Why we love kissing with tongues even though it’s gross

You probably wouldn’t go up to a stranger in a nightclub, tap them on the shoulder and say “hey, mind if I borrow your toothbrush?” because that would be objectively weird and disgusting.

So, how come when we fancy someone we’re more than happy to lick the insides of their mouth - AKA kissing with tongues - even though the idea is sickening when you describe it literally.

Quite interesting.

I like how we suspend our disgust when we are horny. That certainly explains how I've managed to attract females on occasion.

:)

Thought I throw out an easy one.

What about speaking in tongues? That might attract some weird people.

Good point browser though much less fluid sharing going on there. Where's the fun in that?!

cozzer - 12 Oct 2017 15:38:06 (#6 of 14)

Why do people enjoy doing that fun thing? It's a mystery.

Just checking out the tongue action of a possible mate isn't it. Not much more to it than that.

Describing things literally often misses the whole point.

Some might argue that if we didn't the species would have died out some time ago.

#4 - Well, it's got the lovely Naive Melody on it, but I would still say it's only their 3rd best album. Agree about the weird people bit, though.

I await with interest Agalia's thread on the subject once he discovers where some people put other parts of their anatomy.

And in other news about tongues and such:

Exceptionally prudish stuff from the writer. Who can say what constitutes 'disgusting'? The human mouth is full of bacteria, and it is also very effectively sealed off from places where those bacteria will make you ill. That's why children at a certain stage of development have since time immemorial been putting all sorts of stuff in theu their mouths, and never come to any harm.

Heh. I'm a married man, I wouldn't know anything about that.
