SCOTT WALKER

The new record, Bish Bosch, is out next month.

Anyone bothered? I hope there's more pig carcass punching.

There's a review of it in the latest Mojo. They seem pretty taken with it.

Have to say I wasn't all that impressed by The Drift, although I quite liked some of Tilt.

Wasn't it sides of beef, not pigs, that he was punching?

RosyLovelady - 06 Nov 2012 10:21:12 (#2 of 272)

I thought he was dead.

He was great in the Walker Brothers, but after that he went a bit weird and pretentious, I thought.

Scotts 1 to 4 are great, as is 'Til The Band Comes In.

The later, offbeat albums have some good stuff, but are wilfully obscure and atonal in parts.

Ill get it no doubt. Scott 3 is my favourite out of the four.

I shall buy it. Listen to it? We'll see.

He wasn't dead. He was in the pub. On the same darts team as Peter Green.

#MEATPUNCHING

SlasherBindman - 06 Nov 2012 11:40:15 (#11 of 272)

Pretty much unlistenable after Climate of Hunter.

Tilt and The Drift, are interesting, but neither gives me any pleasure.

I really like Farmer In The City from Tilt.

Pleasure?

PLEASURE?

lightweight.

1. Bish Bosh "A term used to describe an improper or unfinished piece of work usually due to laziness".

Something like "Mish Mash" then?

halfnelson - 08 Nov 2012 12:17:27 (#18 of 272)

I always associate the phrase with Harry Enfield's Loadsamoney.

Anthony16 - 08 Nov 2012 12:43:16 (#19 of 272)

Locally, Bishop Auckland is known as Bish Bosh.

Best line on the new Scott Walker album so far: "play fugues on Jove's spam castanets".

Oh dear!
