One of my favourite composers since I bought heaven and hell around 1977 because I liked the cover
certainly avant garde, plus his scores for 'blade runner' and 'charriots of fire', aswell as 'mythodea' that NASA uses very well received. Lots and lots of other good pieces too(some older ones very rocky) ,although i am not at all keen on electronic music in general.
Quite liked the tunes he did with Jon Anderson. Plus his film soundtracks were great...
This was very sad news for those of us who spend far too much time noodling around on synthesisers. I would say that Vg was peerless in using synthesis in a profoundly musical way. I'm not sure I'm explaining this very well, but there's a subtlety and expressiveness about his playing which I don't hear in most synth-based composition.
in honour of the departed V, runs in slow motion along the West Sands wearing droopy shorts
as long as you arent tracking down 'replicants' in 'spiner' flying cars Reverend
Co-incidentally I recently started listening to Aphrodite's Child - this is as beautiful a piece of euro-hippy magic as you could ever hope to hear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAhbVzwzZ6U
#4 - good to see you back, Chank.
