I remember sharing that a couple of years ago. Its veracity was shredded in a couple of hours.

I bet everyone is slower off the mark this time!

Like I seem to have been.

levelgaze - 11 Nov 2021 23:43:46 (#3 of 29)

Perhaps it's updated. And is now accurate...

FGBFGB - 11 Nov 2021 23:56:41 (#4 of 29)

How many from Bedfordshire?

FrankieTeardrop - 12 Nov 2021 00:03:17 (#5 of 29)

Northamptonshire is one of the coolest counties in England by this measureā€¦

FGBFGB - 12 Nov 2021 00:03:47 (#6 of 29)

Name names, please!

widenation - 12 Nov 2021 00:19:26 (#7 of 29)

I thought Joss Stone was from the West-side.

FrankieTeardrop - 12 Nov 2021 11:34:03 (#8 of 29)

Warwickshire living up to its reputation as the heart of psychedelic England

fogger - 12 Nov 2021 11:43:30 (#9 of 29)

I am mildly surprised that Duran Duran have sold more than Black Sabbath.

dmlc133 - 12 Nov 2021 11:47:43 (#10 of 29)

I am very surprised that Little Boots has sold more records than Rick Astley or George Formby. And no way has ONJ sold more than Pink Floyd.

There also is a bit of inconsistency about solo/group acts. Nicola Roberts gets in for Lincolnshire, but Brian Jones (for example) doesn't for Gloucestershire. There are probably other examples too.

RosyLovelady - 12 Nov 2021 12:34:44 (#11 of 29)

#7 So did I.

Agaliarept - 12 Nov 2021 14:01:29 (#12 of 29)

China Drum???

I've outsold China Drum.

Sabacious - 12 Nov 2021 14:11:39 (#13 of 29)

Joss Stone is from the very not west anything town of Dover. Nothing much of any interest comes from Dover, so when something does, those of us from there generally notice.

RosyLovelady - 12 Nov 2021 14:12:45 (#14 of 29)

Oh well, it must have been that other one.

FrankieTeardrop - 12 Nov 2021 14:29:56 (#15 of 29)

China Drum???

My best claim to fame is that my cousin was their producer and tour sound engineer

Peacock - 12 Nov 2021 14:34:43 (#16 of 29)

some of those best selling artists are tragic

Tagyourit - 12 Nov 2021 14:44:32 (#17 of 29)

Olivia Newton John sold more than Pink Floyd? Really?

levelgaze - 12 Nov 2021 15:11:18 (#18 of 29)

Told ya.

staticgirl - 12 Nov 2021 15:29:52 (#19 of 29)

I presume they got a bit desperate to find anyone for Lincolnshire hence my favourite member of the popular beat combo Girl's Aloud. If it was songwriters though I assume Bernie Taupin would have been a shoo-in.

dmlc133 - 12 Nov 2021 15:30:20 (#20 of 29)

Half of Dire Straits were born in Leicester.
