The Osmonds

From barbers shop quartet to major pop stars with their own cartooon series.

Osmondmania - Crazy Horses, Puppy Love, Paper Roses, Long Haired Lover from Liverpool

A little bit country - a little bit rock 'n roll.

Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny and Marie, plus Little Jimmy ... Which one was your favourite?

Tough call but I am going to have to plump for Merrill - a far better singer than Donny and provided lead vocals on all the best stuff.

I've only heard of the last three and Donnie is the only one I can picture in my head. I would never have guessed that there was a Wayne in the group.

I seem to have a vague memory of finding Marie attractive so I'll say she's my favourite.

I've (cough) heard of them

Hides iPod.

Arjuna - 12 Jan 2019 10:22:29 (#11 of 22)

They were a very good band in the early seventies and not just Crazy Horses. Down By the Lazy River is a great track.

It's interesting how many people think 'One Bad Apple' is the Jackson 5.

Arjuna - 12 Jan 2019 10:37:21 (#13 of 22)

It was written by George Jackson ( no relation ) who had pitched it to his non-relatives

Richard - a very clever bloke as well, mind you he doesn't do much singing these days; he lets that Armstrong bloke do it, and he is a shit singer.

thisonehasalittlehat - 12 Jan 2019 15:13:15 (#15 of 22)

I hate them all and the seventies which was awful.

CaptainBlack - 13 Jan 2019 00:52:43 (#16 of 22)

The 70s were grate. No Thatcher, fab music and everybody could have a home and get on in life. And also, the Osmonds did Crazy Horses, Let me In, Love Me For A Reason and Going Home.

Not that any of that rubbish is on my iPod ... no way.

London ... er ... Frome

Arjuna - 13 Jan 2019 08:23:05 (#20 of 22)

The 70s were grate. No Thatcher

Milk snatcher, leader of opposition and then PM.

There was some good music and the Osmond's were a very good band for a few albums, not many boy bands would be capable of picking up instruments and writing their songs.
