fourth judge is..... the public!

foxybrown - 03 Sep 2012 20:44:06 (#550 of 967)

It sounds like its gone the full Fonzie. Tyra's got rid of NFP Nigel, Mr and miss J and is shagging one of the new judges.

Junebug - 03 Sep 2012 21:19:41 (#551 of 967)

what she's shagging Kerry Cutrone?! Well I never!

it's Rob Evans isn't it

foxybrown - 03 Sep 2012 21:24:27 (#552 of 967)

foxybrown - 03 Sep 2012 21:41:31 (#553 of 967)

Madeline's hair is a mess. Someone get that weave out

KittyKarateRedux - 04 Sep 2012 10:29:59 (#554 of 967)

The lack of ongoing maintenance on their makeovers really bugs me. If you are going to make a girl look like Ronald McDonald, at least help her keep the hair a true shade of orange.

foxybrown - 04 Sep 2012 11:08:45 (#555 of 967)

Very true Kitty

I turned over to the Paralympics and missed who got the boot, do I care?

I'm liking Styled to Rock, it must be the Project Runway void

KittyKarateRedux - 04 Sep 2012 11:48:10 (#556 of 967)

Well, you no longer have to look at the weave any more, and her confidence is in no way dented...

Did you think Letitia looked REALLY odd in her broken doll makeup? I'm also loving that Blinky Anita is getting control of her face - I don't think she'll win but I think she'd be the one I'd like to go for beers with. Finding the blank Jane Seymour beauty of Emma a bit weird though, not sure whether she'll do well or not.

I'm getting into Styled to Rock also, there's a lot less Rhi-Rhi than I'd feared and I fast forward through Henry Holland.

Junebug - 04 Sep 2012 12:03:12 (#557 of 967)

must check out StR.

the new AMNTM is weird as now they give marks out of ten to the girls and the marks are added it. It makes the programme look like a 90th gameshow.

foxybrown - 04 Sep 2012 12:20:38 (#558 of 967)

Oh I see, Kitty. About time too. Dead horse flogging or what! But the photographer loved her, hmm might have to find a repeat and watch that missing 10 minutes

Tyra sounds like she needs to give up with ANTM, it sounds crappy. Did I even watch the last one? Im not sure.

Junebug - 04 Sep 2012 12:39:00 (#559 of 967)

the last one was dire and so so very boring. This one has got some small potential and no more cover girl !

foxybrown - 12 Sep 2012 16:32:44 (#560 of 967)

Watching now. Poor Roxanne, what has she done to those hair people, they hate her, although it looked better at the first photoshoot

And the Canadian Mounties really need to up their PR

foxybrown - 12 Sep 2012 16:45:23 (#561 of 967)

I wish they could shoot Anita out of a canon

Without a safety net

Btw there was a story on the DM website about a former ANTM contestant, Jael, who is addicted to crystal meth and ended up on Dr Phil. There were some very odd comments under the story supposedly written by Caridee, they read as if she was on the crystal meth herself

DejaLu - 12 Sep 2012 16:49:12 (#562 of 967)

Caridee was always a weird one. Can't remember Jael.

foxybrown - 12 Sep 2012 17:25:34 (#563 of 967)

She was one that was called in late and didn't last long, don't know what cycle. She seemed to be on something then to be honest

KittyKarateRedux - 12 Sep 2012 18:39:51 (#564 of 967)

Wasn't it Jael who acted the arse at some hollywood celebrity pool party? She was hassling some big name rapper and they pushed her into the pool.

foxybrown - 12 Sep 2012 19:50:47 (#565 of 967)

I remember the incident but not the girl involved, Kitty.

KittyKarateRedux - 12 Sep 2012 21:03:40 (#566 of 967)

And that is why I will never succeed in life, my brain is filled up with ANTM trivia.

Did you watch StR? Controversial win, I think the outfits should have been judged on what was supplied (or worst case add safety flip flops) and see how comfortable they felt.

foxybrown - 12 Sep 2012 21:08:57 (#567 of 967)

Not yet, I'm recording it later, hopefully will watch tomorrow

foxybrown - 14 Sep 2012 17:43:17 (#568 of 967)

I seem to have missed an episode of Styled to Rock, one with Cheryl Cole. Not that that's a bad thing. Watching this weeks now

foxybrown - 14 Sep 2012 18:01:28 (#569 of 967)

The bloody Saturdays. What do these people actually sing?

KittyKarateRedux - 19 Sep 2012 09:03:04 (#570 of 967)

Dances round massive spoilers for people who don't use Tuesday as their Trash Telly night

Was nice to see NFP Nigel on BINTM. Probably has lots of spare time now Tyra has set him free. Was a little surprised at who got let go, I thought it would have been Titty Assasin or Jane Seymour Beautiful.

Also StR - Thought it was a tough ask to design for Ana Matronic, Jake would be dead simple. Chaps? Check. Chest out ? Check. Ana? hmmmm

I wished the other one in the bottom two had been let go. Not because they were the worse designer, but because the way they speak did my nut. Also a bit of a sucky attitude.

Was one of the girls on the final catwalk Jade from last year Bintm?

foxybrown - 19 Sep 2012 09:37:58 (#571 of 967)

I seem to watch STR on a different night to you Kitty, mind you it's on fifty times for the week, but how I managed to miss the Cherl Kurl one I don't know

The evictee on BINTM should have gone ages ago, despite her thinking she was hot stuff, she was very ordinary with the same lads mag poses week after week. She may have a future in those mags as might the one who sounds like a fish wife

To me there are two Jayne Seymour types, the one that's always crying or the other one?

KittyKarateRedux - 19 Sep 2012 10:00:08 (#572 of 967)

My nicknames for the girls

Blinky = Anita

Titty Assasin = Letitia - This is probably the cryer as she doesn't take criticism.

Jane Seymour Beauty = Emma

I don't have a nickname for Lisa.

Post by deleted user
foxybrown - 19 Sep 2012 11:09:54 (#574 of 967)

Yes Letitia is the cryer, she'll do really well in an industry where you are critiqued every day. I'll have to pay more attention as I've not noticed the Tom Hardy resemblance

The Jayne Seymour a like, is pretty but so unmemorable that I always forget shes there, I didn't even know her name is Emma. So the winner then?

KittyKarateRedux - 19 Sep 2012 12:04:06 (#575 of 967)

I don't get Tom Hardy from Letitia, it's more like if Angelina Jolie was crossed with the Joker.

I'm not sure about the winner. I think it might be Lisa, but she seems to have gone into a pouty loop on recent photoshoots.

foxybrown - 19 Sep 2012 12:10:57 (#576 of 967)

Yes she's another mono expression one

Post by deleted user
KittyKarateRedux - 19 Sep 2012 16:17:35 (#578 of 967)

But you love the blinky eyed, Cleopatra-like siren.

I think she may be let down by her body of work, though she has picked it up a lot recently.

foxybrown - 23 Sep 2012 13:02:38 (#579 of 967)

Watching STR now, jeez the Boombox thing was embarrassing. It was no Blitz club

foxybrown - 24 Sep 2012 21:17:46 (#580 of 967)

Wannabe models know nothing about fashion, never heard of Valentino, Karl Lagerfeld or Michael Kors.... Or Quentin Tarantino for that matter

KittyKarateRedux - 02 Oct 2012 21:12:24 (#581 of 967)

Can I talk about the final yet? Apparently the Daily Mail has the result on the side bar of shame.

foxybrown - 02 Oct 2012 21:58:02 (#582 of 967)

I say yes, I watched it yesterday it has to be the worst final ever. Two similar boring girls, still Blinky didn't win which was a bonus

The tv powers that be need to dump this and show Project Runway instead

KittyKarateRedux - 03 Oct 2012 08:41:43 (#583 of 967)

My problem was that while the TittyAssasin had a stunning face in the photos, I wasn't convinced by her body. However, as someone said on the old FU messageboard she'd look stunning advertising normal clothes (I'd probably buy stuff in Boden if she was wearing them)

Emma couldn't win because she was just not memorable really, she'll work fine as a model after this, but I probably wouldn't recognise her if she showed up in the background on StR.

KittyKarateRedux - 03 Oct 2012 08:43:12 (#584 of 967)

Oh god yes. Bring back Project Runway/Catwalk. Henry Holland is no Tim Gunn.

New ANTM starts in a couple of weeks. *snore*

foxybrown - 03 Oct 2012 11:21:37 (#585 of 967)

Yes snore indeed and it has some *twist*

Titty assassin had mahoosive norks, Julian was right about her not fitting in samples, I see her doing Nuts/FHM modelling, men will love that gormless look. Emma was very pretty but not memorable, if that girl with the terrible grey twisted teeth from a couple of years ago can get signed then she should have no problems

foxybrown - 03 Oct 2012 11:24:11 (#586 of 967)

The thing is PR is still on in US, they've had at least two All Stars series. I hate the way Sky shows a couple of series of things and then drops it, shame they can't to that to ANTM

Top model revisited on now

KittyKarateRedux - 09 Oct 2012 08:38:25 (#589 of 967)

The sad thing is I could barely remember any of the winners.

foxybrown - 09 Oct 2012 10:48:20 (#590 of 967)

I remembered most of them, except the first one when i say them.

I noticed joyless Joy still hadn't fixed her teeth, Ì bet she doesn't get booked for toothpaste ads

foxybrown - 15 Oct 2012 21:11:44 (#591 of 967)

God this is stupid

I did wonder what happened to Alisha on the catch up show last week. I liked her even though she did remind me of Richard Blackwood

foxybrown - 15 Oct 2012 21:31:54 (#592 of 967)

Jeez, it's getting worse

I won't make it all the way through this series surely

KittyKarateRedux - 16 Oct 2012 08:40:11 (#593 of 967)

What a shit concept.

foxybrown - 18 Oct 2012 21:21:53 (#594 of 967)

Very shit Kitty

In contrast I liked Styled to Rock, the winning outfit looked mostly great, I thought the winner deserved it. Unfortunately I read the programme had very low ratings so won't be returning so we are left with Tyra's shite for the foreseeable; the new cycle has men in it

KittyKarateRedux - 19 Oct 2012 13:52:52 (#595 of 967)

The trouble with Styled to Rock is that it was so badly marketed. If they'd said 'It's like Project Runway with limited amount of Rhianna' I'd have committed to watching it earlier. As it was, I only watched it on SkyAnytime because I was working from home and I'd already seen the episode of Murder She Wrote.

foxybrown - 29 Oct 2012 21:53:33 (#596 of 967)

If she was on the street, I swear I'd knock her ahhht! - best part of this crap so far

The greasy haired judge is rude, the model was right to call her out.

KittyKarateRedux - 30 Oct 2012 10:05:57 (#597 of 967)

Yes, Fashion Raven Cutrone is a mardy cah!

Though it is a shame that Team Britain has lost one of their strongest models.

foxybrown - 30 Oct 2012 10:38:49 (#598 of 967)

I'm not even watching properly, I forgot about it last week and only looked up this week when the panel started. It's cringey stuff, the Brits are terrible models seeing as they were in it before and can Alisha stop going on about being from the ghetto, is Clapham a ghetto? I know it's south London but still

KittyKarateRedux - 30 Oct 2012 10:45:52 (#599 of 967)

I thought everything south of Watford was ghetto?

I'm just about watching, the problem is that the girls in this were average at best in their cycle, and some of them went back to their day jobs, so it's not like they've been practicing their model magic. I really like Ashley as a person, but she isn't a model, she still doesn't understand her body, and while her face can give great emotion, it is difficult for her to get a 'character'

foxybrown - 30 Oct 2012 10:49:52 (#600 of 967)

Yeah it's all ruff and tuff dahn ere. She's getting on my wick

Wasn't Ashley doing glamma modulling? Or was that someone else in the catch up

Plus did I miss the makeovers? They all looked terrible

KittyKarateRedux - 29 Dec 2012 11:00:32 (#601 of 967)

Blah blah blah. I've definitely lost the love for ANTM. In fact, I can't even remember who won the season.

KittyKarateRedux - 29 Dec 2012 11:05:55 (#602 of 967)

Adrienne Curry was on The Soup as the Horseman of Over Exposure (as part of their 4 horsemen of the apocalypse thing). She was naked.

Still looking good, but god is she mental.

foxybrown - 29 Dec 2012 15:09:46 (#603 of 967)

I didn't even watch the UK USA one to the end, it was dire.

KittyKarateRedux - 29 Dec 2012 15:12:08 (#604 of 967)

To be honest, the UK v USA one did pick up towards the end, but it was starting from such a low point it wasn't hard.

foxybrown - 29 Dec 2012 18:12:47 (#605 of 967)

I read who won and I didn't like her from when she was in the UK one so it didn't take much for me to forget it was on. Who came second?

KittyKarateRedux - 31 Dec 2012 09:13:00 (#606 of 967)

Zagalicious Laura the american. Honestly, I thought Laura would have won it, I never really got the Sophie love.

KittyKarateRedux - 31 Dec 2012 09:15:43 (#607 of 967)

The weird thing is that they haven't actually shown the final yet over here - it's not on until 7 Jan. I thought I'd missed it so watched it on youtube so my impression of the final is a bit pixelly.

foxybrown - 31 Dec 2012 13:48:46 (#608 of 967)

I only realised that last night Kitty, I thought it had finished too. It was on yesterday and 4 people were left in, I didn't bother to watch

KittyKarateRedux - 23 Jan 2013 11:00:28 (#609 of 967)

My favourite part of the final was 'Gambs' Alisha saying that she'd have won if she'd stayed on because of her runway prowess, and then failing to keep in sync with the crazy runway lighting.

Anyhoo, I can't explain why the format has stopped working for me, but it clearly has. The lack of 'real' modelling input I think has been the death of it. Twiggy may have been a wet blanket, but her advice was useful. Porlina dared to argue with Tyra. Janice, well, Janice was Janice, dispensing good advice and cray in equal measures. Kelly Cutrone? Talking about the PR value, emphasising that the competition isn't really about modelling? I think that really has been the death of it. When you could *almost* squint and believe it wasn't a publicity machine reality show, then it was interesting.

foxybrown - 23 Jan 2013 16:08:02 (#610 of 967)

Yes its dead for me too, I only watch a couple of this series (cycle - pah!), it was even worse than the all stars one which was awful.

The next one has men in it I believe, has that been shown in the US already?

KittyKarateRedux - 23 Jan 2013 16:14:04 (#611 of 967)

I'm not sure - I think cycle 19 is all girls, but maybe with an interactive element and no Jays or NFP Nigel. That finished in November, but I don't download tv so I'm blissfully unaware of it at the minute.

Cycle 20 is the co-ed one according to google.

foxybrown - 23 Jan 2013 16:18:28 (#612 of 967)

Interactive element? Sigh

I thought Tyra had been phoning it in for years

KittyKarateRedux - 23 Jan 2013 16:23:52 (#613 of 967)

Well you know, voting models in or out really worked well on that other model programme Make Me A Supermodel. Oh no, got that wrong, it sucked so much they got rid of it for the 2nd season.

And Arf at the phoning it in comment. I smirked.

foxybrown - 23 Jan 2013 16:41:39 (#614 of 967)

I hope you smized too

KittyKarateRedux - 20 Jun 2013 18:49:09 (#615 of 967)

BINTM starts again tonight 8pm Living. Hopefully this series won't feature 7 weeks of crap auditions.

KittyKarateRedux - 02 Jul 2013 08:56:11 (#616 of 967)

Is it only me who is watching this series? It seems to have improved - they didn't do multiple weeks of crap auditions, we just went to the 22 down to 14 in the house week. I can imagine Elle was cheered by this change as she no longer had schlep her way to Birmingham to sit in a conference centre to do the auditions, it could all be handled by minions. Tyson is still a bit Joey/sex pest but in a charming way. Dannii is handling walking with giants pretty well.

We've just had makeover week - no-one really got anything hideous, there were 2 hair cut refusers and in contrast to Tyra-land they were not shown to be browbeaten or excluded. The usual things occurred, girl who says at early interviews that they can do anything to her was in tears when her already short hair was cut.

Hmm.. wonder which magic word combo I hit in that one.

foxybrown - 30 Jul 2013 12:54:09 (#618 of 967)

Been away Kitty, where I saw a bit of the college one. Awful

KittyKarateRedux - 16 Aug 2013 12:11:44 (#619 of 967)

No huge spoilers below.

This is the first photoshoot where I thought the farm girl redhead looked great. Was slightly surprised about who went, as the other bottom two girl has 99 frames of yikes to 1 great one. On the other hand, eliminated girl had done some accidental good photos, but didn't manage the magic on the day, looking a bit twisted faced.

foxybrown - 17 Aug 2013 00:03:27 (#620 of 967)

Is this the Briish one? Ive only seen 1 ep. Is it any good

KittyKarateRedux - 18 Aug 2013 15:26:26 (#621 of 967)

BINTM seems to have reverted to a 'traditional' style show, pretty girls are photographed and judged. The seem to have a new team doing the editing and scripting as it seems to flow better. I enjoy it as I prefer the less gimmicky approach. At no point has anyone had to include potledom in any lyrics.

foxybrown - 18 Aug 2013 16:31:05 (#622 of 967)

Fashion Star starts tonight on TLC. Elle McPherson presents, Nicole Richie and Jessica Simpson are judges

foxybrown - 18 Aug 2013 18:25:43 (#623 of 967)

So far, so tacky

I'm in

DejaLu - 18 Aug 2013 18:29:24 (#624 of 967)

Hmm. Maybe it's time for BINTM to work its smizeing magic and win me back.

foxybrown - 18 Aug 2013 19:39:39 (#625 of 967)

Fashion Star is loopy, much less fun than the Rihanna thing. The judges take it all so seriously

Why not show Project Runway which is a thousand times better

KittyKarateRedux - 18 Sep 2013 14:51:20 (#626 of 967)

I agree - Project Runway needs to come back, I really used to enjoy it.

New trash TV - 'The Face' starts on Living TV on 30th Sept.

foxybrown - 18 Sep 2013 21:03:33 (#627 of 967)

On holiday this summer, I watched a bit of PR, they had lots of marathons days , there were a couple of all star series

The Face: Ms Campbell beating up people, hosted by NFP Nigel

DejaLu - 02 Oct 2013 22:40:52 (#628 of 967)

Anyone watching "The Face"? I caught up with episode 1 tonight. Shaping up nicely, but no sign yet of NFP Nigel.

KittyKarateRedux - 03 Oct 2013 08:29:02 (#629 of 967)

Perhaps NFP Nigel was only on the US version. They seem to have done multiple nationalities at once, maybe to reduce the Naomi wrangling.

foxybrown - 03 Oct 2013 19:43:21 (#630 of 967)

Saw a bit but couldnt really be bothered with it. The woman's walk they all cracked up at was very funny

DejaLu - 03 Oct 2013 20:31:34 (#631 of 967)

They were SO RUDE! That poor girl.

foxybrown - 03 Oct 2013 20:54:52 (#632 of 967)

The walk was bad though, like Miss Jay's worst example of what not to do

DejaLu - 03 Oct 2013 21:23:36 (#633 of 967)

It was a bad walk. I was glad to see LOVELY ERIN wasn't laughing, though.

KittyKarateRedux - 11 Oct 2013 08:30:42 (#634 of 967)

Anyone watched Face episode 2 yet?

The game playing by Naomi was hilarious, especially with the result. Scandi Model totally pwned her.

foxybrown - 11 Oct 2013 20:00:29 (#635 of 967)

Can't be arsed. I'm got so much other stuff sky+ed, I can't keep up. I've abandoned Fashion Star, that was shit

KittyKarateRedux - 05 Nov 2013 12:21:47 (#636 of 967)

Fashion Star was all kinds of shit. Can't believe it got a 2nd season.

Still really enjoying The Face. 'Real' challenges, proper mentoring. You could tell no-one ever saw Tyra outside of judging because of their knicker wetting excitement when she deigned to show up for a pyjama party. Obviously Naomi is all kinds of mental, but I do enjoy her reactions to the other judges.

foxybrown - 05 Nov 2013 13:58:51 (#637 of 967)

Fashion Star was indeed a sack of doodah, I can't believe TLC would show that rather than my beloved Project Runway, maybe Lifetime will show it, I have a feeling it's on Lifetime in the States

I never got into The Face, I watched it once but was too distracted by Naomi's weave to concentrate

I didn't even realise ANTM was on, it's the third episode of the college series. I'll watch tonight as the description says it's makeover week.

So far, so ratchet. People screaming I'm a real birch at each other

On edit: I'll leave the typo

foxybrown - 13 Mar 2014 20:27:26 (#643 of 967)

Oh Blimey they've had the makeovers already, I hadn't noticed. They all look a mess, has the budget being slashed?

KittyKarateRedux - 13 Mar 2014 21:49:00 (#644 of 967)

Dang. I didn't notice it restarting either

foxybrown - 14 Mar 2014 09:36:14 (#645 of 967)

It was terrible kittyk, Thursday at 8 with no fanfare is a sign of its imminent demise I think

KittyKarateRedux - 14 Mar 2014 09:40:25 (#646 of 967)

I've tagged it on my Sky for next week, so I'll join you in watching the slow motion car crash.

I wonder if they've decided that The Face UK/US can meet all of their model needs? They have cancelled BINTM.

foxybrown - 14 Mar 2014 09:46:55 (#647 of 967)

I can't promise I'll watch again tbh, I even switched over to Hair on BBC3 for a bit and forgot to turn back. It's not the one with the male contestants, so there's at least one more series, sorry, cycle. I wonder if Living will show it?

I didn't know BINTM had been cancelled. Did I watch the last one? Was that when that gormless looking girl that none of the others liked won or was there one after that?

KittyKarateRedux - 14 Mar 2014 11:17:17 (#648 of 967)

You really aren't narrowing it down to be honest on the 'gormless girl no-one liked'

KittyKarateRedux - 14 Mar 2014 11:21:25 (#649 of 967)

Last season BINTM had a former Miss Ireland who was very pretty who was at loggerheards with a red headed Irish farm girl who whilst playing the innocent card probably gelded rams with her teeth. The winner was a really atheltic looking girl who was permanently picked up for having big hands.

foxybrown - 14 Mar 2014 20:40:01 (#650 of 967)

I can't actually remember who won ANTM college edition. This is a bad sign for Ken Mok's bank balance.

foxybrown - 08 Jun 2014 20:24:24 (#654 of 967)

I happened upon the very last bit of the final, it was a blonde girl, she beat a mixed race girl with a long face and another girl who couldn't walk in the shoes, which was surprising since she'd been in the competition for at least ten weeks

KittyKarateRedux - 08 Jul 2014 19:19:20 (#655 of 967)

Man/woman top model has started on living. The blokes are really odd, some seem to be a roll of gaffa tape short of a serial killer kit.

Tyra's wigs are awful so far this cycle. Has she sacked her wigologist too?

KittyKarateRedux - 30 Jul 2014 09:14:28 (#667 of 967)

What was with the makeovers? Especially the Caveman/Jesus look?

Poor Chlea - she was visibly recoiling from contact with Marvin
as if he was prodding her with his cock ness monster.

foxybrown - 30 Jul 2014 20:19:42 (#668 of 967)

Chela Was odd but she did give Kelly Cutrone (?)a piece of her mind

KittyKarateRedux - 20 Oct 2014 13:21:20 (#669 of 967)

Well that was another season done. Was unsurprised by who won given who was left, but I just didn't get any wow factor from any of the photos this season really. There were far too many gimmicks

1) Social media. Blah. It's still in place for the season 21 so it seems here to stay.

2) Living pictures. Why have all that animated shit going on?

Looking forwards to The Face USA, mainly because watching Naomi is a joy.

foxybrown - 20 Oct 2014 21:48:16 (#670 of 967)

Is that the one with the men that's just finished on Living or am I one series behind?

foxybrown - 30 Oct 2014 21:04:31 (#671 of 967)

I just watched The Face all the way through for the first time, I quite enjoyed it. Naomi doesn't really need the two other judges though.

KittyKarateRedux - 31 Oct 2014 08:21:09 (#672 of 967)

The other judges are just there to poke Naomi with sticks to make sure she performs.

foxybrown - 07 Nov 2014 17:56:07 (#673 of 967)

FACE US is pretty good fun. The only thing that bothers me is the obvious over dubbing when NFP is describing the tasks/prizes.

It's a shame if FACE UK is being cancelled.. I loved Erin as a mentor, I just wanted to be on team erin. It's a shame that BNTM is gone too - does that mean that we're all too mature for bitchiness?

I've started watching House of DvF on E! channel - Diane von Furstenburg is seeking a girl to be an international brand ambassador (e.g. she's sick of flying to god awful places).

foxybrown - 11 Dec 2014 22:43:35 (#682 of 967)

I'm still watching The Face, it's good crazy

And I remember that All Star cycle ended oddly and this seems to be the reason:

Who even knew that America’s Next Top Model was still with us on the air? The last time I watched Eva was the diva, Tocarra was still chubby and Yaya was telling any and everybody who would listen that she was a Brown University graduate, and smarter than your average model. Nevertheless, a former ANTM contestant is suing Tyra Banks for $3 million dollars for breach of contract. Angelea Preston appeared on Season 14 and 17 of America’s Next Top Model and claims that was denied the grand prize in season 17 because of her background as an escort. Angelea auditioned for season 12, made the semifinals, but didn’t make the house. The Buffalo, New York native auditioned again for season 14 and placed fourth in the overall competition, so naturally she was a shoo-in to be a contestant for season 17, which was the “all-star” season. Angelea claims that she was denied the grand prize of $100,000 and a contract with Cover Girl cosmetics because of her past in escorting. Angela claims that the producers and Tyra Banks -who is executive producer of the show, knew that she used to be an escort before casting her. According to the court documents, there was an unaired scene from season 17 where Angelea thanked Tyra for changing her life, specifically things she has done in the past that she wasn’t proud of. When Tyra asked her about those things Angelea replied “Things I’m not proud of to get money.” Once her past as an escort was exposed, they disqualified Angelea, recorded a new finale and named Lisa D’Amato the winner. The CW has released a statement to TheWrap regarding the lawsuit. “As noted during the broadcast of the ‘America’s Next Top Model’ finale in 2011, information about Angelea was learned after production wrapped on that cycle that led to her disqualification from the competition,” the statement continued “We are confident that her lawsuit has no merit.”

Because Angelea wasn’t allowed to be on top, she’s suing Tyra and the CW for breach of contract, and intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress. I see Angelea is doing what she has to do, not to go back to the Langfield projects. Get money, I guess…

DejaLu - 12 Dec 2014 07:20:14 (#683 of 967)

Gosh! Though Angelea never seemed that - ahem - modelesque.

KittyKarateRedux - 12 Dec 2014 10:05:01 (#685 of 967)

The finale to all-stars was very weird. I can remember there was some shenanigans, but at the time it was implied that they had re-shot the finale because Angelea had leaked the result on social media.

I really wanted Alison to win.

I've seen Yaya Dacosta in a couple of things, she was in the film about the White House butler. Seems to be doing all right for herself.

Foxy I can't bring myself to open a Daily Mail link, who is the model-turned-lag please?

FestinaLente - 13 Feb 2015 13:03:43 (#696 of 967)

Weren't the other contestants really horrible to him on his season?

Downright nasty. Until he got put on a team challenge with Mondo, and Mondo was pleasantly surprised to find that Michael really WAS a good designer and knew what he was doing. They were a lot nicer after that - Mondo's opinion carried a lot of weight.

That was the season Gretchen won. <spit> Gawd, she was awful.

foxybrown - 13 Feb 2015 16:29:16 (#697 of 967)

Renee Alway appeared in 2007, TenG

I've not a Scooby

foxybrown - 13 Feb 2015 16:34:03 (#698 of 967)

Gretchen was truly awful.

I really miss Project Runway, even Project Catwalk was good. Hell I'd take that batshit Rihanna programme at this point

FestinaLente - 13 Feb 2015 16:36:22 (#699 of 967)

I know what you mean - I watched all of Canada's Project Runway, then all of Australia's Project Runway, and it still wasn't enough!

foxybrown - 13 Feb 2015 16:46:20 (#700 of 967)

When I go on holiday to my mum's in the West Indies, they usually have all day PR marathons on one of the US tv channels. That's me indoors in 80 degree heat.

foxybrown - 23 Feb 2015 21:51:39 (#701 of 967)

Watching Michael Costello on Wendy Williams show taking about his recent show at New York fashion week. He's a lot slimmer now

FestinaLente - 25 Feb 2015 13:51:18 (#702 of 967)

I always felt so sorry for him. He just rubbed people the wrong way, I guess. I hope he got away from his awful family and found a nice boyfriend.

KittyKarateRedux - 02 Apr 2015 21:13:15 (#703 of 967)

The Face Australia has started on Living TV

KittyKarateRedux - 07 Apr 2015 17:15:46 (#704 of 967)

The production team are definitely poking Naomi with a cattle prod, playing metallica at her and forgetting to put fabric conditioner in with her knickers. She's already fallen out with one of the judges because the judge had the temerity to imply that Naomi was past it and didn't know how the modern modelling world worked.

My one problem with the Face is that it isn't a shamateur competition like ANTM so it's full of girls who modelled for a year or so and haven't made it.

TenGorillas - 08 Apr 2015 06:24:04 (#705 of 967)

The girl with vitiligo from antm is doing well, she's the face of Desigual.

KittyKarateRedux - 08 Apr 2015 09:16:10 (#706 of 967)

Oh - I did wonder why I recognised her last time I was in Spain.

Post by deleted user
foxybrown - 14 Jun 2015 19:41:23 (#708 of 967)

Vitiligo girl series is on Living tv now. Can I be bothered?

foxybrown - 14 Jun 2015 19:46:19 (#709 of 967)

They even got MissJ back. He has no pride

KittyKarateRedux - 18 Jun 2015 22:41:22 (#710 of 967)

A beard weave??

Post by deleted user
foxybrown - 21 Jun 2015 19:47:41 (#712 of 967)

No to the faux beard. Even if he was going to persist with that monstrosity, get some better weave

KittyKarateRedux - 06 Aug 2015 22:44:25 (#713 of 967)

Lifetime channel are casting for a new series of BNTM.

foxybrown - 06 Aug 2015 22:49:23 (#714 of 967)

Good to know. I lasted a few weeks with the Antm on living tv but then forgot about it.

KittyKarateRedux - 07 Aug 2015 08:40:35 (#715 of 967)

ANTM is marginally better than the first boys v girls + social media series (mainly because no BryanBoy) but all the scoring/people going back in etc is still very annoying.

Post by deleted user
KittyKarateRedux - 26 Aug 2015 14:29:46 (#717 of 967)

BINTM will have Abbey Clancy as presenter. I loved her as a contestant and it's not like BINTM has ever had a 'real' model as presenter.. but still, stretching it a bit.

Also - if you don't mind spoilers for the series of ANTM currently showing on living, there is an interesting interview with Adam here (tiny urled as it had a spoiler in the URL)

TenGorillas - 26 Aug 2015 15:31:02 (#718 of 967)

It had Elle McP for a season, she?s pretty real as models go isn't she?

KittyKarateRedux - 26 Aug 2015 19:54:13 (#719 of 967)

Oh gods I'd forgotten about her cold shark eyes.

foxybrown - 26 Aug 2015 20:27:50 (#720 of 967)

Of course Lisa Snowden was supposedly a model

Post by deleted user
KittyKarateRedux - 27 Aug 2015 10:31:44 (#722 of 967)

She didn't do too well on the faking empathy stakes. Lisa Snowdon at least appeared to give a crap.

foxybrown - 24 Oct 2015 01:19:40 (#723 of 967)

Interesting read and Antm's coming to an end

KittyKarateRedux - 10 Jan 2016 20:25:43 (#724 of 967)

Britain's Next Top Model isnback on Thursday on lifestyle channel. Followed by season 14 Project Runway.

foxybrown - 10 Jan 2016 21:30:51 (#725 of 967)

KittyKarateRedux - 10 Jan 2016 21:35:24 (#726 of 967)

I still mourn the lost 10 seasons of Project Runway *shakes fist at Sky*

foxybrown - 10 Jan 2016 22:34:18 (#727 of 967)

Yes there is that. They had All Stars and everything.

I've saw a few when I was staying at my mum's on holiday.

KittyKarateRedux - 11 Jan 2016 09:30:43 (#728 of 967)

Obviously that is Lifetime channel - all those channels above 130 just blur into one..

foxybrown - 11 Jan 2016 11:57:40 (#729 of 967)

This was on US/st Lucian tv. 80 degrees outside I'm in watching Project Runway marathons

foxybrown - 12 Jan 2016 22:25:44 (#730 of 967)

foxybrown - 21 Jan 2016 20:24:32 (#731 of 967)

Both Proj Runway and BNTM started last week,I forgot all about them. Anyone watch? both On Lifetime tonight

KittyKarateRedux - 21 Jan 2016 20:46:02 (#732 of 967)

You didn't miss much, both of them were just 'meet the contestants' episodes.

BNTM seem to have cast the usual mix of girls. The gobby, the quirky and the bolshy.

foxybrown - 21 Jan 2016 21:24:50 (#733 of 967)

BNTM is awful. The girls are meh and Abby should stick to looking pretty.

KittyKarateRedux - 24 Jan 2016 15:11:40 (#734 of 967)

So how did you find the photoshoot? MrKitty was amazed by how unfit the girls were. Even if you don't have to have aerobic fitness surely they'd have been doing something pilates or yoga to work on their 'standing in weird poses until your muscles give way' skills.

There were some pretty poor pictures, especially the other girl (Billie?) in the elimination as her whole posture + burning fire in the background made me think ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.

foxybrown - 24 Jan 2016 17:53:00 (#735 of 967)

The photoshoot.... car crash. So much people out of shape and/or clueless. But I think I switched over in a break and forgot to turn back until the very end and just saw the girl get eliminated. I was surprised it wasn't the bony black girl who talked much and. Did nothing. I can't say I'll be glued to the rest of the series unless there's some serious makeovers

KittyKarateRedux - 29 Jan 2016 09:33:57 (#736 of 967)

Trying to avoid doing spoilers...

I can't believe someone chose Evil Nicky as the person to talk to when they wanted to quit. He's hardly going to put effort into talking them out of it.

KittyKarateRedux - 29 Jan 2016 09:36:05 (#737 of 967)

Public Service Announcement

Next week is makeover week. So if you love watching girls cry about having their hair cut, eyebrows bleached so they look like an alien or not getting their longed for weave, this is the one to tune in for.

foxybrown - 29 Jan 2016 12:43:49 (#738 of 967)

I fell asleep again. Spoil away as far as I'm concerned, I'm not that into it.

Also Project Runway is disappointing me so far.

foxybrown - 30 Jan 2016 15:19:38 (#739 of 967)

I'm watching a fashion programme with Fearne whatsherface and Gok Wan. It's terrible I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like Fashion Police or the Clothes Show. Just a lot of boring talking

KittyKarateRedux - 08 Feb 2016 09:33:36 (#740 of 967)

So makeover week ticked all the boxes on the dramas. Wasn't sure about the mullet. Think the maintenance on the shaved + blonde will be terrible and her scalp will be a bleach blister by week 6.

Runway - god I love team challenge weeks. The shower curtain + non-stretch swimsuit was a joy.

foxybrown - 08 Feb 2016 13:39:49 (#741 of 967)

I saw PR, that outfit was so bad and the woman was very strange.

I forgot BNTM was makeover week and didn't bother to watch it. I might have to seek it out on demand

KittyKarateRedux - 08 Feb 2016 13:42:53 (#742 of 967)

Apparently they are also showing Aussie next top model now..

foxybrown - 08 Feb 2016 13:48:47 (#743 of 967)

Yes on a Sunday but I've never watched that

KittyKarateRedux - 08 Feb 2016 13:52:32 (#744 of 967)

Aussie used to be good fun in a 'we actually had a successful girl' kind of way, but they were much more harsh in the judging.

foxybrown - 13 Feb 2016 20:44:08 (#745 of 967)

Watching the makeover episode now. I'm speechless. I feel they scalped the black girl and just changed the weaves on the other two (one was worse than what she came in with) as they can't be arsed to actually style their hair on shoots.

Most of the contestants didn't look any better

foxybrown - 13 Feb 2016 20:51:04 (#746 of 967)

Also the baldies make up for the toothpaste advert didn't go up to her hairline and was about 2 shades too dark, so she looked like she'd been hit in the face with a mud pie

foxybrown - 13 Feb 2016 21:17:15 (#747 of 967)

These make up shades on the black girls are terrible. They're not even near matching. To think Sleek cosmetics started out primarily to cater for dark skintones.

And why is that girl absolutely blubbering in the judging. She won't make it in modelling.

According to Abby Clancy she can cure dyslexia by increasing confidence. There must be money in that

KittyKarateRedux - 20 Feb 2016 12:54:56 (#748 of 967)

Still watching?

So BNTM featured the usual 'hug it out' method of fixing problems. If only world peace came so easily. You can tell it's low budget when the winner of a challenge gets their photo in a wallpaper manufacturer's company magazine.

On Runway I felt so sorry for Ashley, but maybe that was me projecting as the fat lass who always got picked last for stuff. Bet she wished she'd been able to shoot her team mates.

foxybrown - 20 Feb 2016 16:44:42 (#749 of 967)

Yes I'm still watching. The hug it out was so fake. I get a mean girls vibe from those white girls but maybe that's my slant. I did not see the original argument why did the two black girls go off at them. They made it seem like they just got angry out of nowhere as per and Abbey just accepted that

Poor Ashley I was so upset for her. Now those were definitely Mean Girls. That bobbed hair one sees Ashley as her competition so tried to get her out. Bless Lori. The one that was evicted - her dress was so shitty and she tried to defend it to the end.

The other team were so good working together it made the Mean Girls look even worse. Heidi had their number from jump though.

KittyKarateRedux - 21 Feb 2016 08:53:01 (#750 of 967)

As far as I could tell the initial argument started over bedrooms in the model house. After an elimination it was noticed that angel and Billie had a bigger room and only a few people in it. In classic 'too soon dude' Bethan and the others raised the idea of swapping immediately and with the whole emotions high thing it escalated from there. Though the edit wasn't great for clarity.

foxybrown - 21 Feb 2016 10:36:50 (#751 of 967)

Thank you Kitty, so why didn't some girls move into the room with them. They do seem to be spilt down colour lines. Very us and them.

I don't like Bethan. Very rat like. I didn't like when they piped up in elimination that Billie didn't want to be there more than them and from next week's edit it looks like Abbey takes this to heart.

I just remembered one of the eliminated girls reaction, stroppy and stomping off. Very funng

foxybrown - 21 Feb 2016 16:15:18 (#752 of 967)

Funny even

KittyKarateRedux - 21 Feb 2016 20:46:56 (#753 of 967)

I think they're having to share double beds so I can see why you wouldn't rush to share with someone you don't feel comfortable with. Angel has previously been in a row with Amreen (?) over a hat, so I think she may be lovely girl who protects herself from being hurt by being prickly. Looking on the upside, the double elimination will have eased the pressure on beds.

foxybrown - 10 Mar 2016 21:09:15 (#754 of 967)

I missed last week's and I tune in this week to see people straining to eat jerk chicken and dance. The struggle is too much

KittyKarateRedux - 11 Mar 2016 07:37:18 (#755 of 967)

Oh gods they were definitely all dad dancing.

foxybrown - 11 Mar 2016 09:29:14 (#756 of 967)

The British version is so low rent. None of those girls are model material

KittyKarateRedux - 11 Mar 2016 09:49:45 (#757 of 967)

I don't get how Australia NTM has such a parade of model suitable girls when they mostly came from the same gene pool?

Of the remaining girls Jessica could make it as a model I think, but not 'top'. Interesting how her christianity was so foreground in the interview week but doesn't seem to have been mentioned again.

Chloe probably isn't right for it in so many ways - she's very conscious of her body, and I can't work out if they photoshopped her radox photo around her stomach or she was fretting over nothing during nude week. Perhaps they had her doing the crazy neck stretch to make her stomach look flatter.

Pleased to see the back of Bethan, as she was very one-faced (both in photo and in the house)

foxybrown - 11 Mar 2016 20:24:12 (#758 of 967)

I don't even know the difference between Jessica and Chloe.

I thought Bethan would win because of her odd face but whatsherface...Abby seem to really take against her

foxybrown - 21 Mar 2016 22:35:07 (#759 of 967)

Well BNTM was a damp squib

But on alumni watch - ANTM's Yaya is on Chicago Med

KittyKarateRedux - 22 Mar 2016 20:04:00 (#760 of 967)

Totally the wrong girl won BNTM. While I didn't love Angel she was credible. Jess also could have worked. Chloe will end up modelling wedding dresses.

foxybrown - 22 Mar 2016 21:31:03 (#761 of 967)

I guess picking Angel would have sent out the wrong message. She was the most credible one of a poor final three but a very odd personality

KittyKarateRedux - 30 Mar 2016 16:20:47 (#762 of 967)

Since my ancient sky+ box decided I must be interested I watched OzNTM. WHAT THE HECK HAS ALEX PERRY DONE TO HIS FACE?

The man has that puffy/scarred look that reminds of Mickey Rourke/chiseled spam.

foxybrown - 30 Mar 2016 16:39:21 (#763 of 967)

I don't know who Alex Perry is

KittyKarateRedux - 30 Mar 2016 16:55:21 (#764 of 967)

Apparently he's an australian fashion designer. I only know him as the bitter non-blonde on the right of the judging panel.

foxybrown - 30 Mar 2016 18:24:16 (#765 of 967)

Oh I see I've only seen about 5 mins of OzNTM

KittyKarateRedux - 15 Apr 2016 22:13:34 (#766 of 967)

ANTM cycle 22. Did they just trawl the LA bus station at 4am to find the contestants? Some of them look like the faces of meth poster. Where did they find so many sex criminals in waiting?

foxybrown - 15 Apr 2016 22:25:31 (#767 of 967)

It's still on?

Tenesmus - 15 Apr 2016 22:26:39 (#768 of 967)

I've been in the room when OzNTM has been on.

Crikey they are attractive. Miles better than Brit and Yank.

KittyKarateRedux - 15 Apr 2016 22:54:22 (#769 of 967)

Cycle 22 was the last season before it got canned

Living seem to be showing it in an embarrassed contractual obligation way, with minimal publicity

foxybrown - 16 Apr 2016 00:17:16 (#770 of 967)

I didn't even know it was on, and coincidentally I just saw the winner in the Daily Mail earlier this evening. They are in the current Dancing with the Stars

Sunday night at 7pm for new episodes, there's a repeat today at 4pm

KittyKarateRedux - 28 May 2016 18:52:33 (#773 of 967)

Ozntm finished. All the girls were good if a bit dull.

alert for foxy

New series of project runway on lifetime on Thursday

foxybrown - 28 May 2016 19:19:10 (#774 of 967)

Thank you kitty.

foxybrown - 30 May 2016 11:15:38 (#775 of 967)

Been watching cycle 22 on catch up and it's not bad at all. I've forgotten who I saw who won so that's a bonus.

KittyKarateRedux - 30 May 2016 11:19:49 (#776 of 967)

Is it just me that feels sorry for Erik Asler? At least NFP Nigel got to sit on panel and only had to do a couple of shoots per season.

Ah, he's Tyra's boyfriend. Nepotism in action. Next I'm going to find out that Yu Tsai is actually her child.

foxybrown - 30 May 2016 12:11:28 (#777 of 967)

Saves money to use the help.

I feel sorry for Mr Jay, all those years of hard work, for what?

KittyKarateRedux - 03 Jun 2016 10:40:53 (#778 of 967)

Ah, it's an old season of Project Runway (season 9/2011) so Michael Kors still reigns supreme with a face like a handbag.

But still, not one I've seen so I'm still recording it. There was a lot of pyjama based fugly on the runway, felt sorry for the girl who ended up with someone's boxers.

foxybrown - 03 Jun 2016 12:52:42 (#779 of 967)

I fell asleep. The little I saw was very dull.

Does Michael Kors look like one of his handbags? Over decorated?

KittyKarateRedux - 03 Jun 2016 13:40:21 (#780 of 967)

Kind of a weird shade of leather that you never see in nature with golden highlights.

foxybrown - 21 Jun 2016 20:57:17 (#781 of 967)

Forgot all about Project Runway so having a two episode marathon now

KittyKarateRedux - 22 Jun 2016 08:32:41 (#782 of 967)

I did enjoy the group challenge, especially the 'I'm owning this' part at judging.

YaYa Dacosta was in the Nice Guys film.. she felt pretty fake.

KittyKarateRedux - 01 Jul 2016 18:49:32 (#783 of 967)

I loved Heidi's reaction to what she perceived as a rule change 'but it's week you're in, next week you're out'

foxybrown - 01 Jul 2016 21:23:54 (#784 of 967)

Fell asleep not long after the beginning. I'll have to rewatch but she didn't try and talk that woman into staying did she

foxybrown - 03 Jul 2016 22:36:42 (#785 of 967)

Watching now. Bit silly to have the men racing the women as men would be faster, so all group leaders

foxybrown - 23 Jul 2016 18:53:29 (#786 of 967)

ANTM is not dead. Who won the last cycle by the way?

There will be the a new host...Rita Ora.... Yeah can't wait for that......

KittyKarateRedux - 24 Jul 2016 19:35:53 (#787 of 967)

Oh good grief

KittyKarateRedux - 27 Jul 2016 09:28:51 (#788 of 967)

Is it me or does this season of Project Runway have a lot of team challenges? I think they took one look at Burt and decided to use him as a torture device.

Tenesmus - 27 Jul 2016 09:31:47 (#789 of 967)

I suspect the reality of modelling is a lot more sordid than NTM would have one believe. Not sure it would make suitable telly though.

foxybrown - 27 Jul 2016 11:37:34 (#790 of 967)

Burt is such an arsehole.

Yeah too many team challenges, no sure why, it's not like they're getting rid of people faster

foxybrown - 29 Jul 2016 10:35:49 (#791 of 967)

Another Team challenge this week,This is very wierd

foxybrown - 25 Aug 2016 21:57:17 (#792 of 967)

Finale part one Project Runway- that Joshua is so damn salty I was hoping they'd ditch him.

They love Anya, I knew they wouldn't kick her out

KittyKarateRedux - 26 Aug 2016 08:57:11 (#793 of 967)

Joshua should get a job bedazzling midi skirts for Per Una.

Anya was just getting the shock treatment to pick up her game so she can spend the next 48 hours under pressure making something wonderful like she always does.

I was 50/50 on Kimberly's Brooklyn style - bubble butt not good, but I didn't hate the palette. The problem is, selling sassy Brooklyn to New Yorkers? Hardly inspirational.

KittyKarateRedux - 26 Aug 2016 08:58:30 (#794 of 967)

And just for completeness - Viktor. Hmm.. Some lovely things but it reminds me of shopping in Desigual or Vero Moda on holiday, getting home and discovering that they don't work in Manchester.

foxybrown - 26 Aug 2016 13:17:35 (#795 of 967)

All points very true.

I hated kimberley's clothes all that cheap looking satin. Joshua's are just as bad. Viktor's look very well made and he would kill a bitch to win. It's between him and Anya.

foxybrown - 02 Sep 2016 11:14:36 (#796 of 967)

Predictively Anya won, it was so obvious I thought there was going to be a twist. I'm so glad josh didn't win, he was so damn salty and his clothes were horrible.

Spooky to see that L'wren Scott on the panel. So this series was quite old, I hope they continue showing them until we get up to date

foxybrown - 02 Dec 2016 17:23:09 (#797 of 967)

Anyone watch the All Stars series? I like the rest of them can't stand Sam. He's seems to be still there because Isaac Mizrazi (sp?) wants to get in his pants

KittyKarateRedux - 03 Dec 2016 20:22:31 (#798 of 967)

Oh god yes! Sam is such a little bitch who just keeps scraping by because of Isaac.

foxybrown - 03 Dec 2016 20:24:35 (#799 of 967)

As those housewives show would say - The thirst is real

foxybrown - 28 Jan 2017 14:29:11 (#800 of 967)

A really long article about Tiffany, the contestant that Tyre screamed "we were all rooting for you!" at

foxybrown - 28 Jan 2017 14:33:08 (#801 of 967)

Learnt from that that one of the Go Fug You women was a senior producer on ANTM

KittyKarateRedux - 28 Jan 2017 17:47:41 (#802 of 967)

Ooh interesting. Lifetime is currently showing OZTM as usual the girls are all young and amazingly pretty. One girl who looked like a young Melissa George ended up with a Naima style shaved sides affair. There may have been tears.

Also there are trailers for BINTM.

KittyKarateRedux - 31 Jan 2017 08:30:23 (#803 of 967)

ANTM - "Wot no real model in charge" season is starting on Thursday on Living TV. Even BINTM could find a 'model' to host the show.

foxybrown - 31 Jan 2017 11:48:44 (#804 of 967)

Thanks, I'll try and remember Kitty. I'd prefer more Project Runway though

KittyKarateRedux - 31 Jan 2017 14:04:38 (#805 of 967)

Me too, but I'm going to give ANTM at least 2 episodes to see how royally they've screwed it up.

KittyKarateRedux - 17 Feb 2017 16:28:45 (#806 of 967)

So a couple of episodes in and the new ANTM feels very back to basics in a good way .

The new judges are ok, I guess, not sure about the Law the stylist, but they seem to be moderately helpful in judging. Rita as a modelling expert is a bit of a stretch, but the get round it by saying it's all about being a 'brand'. Being a brand must be what the kids are calling 'triple threat' these days.

I do miss the early years modelling show and tell that Tyra used to do, but when it went a bit nutty (tooch, booch, mooch) it bored me. So, not having that going on will be a relief.

The makeovers this week were fairly sane. There was a lot of crying from a red head who had 'virgin' hair who was being made pre-raphelite red (which was an improvement). Someone got unicorn mane/my little pony coloured hair.

The nude shoot seemed WAY more nude than they usually do in ANTM, normally it's all flesh coloured thongs, but perhaps they had more photoshop money?

Tenesmus - 17 Feb 2017 17:30:17 (#807 of 967)

Mrs Tenesmus was wondering how Rita got the gig. She's in the 50 Shades flicks, maybe that's how the yanks noticed.

foxybrown - 18 Feb 2017 10:58:52 (#808 of 967)

Is this on tv now or are you watching it though nefarious means?

I thought BNTM was on now?

KittyKarateRedux - 18 Feb 2017 14:27:34 (#809 of 967)

ANTM is on Living Thursday @8

foxybrown - 18 Feb 2017 21:49:25 (#810 of 967)

Ta kitty, found them on sky go, I started to watch the first episode earlier. It has potential. I must remember to watch.

All this shite about brand though...

KittyKarateRedux - 19 Feb 2017 08:50:46 (#811 of 967)

BNTM starts on 16th March 8pm

KittyKarateRedux - 19 Feb 2017 09:25:10 (#812 of 967)

Project Runway!!!!! Thursday nights after OZNTM on Lifetime. I missed the first episode but there is an extra showing on Wednesday.

foxybrown - 19 Feb 2017 15:39:40 (#813 of 967)

Whoop hoo thanks kitty. My Sky series link obviously doesn't wk.

I'm currently still on ANTM ep1 it's not bad so far. It's definitely improved for by the lack of Tyra

foxybrown - 19 Feb 2017 15:40:46 (#814 of 967)

I can't see me being interested in BNTM

foxybrown - 19 Feb 2017 16:08:54 (#815 of 967)

Episode 2: these walks...yeesh

Oh lord.. a Black Lives Matters

foxybrown - 19 Feb 2017 17:26:58 (#816 of 967)

Week 3 makeover week. Aka. I want to be a model but don't change anything about me. Ever week

foxybrown - 23 Mar 2017 17:19:59 (#817 of 967)

Surprisingly I like Rita in the new old ANTM, but according to Wendy Williams, She's been fired and Tyrant is coming back. which must have meant that she was doing too good a job

KittyKarateRedux - 24 Mar 2017 08:25:22 (#818 of 967)

My only problem with Rita is the way she says 'model' to be honest. Kind of like Modoul.

Bugger to Tyra coming back - the reason new/old ANTM works is that it is back to basics.

foxybrown - 24 Mar 2017 14:17:39 (#819 of 967)

She's a lahdahnah innit. Well via Kosovo

Poor Reet.

Btw Tyra has also got the gig hosting Americas Got Talent

KittyKarateRedux - 27 Mar 2017 11:25:11 (#820 of 967)

Started watching the new series of BINTM.

Same old, same old to be honest. The judges have settled into their roles now so it does seem a bit less ramshackle. I have more time for Nicky the photographer these days, he's settled into the bitchy but fair critique, and he does seem to give a crap about the girls.

The girls are the usual mix of stunningly pretty, gawky, bolshy, bitchy and expression unaware.

KittyKarateRedux - 27 Mar 2017 11:25:38 (#821 of 967)

Oh and it's BNTM makeover week this week if you want bat squeaks and sobbing.

foxybrown - 27 Mar 2017 13:50:31 (#822 of 967)

I must try and remember, I saw the first one them promptly forgot about it.

foxybrown - 28 Mar 2017 21:31:55 (#823 of 967)

foxybrown - 28 Apr 2017 20:11:15 (#824 of 967)

This weeks is BNTM in Walthamstow. I was in that very same location last week

DejaLu - 28 Apr 2017 20:50:53 (#825 of 967)

I hope you remembered to smize.

TenGorillas - 28 Apr 2017 20:55:55 (#826 of 967)

Blimey, that's the second ANTM shooting.

foxybrown - 28 Apr 2017 21:14:35 (#827 of 967)

Oh yes, as I draped myself artfully over a giant glitter ball

KittyKarateRedux - 12 May 2017 20:16:29 (#828 of 967)

Why the heck did Tyra show up at judging? Did thry say her name too many times like Candyman?

I only just noticed that all the Rita Alerts must have all been filmed on the same day as she seems to be locked in the same basement wearing the same outfit.

foxybrown - 12 May 2017 20:22:05 (#829 of 967)

Poor Rita, I thought she did a good job and should not have been shitcanned. That's the first cycle I've watched all the way through in years.

KittyKarateRedux - 12 May 2017 20:25:37 (#830 of 967)

I thought it was a good cycle. The panel worked well, no particularly stupid challenges. Wasn't 100% on the winner but I reckon she was the brand's choice .

I am not looking forwards to Tyrant returning.

foxybrown - 12 May 2017 20:43:09 (#831 of 967)

I thought the winner was lovely, second was rather bland in a instagram model way. Third should have been booted weeks ago

KittyKarateRedux - 16 May 2017 08:39:21 (#832 of 967)

Oh god yes, third place was really only there so they could show off pictures of her mother.

Are you still watching BNTM? I was a little sad when Tallulah-Eve was eliminated, as she seemed so sweet if a little hard work. I have no arguments with the final 3 though.

KittyKarateRedux - 16 May 2017 08:43:38 (#833 of 967)

They're trailering Project Runway (not at) Allstars so it looks like that will take over the one of the freed up slots (BNTM/Runway).

I really didn't like the judging panel on that, Isaac Mizrahi was definitely thinking with his penis permanently last season.

foxybrown - 16 May 2017 18:31:31 (#834 of 967)

Nah I gave up on BNTM after the first episode I think although I usually see whose been eliminated as it's at the beginning of something else I record, Project Runway probably. I saw the last 3 not particularly impressed but I never am by the BNTM girls

Issac Mizrahi is not on the PR they are showing at the moment, that's ending soon (2 weeks?) so surely All Stars will be in that slot?

foxybrown - 16 May 2017 19:03:46 (#835 of 967)

And yes isaac was very much after the young man

KittyKarateRedux - 19 May 2017 08:41:12 (#836 of 967)

It looks like Runway All Stars is taking over in BNTM's slot next week.

So.. to the final of BNTM. I dunno, I just didn't love the girl that won. Sure she had the height, but her photos felt very hit and miss. Perhaps I just had a girl crush on Alannah that was blinding me. I liked Jennifer too, but she looked 'short' when walking in the final runway next to Olivia.

foxybrown - 19 May 2017 16:35:22 (#837 of 967)

I saw the winners picture on the sidebar of shame, she didn't look great imo. And whoever styled the black girl's hair needs a slap, it looked like they didn't bother

foxybrown - 19 May 2017 16:36:14 (#838 of 967)

I'll have to make sure I set my planner for All Stars, cheers KK

KittyKarateRedux - 19 May 2017 16:45:36 (#839 of 967)

To be honest this was the most conventionally attractive season of BINTM for ages, much fewer quirky looking girls. Still not as stunning as the girls of OZNTM.

I think they don't know what to do with black hair, it's like the playbook consists of three pages - disney princess weave / blonde and short / a less aggressive Grace Jones. Surely a hair professional has more choices?

foxybrown - 19 May 2017 17:07:24 (#840 of 967)

It's sad really, black hair is probably more versatile as you could quickly add different colours and textures with clip ins or wigs, if they can't be arsed to style natural hair

I did notice a white stylist patting it in the clip I saw, It needed moisture at the very least. I guess the budget could not run to hiring someone who knows how to do black hair.

KittyKarateRedux - 05 Jun 2017 14:02:44 (#841 of 967)

I don't know if you watched the first season, but unReal is starting again on Lifetime channel. Kind of fun/horrifying, it was written by someone who used to work on scripted reality shows. I wonder if all the good /real material got used up in season 1 though.

foxybrown - 05 Jun 2017 14:11:32 (#842 of 967)

Yes I did watch that and not its going to be very edgy next series with a racial edge. I did enjoy it.

I'm now reminded of something I watched where they spoke about seating for daytime audiences in the US, that you were seated according to attractiveness with the less attractive and mostly non white people were put at the back

foxybrown - 25 Aug 2017 22:56:19 (#843 of 967)

On holiday I saw the first one and a half episodes of season 16 of Project Runway yesterday, they have a variety of sizes of models this series. One contestant moaned that she'd never dressed a curvy woman before she was a uk 12 at best. The judges were appalled.

Actually now I think about it there was no Nina Garcia, Zac Posen was on the panel

KKR - I've got a couple of episodes of Unreal to watch when I get back but what did you think about it

KittyKarateRedux - 10 Sep 2017 15:28:11 (#844 of 967)

I'm not sure UnReal actually went anywhere with the racial angle in the end.

Watched allstars.. It was fine, I missed most the seasons these guys were in so had no history and didn't know who to hate. Isaac didn't fancy anyone so the judging was way more sane.

foxybrown - 10 Sep 2017 19:39:30 (#845 of 967)

Yes UnReal copped out in the end

Lifetime seemed to miss out about 3 or 4 series of project Runway. I spoilered myself and saw that Dmitry won. I don't think it's fair past winners are in it, they've already won a load of money to start their business

They also need to stop showing that Tim Gunn favourite clips show, I must have seen it about four times

KittyKarateRedux - 11 Sep 2017 13:07:11 (#846 of 967)

I think I've seen that Ironing in the doorway clip more times than I've ironed a shirt in the last year.

KittyKarateRedux - 11 Sep 2017 13:08:53 (#847 of 967)

Also, surely we're due another cycle of ANTM? I bet Rita would have cracked it out in half the time.

foxybrown - 11 Sep 2017 18:37:15 (#848 of 967)

Poor dumped Rita. I thought she was ok

KittyKarateRedux - 12 Sep 2017 08:31:00 (#849 of 967)

We'll look back fondly at her once Mama Tyrant is back in the saddle. Google informs me that they are currently shooting the first Tyra cycle. They are keeping the rest of the panel, including bitter little peroxide pixie Drew.

foxybrown - 12 Sep 2017 19:14:42 (#850 of 967)

How many RTV shows has our Rita been booted off now?

KittyKarateRedux - 15 Sep 2017 21:48:17 (#851 of 967)

BINTM is back October 19th.

Also Lifetime are going to Runway 16 next week (current season in the US), after fannying around with filler episodes the past few weeks.

foxybrown - 15 Sep 2017 23:09:55 (#852 of 967)

Yes the series nine recap has been on at least once. There's a good few series that lifetime did not show in the uk, instead of repeating stuff, show that .

I saw the first couple of the new season while on holiday. The models are supposedly diverse in size and age

KittyKarateRedux - 17 Oct 2017 10:58:26 (#853 of 967)

Well the models are diverse compared to the industry norm. I quite like the model commenting on the clothes/design phase.

So far the series is ok - no real personalities to love or hate yet. Admittedly I'd probably stop the twins drinking any coffee to see if they stop running round like demented fraggles.

I did cringe this week when one of them sewed their finger... that was like all my Home Economics lesson nightmares in one place.

KittyKarateRedux - 17 Oct 2017 11:04:12 (#854 of 967)

BNTM is back this week on Thursday. New male model as judge, and they've possibly binned Hillary.

foxybrown - 17 Oct 2017 20:15:20 (#855 of 967)

I don't like those twins. They are damn annoying

I haven't watched much of the last couple of BNTMs, the girls weren't great looking IMO

foxybrown - 18 Oct 2017 19:44:49 (#856 of 967)

Mychael Knight, a finalist from the early years of Project Runway has died aged 39

KittyKarateRedux - 27 Oct 2017 10:10:21 (#857 of 967)

Am I the only one watching BNTM? far I'm liking Ivy (has a Jodie Kidd/Kate Moss vibe in some pictures), Shaunaugh and Cirrah.

How low rent is it though? Having the elimination room upstairs in the model house.

The nits outbreak also adds to the low rent vibe.

foxybrown - 27 Oct 2017 15:43:17 (#858 of 967)

Sorry not watching, I can't get the enthusiasm for the British one. Have they really got nits? That's truly a first

Tenesmus - 27 Oct 2017 16:27:21 (#859 of 967)

Thanks for the heads (haha) up, Mrs T will be pleased to see this on the Sky box.

KittyKarateRedux - 27 Oct 2017 16:34:43 (#860 of 967)

I can't get the enthusiasm for the British one.

I can see why, it's the worst of all worlds to be honest. Below par girls with below par rewards. At least OZntm has cracking looking sheilas.

Have they really got nits?

Totally awkward moment in their first 'proper' photoshoot in the house when Max (new judge - much less up himself than the last male model) had to say the hair stylists had spotted one girl with nits, so they were all having to have treatment. Much wailing followed.

Tenesmus - 27 Oct 2017 16:46:59 (#861 of 967)

I always thought the American NTMs were a bit lacklustre compared to all the rest.

KittyKarateRedux - 27 Oct 2017 19:24:49 (#862 of 967)

I thought some of the last Tyra batch weren't candidates for nits.. maybe pubic lice.

KittyKarateRedux - 05 Jan 2018 16:03:46 (#863 of 967)

Meh. Well the right person won I think, though she probably has the wrong body shape to be a 'real' model.

KittyKarateRedux - 05 Jan 2018 16:04:24 (#864 of 967)

Project Runway - God help me those twins did me in. Even in the fluffy bunny roundup at the end they couldn't admit to being in the wrong.

foxybrown - 05 Jan 2018 19:33:24 (#865 of 967)

I didnt watch BNTM but I agree with you about those twins, they were vile. I think all the other contestants loathed them as well. At first I thought they werent at the final shows or the reunion. They were a mess.

foxybrown - 05 Jan 2018 19:34:12 (#866 of 967)

The guy who won was very much a sleeper throughout the series but had the best fashion show.

KittyKarateRedux - 20 Jan 2018 17:54:53 (#867 of 967)

New Tyra helmed series of ANTM sneaked onto Sky Living this week like an apologetic fart.

foxybrown - 21 Jan 2018 17:53:16 (#868 of 967)

Really? Just end it already

Kitty, What did you think of Project Runway? I enjoyed this series and the winner was deserved for his final show. I didn't really like what he did week to week but his show was the best of the finalists

foxybrown - 21 Jan 2018 20:46:46 (#869 of 967)

OMG, I'm watching now. Tyrant's ego is out of control. I thought Rita did an ok job last cycle.she was probably too good so got booted. Poor Rita

KittyKarateRedux - 22 Jan 2018 08:54:09 (#870 of 967)

Project Runway Allstars is back again this week.

Regarding the Project Runway finale - I felt it was Brandon's to loose, and boy did he loose it by making an entire runway out of my nana's curtains. So after that, the winner was the obvious least worst - he'd only really had a couple of bad weeks, and at the end of the day, he put together a cohesive collection. Didn't like his spooky piano music for the runway though. The other collection was far too 'miami' to win, even though I liked the shape of quite a few of the pieces, if not the colours/prints.

KittyKarateRedux - 22 Jan 2018 08:56:49 (#871 of 967)

You know when Tyra is bad when you don't find Drew the worst example of humanity on the screen.

The way they are throwing away the rules, now you can be short/curve and now old! Or basically, lets admit to ourselves that you'll never be a model after this. Must feel odd to Tyra speaking to that 42 year old grandmother, who is 2 years younger than her.

foxybrown - 22 Jan 2018 19:31:28 (#872 of 967)

Yes I agree about Brandon. The judges loved him and then he presented a collection for Cath Kidson. Very odd. But the hanging straps were really annoying me by the final. Like a frigging straight jacket.

ANTM - just fucking nuts. The other older woman so transparently kept for conflict. She will get dumped mid episode very soon

foxybrown - 04 Feb 2018 20:24:48 (#873 of 967)

Oh lord. Watching this week's now, they are taking off this woman's wig in the middle of the salon. Not even put a curtain round

KittyKarateRedux - 04 Feb 2018 20:31:52 (#874 of 967)

I felt so sorry for the lady with alopecia, she was used to a 'message'. Though it did explain Drew's vivid choice of foundation, and Law looked 100% better with a hair cut.

I fully expect whichever girl got the floor length weave to either be bald or a right bitch due to the weight of all that hair yanking on her scalp.

foxybrown - 04 Feb 2018 22:14:29 (#875 of 967)

She'll step all over that. But it could be light, it seems quite thin and long tracks don't often have much hair on them

They "could" have painted on Drew's alopecia?! Didn't Law just take off his wig also? He looked like Anthony Anderson without it

KittyKarateRedux - 20 Feb 2018 10:42:20 (#876 of 967)

I guess this proves how forgettable the BNTM girls are.. this one was runner up this year apparently?

foxybrown - 21 Feb 2018 22:42:18 (#877 of 967)

I didn't watch and maybe that was for the best if that was the runner up....

I see Law and the other guys revelation lasted 1 episode

KittyKarateRedux - 10 Mar 2018 08:54:29 (#878 of 967)

Well at least I'll be able to up my mirror selfie game. #CIAO #SLAY #DipItLow

foxybrown - 10 Mar 2018 19:28:26 (#879 of 967)

I'm loving Project Runway all stars. Anthony, Ken and Fabio should be given their own show

barafundle - 10 Mar 2018 20:43:14 (#880 of 967)

I’m enjoying PRAS as well but I don’t half miss Tim.

foxybrown - 10 Mar 2018 21:39:25 (#881 of 967)

The Marie Clare woman is certainly not supportive!

barafundle - 10 Mar 2018 21:54:35 (#882 of 967)

She has no rapport with the designers at all and you don’t get the impression that they like her or value her opinions. Whereas with Tim there’s definitely a feeling that he’s one of the team and is willing the designers to do well.

KittyKarateRedux - 12 Mar 2018 16:34:54 (#883 of 967)

I preferred the previous all stars mentor Zanna (?) she at least seemed to matter a bit more. I think Tim Gunn hangs around more so the designers get to know him, with the Marie Claire people it feels like they only show up for 10 minutes.

foxybrown - 12 Mar 2018 18:58:40 (#884 of 967)

I forgot all about Zanna

foxybrown - 14 Apr 2018 22:36:11 (#885 of 967)

Previously forgotten Zanna reappeared for the semi final

I really liked the final four, they should give them their own show

KittyKarateRedux - 15 Apr 2018 08:42:44 (#886 of 967)

I wasn't sure about Zanna's my little pony hair. I've really liked the final four in this all stars, though I'm still uncertain about Fabio's personal style. This week he mainly looked like he was going to do a 1920 s sand dance.

foxybrown - 15 Apr 2018 09:44:00 (#887 of 967)

Yes his style is kooky I liked his dress...

foxybrown - 15 Apr 2018 21:01:03 (#888 of 967)

ANTM NFP Nigel is back to perve!

DejaLu - 16 Apr 2018 10:12:12 (#889 of 967)

NFP Nigel!! I saw him on QVC (or similar) a while back.

KittyKarateRedux - 16 Apr 2018 11:33:56 (#890 of 967)

It was good to see NFP Nigel back, wasn't sure about Eva's dreads.

So, what do we think of the final 4? Obviously none of them are ever going to make it as a top flight model, though Khrystiana may get something like an Old Navy type campaign.

I'd like to go for a drink with Shanice and Khrystiana. Jeana I just find a bit odd. Kyla just seems a bit young and earnest.

KittyKarateRedux - 16 Apr 2018 11:53:26 (#891 of 967)

Pondering it, I think it will be Kyla that wins, she has the most chance of a career, and she has done the 'journey'

foxybrown - 16 Apr 2018 22:01:39 (#892 of 967)

QVC?? Ahahaha.

Kyla I can't get into her, she always looks confused

Awful person but imo Rio was the best of the final 4

And I really liked Coura but she just didn't take their brilliant direction

Crayola - 16 Apr 2018 22:05:35 (#893 of 967)

Coura has amazing delts.

I found Kyla a bit girl next door.

foxybrown - 02 May 2018 19:30:15 (#894 of 967)

Wow they really hated Jeana. Kyla is so dull

KittyKarateRedux - 03 May 2018 16:25:17 (#895 of 967)

Finally watched the final of ANTM.

They truly stabbed Jeana in the edit didn't they? Because it changed mid season no-one will remember her like Jade, who still sticks in my mind for unashamedly not giving a fuck.

Didn't the wigs in the paper photo shoot make them look like the alien woman in Mars Attacks?

There's a spin off from Project Runway starting on Lifetime, but it seems like a rip off of Dragons Den rather than really being a skills based thing.

foxybrown - 04 May 2018 01:33:57 (#896 of 967)

I can't remember Mars Attacks.

As for PR did we discuss Anthony's win? I loved him but didn’t rate his final collection

KittyKarateRedux - 19 Jul 2018 13:05:48 (#897 of 967)

I mean I loved Anthony, but I felt he got credit for his work throughout the series rather than his final collection.

I'm in a bit of a TV lull at the minute, no good reality TV on that I've spotted so I'm watching My Kitchen Rules on Living.

Do you have Amazon Prime @Foxy? Season 3 of UnReal is on there, and so far it seems surprisingly good. They are still playing with the hashtags, this time they're playing #MeToo. Admittedly I'm only about half way through the series and they suckered me in Season 2 by completely losing direction.

foxybrown - 19 Jul 2018 15:41:23 (#898 of 967)

Completely agree with you about Anthony.

Yes there isn't much on atm. They were showing a version of PRIVACY that seemed crossed with Dragon's Den, I lasted about 5 mins.

And Noooo I don't have Amazon Prime, Im refusing to pay for any more tv! I liked Unreal, I presume that means it won't be on Lifetime

KittyKarateRedux - 23 Oct 2018 08:02:17 (#899 of 967)

I'm experimenting with something that is from the Kardashian stable. It's called Glam Masters, and it's basically makeup artists doing 'looks'. Somewhere on Lifetime channel. Presented by Laverne Cox, who does seem uncomfortable at times trying to shoe-horn the catchphrase into the goodbye to the contestants.

foxybrown - 23 Oct 2018 20:17:55 (#900 of 967)

I think that was on E or lifetime but I didn't watch

What's the catchphrase?

foxybrown - 29 Jan 2019 23:40:13 (#901 of 967)

This runway leads straight back to Bravo on March 14th! Get your first look at @KarlieKloss, @CSiriano, and company as they make it fashion on the all-new #ProjectRunway.

No Heidi, Tim Gunn or Michael Kors, everybody looks gone

KittyKarateRedux - 30 Jan 2019 13:20:37 (#902 of 967)

I think Heidi and Tim are off to Amazon to do a fashion show that will almost act as a look-book for Amazon Wardrobe.

foxybrown - 14 Mar 2019 21:07:38 (#903 of 967)

There’s some kind of ANTM for make up artists on bbc3 , presented by Stacey Dooley.

KittyKarateRedux - 01 May 2019 15:46:43 (#904 of 967)

So I watched that 'Glow Up' with Stacey.

What is it with all those illusion makeups? Why did one girl do a makeup look with string that made her model look like she had MEGA nose hair?

I really didn't get on with the judge who kept going "DING DONG" when she was happy.

All in all, it was an ok show though.

KittyKarateRedux - 01 May 2019 15:55:05 (#905 of 967)

The next season of Project Runway is only streaming in the UK on Hayu (home of the Kardashians) so I probably won't be watching it any time soon. Hopefully it'll slide onto Lifetime or E! eventually.

foxybrown - 01 May 2019 21:50:27 (#906 of 967)

Oh fudge, first UNreal and now Project Runway. These bloody streaming channels. Hopefully I'll see a marathon when I go to the West Indies in the summer.

I enjoyed Glow, yes the female judge was desperately trying to get a catchphrase.

The girl who got to the final by default was useless

foxybrown - 01 May 2019 21:52:27 (#907 of 967)

Mind you the next series of PR has no Tim Gunn, or Heidi and all new judges incl Christian Siriano so god knows what it will be like

KittyKarateRedux - 02 May 2019 08:26:38 (#908 of 967)

The Heidi/Tim Amazon series is supposed to being filmed this summer - all these streaming services really piss me off to be honest, as they hardly ever sell their own content on to terrestrial/satellite services.

I think UNreal may show up on satellite, I don't think the it is filmed/owned by Amazon, and previous series have shown up on Lifetime despite being on Amazon first.

foxybrown - 03 May 2019 05:32:31 (#909 of 967)

I am with agreement with you. I already pay shedloads to Sky, I’m refuse to payout to Netflix, Amazon, btsport and now heyu to see one show on each platform at best

I must check my sky box for UNreal again, a quick google says it’s was a Lifetime show. Was, as it's been cancelled

KittyKarateRedux - 03 May 2019 08:43:46 (#910 of 967)

I think the UK is 'owed' at least 1 more series of UnReal. Which was the last one you saw? Was it the Black Bachelor (S2), or Lady Techie Bacherlorette (S3)?

foxybrown - 04 May 2019 03:30:43 (#911 of 967)

Black batchelor, I thought that was S3

Whatever I googled said S4 was only 8 episodes and was the last

foxybrown - 15 Jan 2020 19:44:37 (#912 of 967)

Sadly, I’m never going to see Unreal.

And this neither- Making The Cut on Amazon prime Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, Naomi Campbell and Nicole Richie judges on a seemingly Project Runway copycat

As Christian Siriano and Karlie Kloss now present PR, which hasn’t appeared on Sky

KittyKarateRedux - 16 Jan 2020 08:20:34 (#913 of 967)

Ah PR is on bloody HAYU. Surely all these competing content networks can't continue? I guess I could surf the free trials to watch it next time I've got time off.

Amazon has stopped dishing out so many free trials these days, or I'd suggest you held out until March for when the Gunn/Klum thing starts and have a binge month.

foxybrown - 16 Jan 2020 13:57:41 (#914 of 967)

Yes and Sky doesn't seem to be getting many of these programmes either, its crazy to be subscribing to all these things. Im about to break and get Netflix

KittyKarateRedux - 22 May 2020 13:08:53 (#915 of 967)

Whatever happened to * Next Top Model shows? I miss them so much.

I've been watching Amazon's attempt at Project Runway (Making the Cut). It's alright. In some ways it works better - it's no longer a shamateur competition, everyone on it is already a semi or fully professional designer. There is a seamstress service who do the sewing overnight on the challenges, so sewing skills do not have to be top of the line (but having some skills is DEFINITELY helpful). You have to wonder how much Amazon selling the winning clothes changes who actually gets through. Tim and Heidi are a delight as ever. They have a new magazine editor judge Carine Roitfeld (or at least in the first few episodes) who has resting 'I can smell a fart face' when watching the clothes. Naomi Campbell has shown up as a friend of Heidi on the judging panel - at one point she was shushed for being too rude about the clothes on the runway in case everyone heard.

When Glow Up gets close to a finish on BBC 3 I'll make a start on that. I hated Ding Dong woman.

StakludKar - 22 May 2020 20:46:27 (#916 of 967)

Naomi Campbell is 50 (but has she got Old Knees?)

foxybrown - 23 May 2020 17:44:05 (#917 of 967)

I've seen one of the new Glow Up its a poor substitute

Tyra Banks got some heat a couple of weeks ago as the old ANTMs were revisited, particularly Danielle and her gap teeth

I remember when Naomi was at least a year older than me, now she's 2 months younger.

DejaLu - 23 May 2020 18:53:17 (#918 of 967)

I’ve noticed Naomi getting younger, too!

foxybrown - 27 Mar 2021 12:47:20 (#919 of 967)

Resurrecting the thread - I've just started Next in Fashion on Netflix. Seemingly a poor man's Project Runway with Alexander Chingford who's legs are like twigs and some bloke with a grey quiff. Anyone else watched?

KittyKarateRedux - 27 Mar 2021 14:09:02 (#920 of 967)

Not watched, but will find it!

foxybrown - 27 Mar 2021 14:17:26 (#921 of 967)

God bless lockdown because I wouldn't be sitting here otherwise.

foxybrown - 27 Mar 2021 14:18:48 (#922 of 967)

I look forward to your critique Kitty

Did you see the new PR with Christian Siriano? I don't think they showed it over here

KittyKarateRedux - 29 Mar 2021 12:54:50 (#923 of 967)

I haven't seen any new PR as they ended up streaming on Hayu, and I'm already paying for far too many streaming services.

So, I watched 2 episodes of the Netflix Next in Fashion. I'm mostly in for it. Things I wasn't sure on- the bad blind date teams vs people who know each other already. Not sure that it's very fair. I hope they split the teams soon, so those who cannot sew are exposed. I felt particularly sorry for the teams eliminated in the first 2 episodes, as they seemed like clever/good people torpedoed by raging egos who were unwilling to listen.

- The haberdashery cupboard, I love the stress of shopping in Mood and just having everything there feels too 'easy'.

I didn't mind the presenters, though I find Alexa a bit bland. (and blimey - how thin are her legs in episode 1?).

I did think the quality of designs produced so far are so much more polished than in Project Runway, where they had to hide the glue guns in the end.

foxybrown - 29 Mar 2021 16:39:49 (#924 of 967)

Yes I thought the Teams thing was very unfair but missed how they chose their partners, did they know each other prior to the show.

I finished the lot, I like it (unsurprisingly as its a near copy of PR!) apart from the presenters. Too irritating. It was not picked up for a second series

foxybrown - 29 Mar 2021 16:42:13 (#925 of 967)

my daughter and I were gagging at Alexa's legs in ep1 and my daughter said thank god she's covered them, when she wore trousers in ep2 - she's very cruel

foxybrown - 29 Mar 2021 16:42:59 (#926 of 967)

And bad news- they don't split the teams soon

Tenesmus - 29 Mar 2021 16:57:05 (#927 of 967)

Is there anything like this on normal space telly? I get bonus points for finding this sort of thing.

KittyKarateRedux - 29 Mar 2021 17:24:39 (#928 of 967)

Yes I thought the Teams thing was very unfair but missed how they chose their partners, did they know each other prior to the show.

It seemed to be a bit odd - some people clearly knew each other outside the show 'No-Doubt boys' 'dragon princess' 'streetwear ladies'.

I don't know how they matched the rest up, maybe it was like a designer tindr thing or the producers just went "meh, they both went to st martins, that'll do". In theory - they seem to have done the teams so you get a mix of skills in the teams when they matched them up e.g menswear vs womenswear, ideas design versus hands on sewing.

KittyKarateRedux - 29 Mar 2021 17:30:17 (#929 of 967)

Is there anything like this on normal space telly?

Sadly not that I can think of, it's all sitting on streaming services.

Amazon did one called Making the Cut with Timm and Heidi.Project Runway is on Hayu or something similar

However, I'm totally in for the BBC2 jewellery making thing, as it's my type of thing

foxybrown - 29 Mar 2021 23:17:57 (#930 of 967)

I don't know of the jewellery making thing

KittyKarateRedux - 30 Mar 2021 09:23:28 (#931 of 967)

It's called "All that glitters" and is probably going to be more Sewing Bee than Project Runway in terms of gloss and budget.

It's not on yet, just trailering for starting in 'Spring'. I am worried about the presenter, Katerine Ryan as she does my tits on other shows. Then again, I was mostly wrong about Sarah Cox on Pottery Throwdown, so maybe she'll be ok.

Tenesmus - 30 Mar 2021 09:27:25 (#932 of 967)

They trailered a new Sewing Bee "coming soon".

foxybrown - 30 Mar 2021 22:38:07 (#933 of 967)

Katherine Ryan? sorry count me out. I can't stand her. I can't even attempt

KittyKarateRedux - 06 Apr 2021 15:33:26 (#934 of 967)

I'm excited for the return of Sewing Bee. Even though every show I'm shamed by how slow I am at sewing - there is no way I could make up an outfit in a few hours.

So I've just got as far as episode 7 in Next in Fashion. Shit's getting real now! It was obvious when they split the teams that who would be one of the first eliminated - how on earth was he working in fashion without even basic sewing or fitting skills? I was SHOCKED by how skinny beefy thighed Charles was before he started lifting weights. Though I was very surprised he'd been able to pile on that much beef - his body type looked like it was more suited to the Iggy Pop 'vascular' look.

I didn't get the way the guest judge reacted to the possible elimination in Episode 4 'Streetwear'. I didn't think the look was that good (it felt a bit 80s spandau ballet goes to the thunderdome) but he seemed to like it, at least at a distance. I mean, I know big brands rip off smaller designers (constantly!) but it felt like his feelings about that were causing him to protect the wrong people.

DejaLu - 06 Apr 2021 15:43:47 (#935 of 967)

When’s Sewing Bee back? I was just thinking it felt about the right time.

KittyKarateRedux - 06 Apr 2021 15:49:06 (#936 of 967)

14th April I think for Sewing Bee .

DejaLu - 06 Apr 2021 16:32:49 (#937 of 967)

Yay! Thanks

foxybrown - 06 Apr 2021 19:15:46 (#938 of 967)

I think that guy did not want to be the one to throw off the black women, is that the episode you mean? I knew very little names, apart from the winner.

KittyKarateRedux - 07 Apr 2021 11:56:10 (#939 of 967)

Yes - that's the episode I meant. I thought he let his emotions blind him completely. I mean, it wasn't as bad as a thirsty Michael Kors on Project Runway, as at least it was only a guest.

KittyKarateRedux - 15 Apr 2021 11:33:46 (#940 of 967)

Finished Latest in Fashion. I really enjoyed it, in the end, especially once they split the pairs. Shame they aren't doing any more series it seems. I thought the correct person won the final, while the other person's stuff was fine, I just thought the other one took the opportunity to push themselves further than their normal label. So lovely seeing the families show up.

Watched the Jewellry one - meh. They haven't got the format right, should have had 2 or 3 fewer contestants, and did a lot more 'silver smithing for dummies' for the audience. Half the joy of a skills based reality show is for you to develop a blaggers guide to the craft, so you can go "What? Canister damascus without using tip-ex on the inside? Oooh he's asking for trouble" (might have started watching Forged in Fire again). The judges need to unclench a lot, especially Solange. Maybe she was not enjoying having to be around Katherine Ryan, which is totally understandable.

Glow Up returns next week, new host as Stacey is off doing something else. It appears that Ding Dong is back though sadly.

foxybrown - 15 Apr 2021 12:56:33 (#941 of 967)

Yes I liked the winner and the chubby guy that got knocked out in the semi final. It would have been an adequate replacement for Project Runway, I would have put up with the presenters for that.

I had to wonder who Ding Dong was for a moment, yeah she's annoying but so is Stacey so I won't miss her.

No jewellery show for me. As said I can't bear that Canadian woman.

I really dislike a lot of people!

KittyKarateRedux - 15 Apr 2021 14:30:26 (#942 of 967)

I had to wonder who Ding Dong was for a moment, yeah she's annoying but so is Stacey so I won't miss her.

Sorry, I am terrible for names so for me the Glow Up judges are 'Ding Dong' and 'Handlebars'. Stacey just seemed a wrong choice as she never felt particularly glam.

foxybrown - 16 Apr 2021 22:50:53 (#943 of 967)

I don’t know any of their names either! Ding Dong is all she says

foxybrown - 22 Apr 2021 17:47:10 (#944 of 967)

Beginning S3 ep1 now and they've replaced annoying Stacey with annoying Maya, well she annoys me from what I've seen on Instagram.

The contestants are just looking at her like who tf are you?

KittyKarateRedux - 23 Apr 2021 12:49:15 (#945 of 967)

Yes, I was a bit 'Who the fuck is Maya'.

So, other than Maya, Glow Up is very much like previous series - a mix of counter/wedding make-up people, instagram special people who have not done anyone elses makeup and the guys breaking out of the closet.

Some really brilliant looks though. I LOVED Dolli's art deco/afro future look.

foxybrown - 14 May 2021 20:24:07 (#946 of 967)

Watching Ep4 now, Dolli seems to be going well. The scouse ginger is is not very good and surely must go soon. And is it Samah? Good MUA for ordinary make up - if you like contouring and all that jazz- but not great at the mad shit they are asked to do on this show

KittyKarateRedux - 15 May 2021 15:28:05 (#947 of 967)

I'd certainly prefer Samah putting my makeup on compared to ginger mullet scouser!

foxybrown - 15 May 2021 16:55:03 (#948 of 967)

How on earth did she get on the show! Poor girl, I feel they set her up

foxybrown - 11 Jun 2021 00:06:29 (#949 of 967)

Kitty have you watched the final of Glow yet?. Worthy winner, but could have been any of the last 3 IMO. The result was telegraphed half way through

KittyKarateRedux - 11 Jun 2021 09:10:23 (#950 of 967)

I'm about quarter way through the final of glow up - I just got to the Charlotte Tilbury inspiration video which made me like... WTF what has she done to her cheeks? Her eyes looked like two marbles resting on cushions.

I'll be back when I finish it off this weekend!

KittyKarateRedux - 14 Jun 2021 09:14:35 (#951 of 967)

Glow Up: i'd have been happy with any of them to win to be honest, I thought they each brought some good skills to the table. At the masterclass challenge it felt like Sophie hadn't done enough, they kind of gave her a pass letting her do special effects style makeup. I'm pleased that Dolli and Craig got a lot of love during that masterclass section, hopefully it'll translate to some stepping stones for them.

foxybrown - 16 Jun 2021 10:05:04 (#952 of 967)

Yes when they only gave her the kit advice and the other two got bookings, I knew she'd win. But they were all good as well as the person who was knocked out the previous week

KittyKarateRedux - 20 Aug 2021 20:34:44 (#953 of 967)

New season of Making the Cut (Tim & Heidi) on Prime. Filmed under lockdown so wondering how it's going to work.

foxybrown - 22 Aug 2021 21:34:10 (#954 of 967)

I saw the preview for that today in the middle of watching UnReal!

I’ve been watching Love Island (it’s a car crash I can’t stop watching) and Unreal came to mind for some reason I remembered you said it was on a pay channel and found it on Prime. I’ve been bingeing season 3 & 4. It’s so trashy, I love it.

KittyKarateRedux - 23 Aug 2021 13:36:03 (#955 of 967)

Well as I was under voluntary lockdown due to MrKitty's Covid, I binged all of 'Making the Cut'.

It felt weird that Winnie Harlow replaced Naomi Campbell as a judge, but I guess Winnie is much more likeable. (In my head, she's still ANTM, not a super successful international model, so it feels like when Aleesha joined the Strictly judging panel).

Because of lockdown they didn't get to really go out fabric shopping, it was all in a store-room on site with some online ordering, and the runway shows were just to the judges (which to be fair, I prefer, because some other shows which had live catwalks used to look like they'd swept up the denizens of the local bus station).

They were all pretty decent designers, there were not many WTF moments, but on the other hand, unlike Project Runway there were not stupid challenges (make this out of shit we found in a dumpster).

KittyKarateRedux - 23 Aug 2021 13:37:01 (#956 of 967)

UnReal was such massively underrated, top quality TRASH! I really loved all the series of it, despite it never being sure if it hated or loved reality TV.

foxybrown - 23 Aug 2021 16:27:33 (#957 of 967)

I finished it at 2am this morning. Whew. It was a trip. So underrated.

Quinn getting rid of the baby was cold. And totally batshit Rachel.

I hope MrKitty is ok.

foxybrown - 23 Aug 2021 16:28:49 (#958 of 967)

I’ll bookmark the fashion thing. Winnie Harlow is not my fave. It had a series before? Maybe Naomi couldn’t do the second series because of the baby

KittyKarateRedux - 23 Aug 2021 17:01:07 (#959 of 967)

Making the cut season 1 - mostly filmed pre-pandemic so yeah, it feels really nostalgic. There's like international travel and stuff! Also an assistant judge on the first few episodes who has such a 'smelling my own farts' face when looking at clothes (Carine ?)

foxybrown - 05 Sep 2021 16:21:28 (#960 of 967)

I got through about 3 episodes then forgot about it, it was ok.I will return

foxybrown - 21 May 2022 06:53:15 (#961 of 967)

kittykarate are you still around? Glow up is back on bbc three, the annoying Val is still around with her ding donging.

Most of the contestants seem really bad.

Ps I didn’t return to Making the Cut!

KittyKarateRedux - 21 May 2022 08:54:15 (#962 of 967)

Yep I'm into Glow Up! They seem to be lacking basics skills this time, which is really disappointing. I honestly could not believe the person who decided to write 'Queer 4 eva' on his models face in the face off.

Did you watch Glow Up Ireland? It might still be on iplayer. There was a better mix of skills on there (though heavily skewed to drag artists). Their judges were much less irritating.

foxybrown - 23 May 2022 17:24:28 (#963 of 967)

Hello kitty!

Yes I audibly gasped when he/she/ they (I believe those were his/ her/ their pronouns) did that. I didn’t understand why Ding Dong and her mate needed a conflab, they should have just stopped the face off then

I’ve haven’t watched Glow Up Ireland but it is on iplayer, I shall peruse while I wait for the next uk glow up episode.

KittyKarateRedux - 23 May 2022 18:12:42 (#964 of 967)

I know! I found it so disrespectful when he graffiti'd on her face. Tyra would have gone AWOL. My confab would have gone "well one of them tried and the other was a disrespectful, skill-free twat ...who to choose?"

goldfinch - 23 May 2022 17:45:27 (#965 of 967)

yeah I did too, kitty.

foxybrown - 24 May 2022 23:25:19 (#966 of 967)

Yay, avengers assemble!

Tyra(nt) would have lost it for real!

foxybrown - 28 May 2022 22:42:54 (#967 of 967)

Watching Glow Up Ireland now, it’s good. The judges are very no nonsense. None of your ding dong rubbish. But I hate Love Island Maura, I know she has an accent but I hate the way she talks, is it particular to the part of Ireland she’s from?

The contestants just seem like very good painters, not sure about being make up artists.

I can’t decide whose the worse presenter- Maura or Maya Jama. I can’t abide either.
